The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District and a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Sikiru Oshinowo is dead.

Unconfirmed report stated that the politician, who was a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly for four consecutive terms from 2003 to 2019, died of the dreaded COVID-19 this morning.

According to report, the senator popularly called Pepper tested possitive to COVID-19 last week,though it was not disclosed to the public. 

Until his demise, he was the Chairman House Committee on Commerce, Industrial and Investment in the Senate. 

Details of the location of the death and the exact time of his demise were still sketchy at press time.

69 people are confirmed killed, one thousand two hundred  (1200) cattle and camels were rustle and one hundred and twenty five (125) cattles feard killed when Boko Haram attacked Faduma koloram, Zowo ward of Gubio local goverment area of Borno state.
This is according to resident, Civilian JTF, and military sources.


The incident occured at about 12:00pm in  Faduma Koloram zuwa ward of Gubio local government area of Borno state today, Tuesday afternoon killing 69 persons, set the village ablaze and rustle thousands of their livestook.


Meanwhile the Borno state Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has since gone to the village to ascertain the level of the destruction.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a Screening Committee made up of some academics, lawyers and politicians to screen the incumbent Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and five other aspirants.
Speaking in Abuja at the inauguration ceremony, APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said the party is determined to avoid a repeat of the Bayelsa experience where the court nullified its victory due to the credentials of the party’s deputy governorship candidate.
While asking members of the committee to be thorough in their duties, Oshiomhole said that the Bayelsa experience was partly responsible for the display of aspirants’ credentials at the National Secretariat under the tag of claims and objection.
The seven-member Screening Committee has Professor Jonathan Ayuba as Chairman and Dr Rabe Nasir as Secretary.

Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has resumed at the National Assembly for work at the Senate. This is the first time since his release from Kuje Prison where he was serving a 12-year sentence.
The former Abia state governor arrived at the National Assembly premises at 9.37am on Tuesday.
Responding to questions, Senator Kalu who is the Senate Chief Whip said he was happy to be back at the Senate.
How sweet to be a free man. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was released on Wednesday the 3rd of June 2020 after a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ordered his release after the Supreme Court nullified his 12-year sentence.
The Senator was convicted in December 2019 for alleged looting of N7.65Billion.

Determined to rid Ogun state of criminal elements, the State Police Command have arrested 31 suspects across the state for various offences ranging from cultism to vandalism, robbery and murder.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Abeokuta, the state capital, Commissioner of Police, CP Kenneth Ebrimson said the suspects were arrested through intensified crime fighting, intelligence gathering and community policing system.

Giving a breakdown of the arrest, CP Ebrimson said four members of a notorious cult group who have been terrorising residents of Ijebu Ode area of the state were taken into custody after a burst up at their hideout.

The suspects are Adewale Adeoye popularly known as Sixteen, Ibrahim Raimi, Bamidele Benzon, Bolaji Oluwole a.k.a J Boy an ex-convict, Muritala Azeez and Jamiu.

One of the suspects, Adewale Adeoye confessed to being a notorious cultist; and that he had killed three people.
Speaking further, CP Ebrimson asked for residents support on information gathering, adding that the war on criminals will be taken to their door steps.
He said that there will be no room for criminality in ogun state.

Hello Sir,
I have this one dream I have been dreaming since I became an adult and start living on my own with my nuclear family. My old man was a soldier and growing up, we lived in different homes inside different barracks in different states. But I keep seeing myself in this particular house we stayed for about two years in Ikeja cantonment where I did my last two years of high school. I always return to that house with my Dad and Step Mum still acting as my parents. I mean, I could be a grown up with cars and children and maybe even moving with big political figures but when I say I want go home it is that particular house I enter and my Dad and stepmum still act as my parents. I could even be abroad and when vI want to go to my house in that abroad, I find myself in the same house with the same people. I am always worried when I wake up cause I feel I should not be having my Dad and Step Mum still bossing me. Meanwhile. I had a hell of a life as a kid as Mum died at my age 6, so Step Mum and Dad made life traumatic on Earth for me until I left home after high school and this is been 20 years after. Both are still alive and in the Village but I wish I could stop having that dream.

Lagos Police Arrested Suspect seen kissing a minor in a viral video
Attention of Lagos State Police Command was drawn to a viral video showing one Adeyeye Oluwatosin Babatunde ‘m' of Kajola Street, Shagamu, Ogun State, a Botany student of Lagos State University, kissing his three years old step sister (name withheld). The incident happened on 02/6/2020 in their residence at Shagamu.
2. The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc tasked detectives from the Gender Unit to analyse the video and apprehend the suspect. The team got the suspect on 5/6/2020 at about 1100 hours. He is handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba for diligent prosecution in Court.

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, has called on the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, not to interfere with the June 22 governorship primary in Edo state.

Obaseki disclosed this on Wednesday when he submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination form at the party national Secretariat in Abuja.



He called on Comrade Oshiomhole to recluse himself from the Edo nomination process saying that he is an interested party.


Obaseki expressed confidence that he will win the APC primaries regardless of the mode chosen for the primaries in Edo.

According to him, he and his colleague Governors paid a visit to the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, as part of efforts to strengthen the party and reassure him that they remained committed to building the party.


He also denied claims that he purchased Governorship nomination forms for the Peoples Democratic Party, insisting he is a party man to the core.

Presenting the food items and relief material to Enugu government, the leader of the group, Toyosi Ogunsuji, informed that the idea was out of the desire by their founder to meet the critical needs of the less privileged citizens in society who may have been adversely affected by the lockdown.

There have been insinuations in certain quarters that the APC Governors went to Beg on behalf of the Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu ,who led six other Governors to a meeting with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole has clarified that the meeting was not in continuation with the meeting it had in Lagos with APC National Leader, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to him , the Governors came to discuss a number of issues that has piled up since their last meeting in March and that are of interest to the party.

Among the governor that attended the meeting are Rotimi Akeredolu SAN of Ondo, Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Plateau State, Simon Lalung, governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje, Abulramam Abdulrazak of Kwara, and governor of Gombe State, Mohammed Inuwa Yayaya.

Briefing newsmen shortly after a closed door meeting with some serving governors of the party led by governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, Oshiomohle said governor Godwin Obaseki did not reject the direct primary officially.

However, while he insisted on direct primary for Edo Oshiomhole tactfully left the coast wide for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, saying no decision has been made in respect of the mode of the primary to be used in Ondo State.

Justifying his position on Edo,he said the party has while giving INEC the mandatory 21 day notice for the June 22 primary in Edo state, categorically stated the mode of the primary.

135 Covid-19 Patients Recover In Borno

The Borno state government said it has discharged 135 Covid-19 patients after testing negative.

This development was made known to journalists by the Borno state Deputy governor Alhaji Umar Kadafur in Maiduguri.

He said the patients have been discharged after they tested negative to the virus and have fully recovered.

The Deputy Governor who is also the the Chairman, Committee on Response and Prevention of COVID-19, described the development as a tremendous success in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

He commended  the efforts of the task force committee and was delighted by the successes recorded so far in the fight against the novel caronavirus. He also appreciated the heath workers for working tirelessly in containing the pandemic.

He assured of the commitment of the government towards improving the welfare of the frontline workers who remained in the forefront in preventing the spread of the virus.

The Deputy Governor advised the people to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 preventive protocols to mitigate and completely eradicate the virus in the state.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has inaugurated the 13-kilometre Nike Lake Junction-Harmony Estate-Amorji Nike- Adoration Pilgrimage Centre –Orie Emene road.

It’s newly constructed across the thick forest of Umuchigbo community in Enugu East Local Government Area of the state.

The virgin road constructed with lined drains and five river crossings, including culverts and bridges, now links the ever-busy and thickly populated Abakpa Nike with Emene satellite town.

Expressing joy during the inauguration of the project, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, described the road as unprecedented and a miracle.

Fr. Mbaka disclosed that “this ultra-modern road built by the Governor of Enugu State, our beloved Gburugburu, before now was a thick forest”, stressing: “There was no road of any kind here before now. The governor started it from the bush clearing to this asphalting level. In fact, this road is a miracle”.

Inaugurating the road, Gov. Ugwuanyi stated that the project was conceived as the first bypass to ease the traffic flow in Enugu East Senatorial Zone including the interstate vehicular movements on the recommendation of the Enugu State Urban Renewal Committee.

The governor said that the bypass opens up development at the Harmony Estate and also provides access to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu currently undergoing massive rehabilitation.

He added that the completion of the entire road project was consistent with his administration’s procurement policy of ‘start-to-finish’, noting that the stretch from Airport roundabout to Eke Obinagu in Emene was also duly completed and inaugurated.

The governor pointed out that the project will help to inflate the local economy and open a new economic corridor through stimulation of commerce and creation of employment/job opportunities for the teeming youths.

Ogbete Main Market Decontaminated

Enugu State Fire Service, on Saturday, commenced the decontamination and fumigation of Ogbete Main Market, Enugu.


It would be recalled that the state fire service carried out the first phase of the exercise in the market on April 1, 2020, shortly after it was shut down by the state government as part of the safety measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the state.


During the first phase of the decontamination of the market, monitored by Gov. Ugwuanyi and heads of security agencies in the state, the State Chief Fire Officer, Engr. Okwudiri Ohaa, hinted newsmen that the state government will fumigate major markets in the state before they are reopened.


Addressing newsmen during the second phase of the decontamination, at Ogbete Main Market, Engr. Ohaa disclosed that the exercise will last for two days (Saturday and Sunday).


He added that the state government has been consistent with the exercise to ensure that “the fight against COVID-19 is won in Enugu State
