You are arrogant, rude and clueless. I didn't mention your name because you are clueless as well and less informed..

These people here who has been providing priceless information about Tier 4 visa do any of them work with Home Office? Anyone who has an experience can always help out.

Mind yourself before I descend on you...

Your name alone self is enough evidence of cluelessness.

Nairaland forum should never be a substitute for your bank.
Instead of tagging people on here, who may not even have account with your bank, your question is best answered by your bank.

And YES! Banks do charge . Banks can charge.
How much they charge, it’s their perogative.
So,
Ask your bank. You will get better answers.

You guys should not panic. NAMA has just clarified the rumours flying up on social media.
The Liaison was an emergency notice for a period of 90 days which is subject to review.

Let's hope they would review it and open International space in due course.

This is the officialal twitter handle of the Minsiter of Aviation

ExpressBooking:
I have scanned and searched Instagram, Facebook, NCAA and FAAN official websites and handles for this news update yet it returns nothing.

Even a Google search on when international flights will likely resume in Nigeria, does not return any of these posted links for the news

So for now I cannot accept the news wholly until NCAA, FAAN or Ministry of Aviation whom I all follow on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter announces it.

Meanwhile thanks for sharing

@Justwise @Duchess @Mimilyrics @Lalablink

Please I some answers because its a matter of some urgency.

Will it be a problem if the name in my bank account name is one name short from my International passport?.

Let me break it down.
The name on my bank account is the same on my documents including school credentials, both birth certificate.

But my international passport had an additional name(English). I did affidavit of fact and also newspaper publication of the additional name.

So I want to know if the discrepancy in my bank account name and international passport would be a problem during my visa application.

I tried contacting my bank in Nigeria to add the English name to my BVN but the process requires my presence

Thank you so much. I do appreciate

dduchess90:
@Donracy, you have all the response you need and pointers on where information was gotten. If you are still worried, you can send an email citing all theses references from IOM and the closed airspace border to the school rep on your decision to do or not to do the TB test and submit your documents from the UAE.
Again as everyone has suggested be sincere and address the Canadian refusal in your application. Make sure your documents and information are authentic and genuine. Do not be worried about your view as a Nigerian in UAE with recent developments, systems are in place to appeal if anything goes wrong which i doubt.

All the best

So I don't need the TB test even if I land in naija now bah?

mimilyrics:
It doesn't matter where the bank statement is from; UKVI has trusted means of checking the authenticity of submitted bank statements as long as the bank is not on the list of unacceptable banks.
Address your Canadian refusal, you can include an introduction letter from your company in the UAE (if you're being granted study leave, it should be stated on the letter), know what your post-study plans are and pls don't be generic.
Going all the way to Nigeria is not necessary and is gonna be kinda stressful, given the current situation (TB test isn't also required, don't burn money biko) but if you decide to go to Nigeria to apply, go for it. The choice is ultimately yours.

Thank you so much. I'll have to contact the school rep tomorrow then.

I'll let you guys know of the outcome and decision later
God bless.

Yes, in your shoes, that's what I'd do.
To save you time since you have absolutely no idea when you will be able to get to Nigeria.

Alright thank you guys for the heads up.

Same thing I was thinking. But the fear of being refused again is making not to take chances.

Skymoore1004:
That school rep is wrong.
It doesn’t matter the account you use, as long as it’s yours.
Secondly U.K. has nothing with family ties.
They don’t decide on applications on that as Canada.

I will say you should save yourself the stress & apply from UAE. I may be wrong but I’m sure you can still use a naira account even though you’re applying somewhere else.

What's done is done, but it makes no difference - Tier 4 is points-based, once you garner the requisite number of points by satisfying the requirements, glaring deficiencies in your profile excepted (such as adverse immigration history), you're home free. Ties and suchlike not taken into consideration as for visitor's visa.

You'd have had a hand just as strong had you applied from the UAE.

I think you'll have to take the TB test once you're applying from Nigeria, so in your shoes, I'd take the TB test in the IOM in the UAE, because we've no idea when Nigeria's borders will be reopened or how soon you can get a TB test when you do get here (I gather there's quite some demand this period), so its best you land with you paperwork ready to put in your application.

So in essence you advise I do the TB test here before coming back?

If you're a legal UAE resident, you can apply from there and hence avail of the exemption for UAE residents.
Unless you're going to be using a bank statement of a parent domiciled in Nigeria?

@Mimilyrics @Cyberknight

Yes, the bank statement I am using is my Nigeria account. I transferred my funds to the naija account as per the directives of my school rep.

Reason why the school rep asked me to apply from Nigeria was because I was refused Canada study visa last year on the grounds of family ties. So I was advised to apply from Nigeria to avoid further refusals.

@Mimilyrics, @Justwise, @dduchess

Please I need some clarification and guidance from you guys.

I am a resident of UAE(Dubai) and Nigerian. I work and live here.

I got admission to study MSc. Occupational Safety, Health and Wellbeing at Cardiff Met. University for this Sept/October intake.

I am supposed to come back to Nigeria to apply for my Tier 4 visa but there has been delay due to the fact that Nigeria has not yet resumed international flights.

My question is; do you think it's wise for me to do my TB test here and then apply for the Visa in Nigeria. Will that be acceptable? Though UAE residents and citizens are exempt from the TB test, but since I am to apply from Nigeria, I have to do it.

But with the uncertainty concerning international flights and info I see here about people getting booked for the TB test with possible available dates very far.

I don't want to be left behind pending when they open International space.

Thanks in anticipation.

In coming weeks TLScontact would be accepting new visa applications.

That's a relief from the British High Commission to Nigeria

I lifted this from a university WhatsApp group. I don't think flight operations is a criteria for the TLS opening as speculated in the last few days. India borders are closed but applications are open

You are right, but not anymore. Flight fares has been hiked due to covid-19.

Zeecos:

One way tickets are generally almost the same as a return ticket. Its usually cheaper to book a return.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 9:58pm On Jul 05, 2020
Exactly, but from the look of things, it will be more expensive now

mattfeuter:

Infact , you can get a return flight from Dubai to Lagos for less than 200k before corona
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 8:28pm On Jul 05, 2020
On a normal basis highest with Ethiopia airline going back to naija from here is not up to 130k

LagosismyHome:

Normally how much is this flight?.....

I think a lot of companies generally will raise prices to recover all these coronavirus palava. Yet salaries will stay the same angry
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 7:21pm On Jul 05, 2020
Ethiopia Airline just replied my DM on Twitter now with their flight fares and dates. Starting from July 20th. But menh. The fares nobi here. Just one way trip from Dubai to Lagos is 300k plus....

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 4:52pm On Jul 05, 2020
I asked the customer rep. but no response yet. So that means no confirmation of flight schedule on such date.

Mikeval001:
Was the ticket price stated? If yes,how much?

mattfeuter:

London Heathrow wasn’t shut as well lol

I agree with you , the Nigerian government isn’t to be trusted,

They said airport is closed but international flights are coming in back to back just like every other day.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 11:18am On Jul 05, 2020
I am as ready as an athlete ready for the whistle. My only delay now is the International flight to come back home.

Thanks God will make a way.

garuskoko:

All I can say now is that all students should get ready as much as they can. The airlines obviously know many things we don't know.
For some reason, the Nigerian Government is not straightforward in all these.

When the embassy start receiving applications, the amount of application that will come in in the first couple of days will be like releasing ants from a anthill.

Stay strong, get prepared, don't spend the money in your account, target to be the first person to apply. Wish you all the best.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 11:16am On Jul 05, 2020
So why are they still doing repatriation flights even few days ago from London since our international airports we're not shut?

This whole thing is not straightforward. I've never seen a country as Nigeria. Twisting everything always.

They sha should open our international space so I can jet down and process my visa before it's late jareh.

mattfeuter:

The international airport was never shut down,

I think most of these confusion is really about the local flights.

As I type this , Kenya airways just arrived Murtala Airport.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 10:31am On Jul 05, 2020
I contacted Ethiopian Airlines today via twitter to know their flight dates because I need to fly down from Dubai to Lagos for my visa application and TB test, they told me that they have flight schedule for July 16th to Lagos. But it's subject to change should Federal Government imposes a restriction and I have been thinking. Is there anything Federal Government is not telling us?

garuskoko:
Why is Ethiopian airline advertising flights from Lagos to London on 16th July?? Nigerian Government has not lifted ban on international flights. Or is there something they know that we don't know? The seats on the flight is remaining 3.

In all of these, students shouldn't be caught unawares. It will be too expensive for many people.

KellyEyimofe:
New Vignettes issued post covid are 90 instead of the traditional 30days.

Airlines like Ethiopian Air, Turkish and British Airways have start dates from 2nd August.

Recall Ist of July government announcement on current phase of lockdown ease is for one month, probably take off of international flights will be mentioned on the Ist of August to commence next day.

Not sure about staff being out of country, people who had biometrics done around March, have decisions being made on their application currently and passports returned to them.

Uk VAC recently opened two centers for new applications , primarily for students hoping to start in universities in September.

Which of the VACs are open for New Applications please for students primarily?

Because from the TLSContact websites for Abuja, Lagos(VI & Ikeja) what I am seeing are only open for passport returns.
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Donracy: 12:29pm On Jul 02, 2020
Oh I see.
The only advantage is the ample opportunity for one to work and pay tuition fees without much struggles. Other than that is just staying longer in a course you could finish within 8-10months

Skymoore1004:
January intake is around 16-18 months with the same tuition fee as 12 months September intake
