Good Morning Domainers,

I will like to make us understand something this morning which I think will benefit a lot of people. So I went through my watchlist to analyse which of the domains that were dropcaught by fellow domainers have been sold and which have been developed into a website but unfortunately many are still in the domainers portfolio, some have even reduced the price as low as $100. I can't possibly imagine myself buying a domain for $59 and still selling it for $100. It's just absurd. Then there are some people, you dropcatch domains, then you place unrealistic prices on them. How do you expect to sell Baltimore/marketing/agency/KING for $1999? Who will buy that from you? Common, we need to look at things from a new perspective. 2021 is almost here and honestly, I feel people should think well before drop catching a name, it's becoming rampant nowadays and if we are not careful, we will just be wasting money with low ROI.

please guys i submitted a name as an unregistered to SH and it was approved as a creative owned,though the name has been submitted before and now its still available for registration,what do i do in this situation?

You may be right, somewhat, but not entirely. This is talking from the perspective of a Nigerian.

If we bash DAN, what's the better option for us.

I just found out about Epik's connection to neo-Nazis (and white supremacists).

Selling on almost all other marketplaces is also like a loss because they'd want to pay to your bank account - at what rate?

In my opinion, I think the fellow would have done better directing his anger at DAN, privately.

I noticed something in this business, those oyinbo people like honest people even if you are Nigerian not until you are using VPN or Oyinbo name. With your real name and maybe foreign number from Dingtone Incase they want to call you plus good domain name, you are good to be making sales. Good Luck to us all.

Aww! Thanks. The thing is not easy. Submitted a name to BrandBucket for close to two weeks now no response. SquadHelp reject everything I throw. Thinking of registering some myself.

So, what are some of the differences between the 2 major brandable marketplaces;
Squadhelp and Brandbucket, ( This one is too elaborate for me to type) but Brandbucket names are more orthodox and professional than SH names which cater mostly to "newer" and modern companies branding requirements. although brandbucket has been going bullish on two word .io and other newer trends (non .com , .io , .vc) in recent weeks.

What are some of the differences between their philosophies?
I think brand bucket mostly caters to more established companies and Squadhelp is more the serial entrepreneur type of names

What types of names do they approve?

Squadhelp like uplifting and positive names. and they give guidance so you should check out their latest submission guidelines.


How does brand bucket arrive at their pricing?

if you have noticed you will see that Brandbucket prices and sales are generally higher than Squadhelp for the "same type" of name (my opinion) , so I was trying to come up with a rough guideline on how to properly price my names outside the brandable marketplace, I asked this question to Keith about the pricing because I saw names on Brandbucket that were $3k - $5k and those names will be $1500 to $2000 on Squadhelp.

Which auction markets can we get domains @ discount prices?
Dynadot , NameLiquidate , dropcatch and other lesser known auction sites. the lesser the people, the more you can find hidden gems. I think porkbun expired names now go through dynadot auctions , Uniregistry expired names also used to go through dynadot but since Godaddy acquired Uniregistry, they have taken over expired Uniregistry domains to Godaddy auctions now.

Rob and Epik has been in the news for some time for different reasons. Recent was Dan, then the PayPal ban and their reply to it. That being said, he and his team have a wonderful product in Epik and Masterbucks. Plus his promos, support for Naija domainers.

I love Epik.

It's one of the reasons my domains are mainly pointed to his marketplace. Having a Nigerian as his Escrow Manager says a lot about how he view us. Besides, he normally has one or two good things to say about Nigerian domainers. That alone is an excellent way of marketing us positively to the rest of the world.

There's this particular domain of mine almost a month now the buyer, I don't know what happened. It's neither here nor there after agreement but Epik has taken over and are helping me facilitate the completion of the transaction. Hopefully by next week, the deal will be completed. Frankly, apart from 17 domains I now have at SquadHelp, all others are now at home in Epik
