The immediate past National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said he has accepted the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to dissolve the National Working Committee (NWC) which he chaired until Thursday.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Saturday, Oshiomhole said he has also asked his lawyers to withdraw his suit at the supreme court.

The former Edo governor was challenging a court of appeal order upholding his suspension as the national chairman of the party.

Oshiomhole said he has taken the dissolution of the NWC in good faith, and that he has no regrets over the decisions he took while he was the national chairman of the party.

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who is reacting for the first time to the crisis that eventually led to dissolution of the NWC of the party, pledged his continued support and loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, said President Muhammadu Buhari had two years ago invited him to come and reposition the APC and that since the president in his wisdom has also agreed to the dissolution of the NWC, he is bound to obey him as the leader of the party.

With Oshiomhole’s acceptance of the dissolution it is expected that there will be no court case to challenge the action of the National Executive Committee that also constituted a National Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee headed by Yobe State Governor to pilot the affairs of the party.

Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress(APC) led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has issued Certificate of Returns to Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the Gubernatorial Candidate of the party in Edo State.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Working Committee led by former Oyo Governor and Deputy National Chairman (South), Abiola Ajimobi, has taken over the party’s National Secretariat as Acting Chairman.

Deputy Vice-Chairman (South-South), Hillary Eta, who addressed the media in the absence of the ailing Ajimobi, announced the reversal of the cancellation of the screening of the governorship aspirants in Edo State.

Hilliard said Victor Giadom has no such locus to emerge Acting Chairman of the party because he has long resigned his membership of the National Working Committee to seek election as Deputy Governor last year in Rivers State.

The Ajimobi-led APC faction has subsequently appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, as the Chairman of its Edo State Governorship Primary election.

Fifteen out of the 20-member All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) dismissed the claim of Hon. Victor Giadom as the Acting National Chairman of the Party.

The Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Giadom has cancelled the screening for the Edo State governorship primary.

Addressing newsmen at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, he declared that the appointment of Senator Abiola Ajimobi as acting national chairman of the party cannot stand on the basis that it is illegal and unconstitutional.

The Rivers State-born APC chieftain referred to a subsisting court order issued on the 16 of March 2020 by Justice S.U Bature in suit no FCT /HC/M/6447/2020 as the basis for his ascension to the office of the Acting Chairman of the APC.

He argued that order could not be immediately effected at that time because of the temporary reprieve Adams Oshiomhole got from the court of appeal on the same day.

Giadom, flanked by the deputy national organising secretary, Muhammed Sani Ibrahim, further declared the disqualification of Governor Godwin Obaseki from contesting in the Edo state governorship primaries as null and void.

He thereby directed governorship aspirants of the party in Edo state to report to the national secretariat of the party in Abuja between today and tomorrow to come for a fresh screening exercise in line with the party constitution.

Giadom, who claimed the decision was in tandem with the wishes of the members of the APC national working committee (NWC), declared that Emmanuel Ibediro ceases to be the national organising secretary of the party in line with an Abuja court order.

Residents of Epe have called on the Lagos State government to help fix the bad portions of Epe-Lekki Expressway that has slowed down vehicular movement and economic activities on the axis. They made this known as they blocked the popular T Junction, the entry point into Epe Town. Protesters made up of Drivers, Transport union members, Traders and other residents noted that the deplorable state of the road has caused lots of hardship to people living on the axis. They also said that many industries are adversely affected by the poor state of the road. The road leading from Lekki down to Epe has been very terrible. It has become very difficult for cars to pass through the road. It is affecting economic activities and quality of life. Many hours are spent on this road now and it is visibly affecting the vehicles that ply the road. This area harbors notable companies like the Lekki free trade zone, Dangote refinery including more industries springing up. Heavy duty trucks plying the road cause a lot of damage to the fragile asphalts that was laid on the road. Residents say the measures government is taking are not really effective. They put sand on the bad spots but once it rains, everything is washed away.
