gidgiddy:I think most of us from the East don't do much work as it regards understanding the make up of the socalled North. I served with an Igede guy and we nearly fought one day I tried to tie him and Benue state to the core north and this happened at in the north. The middle belt is like the South South. Most ordinary folks there have their own views of things while the dominant political elite is a creation of the core north caliphate. The David Marks, Audu Ogbe and the Suswans.. the core north made them what they are today.. They elites parrot the One North mantra while the ordinary folks face the Fulani and his matchete in the rural areas. Idomas are not really northerners. But fighting with the fulanis during the war seem to have cemented their status as northerners in the minds of easterners. The Sarduana carried out a genocide against The Tivs in the 50s for their "insubordination". Essentially they are northerners today because its the core north that plays the piper politically at the moment. |
huptin:Is this country still a secular state as enshrined in the constitution if one of the constituent states can whimsically impose her preferred religion as the state religion!? Is that how federalism works in your own dictionary? |
SirBlack999:We have been a bit unfortunate with carbon discoveries in Igboland. Oil was discovered few years towards independence and this made Nigeria very palatable for other sections of the country like the North and the West that had absolutely nothing significant then other than some moribund groundnut pyramids and austere Cocoa harvests. With the help of Zik who wanted a One Africa government, these groups found Nigeria attractive, Inspite of their disdain for their fellow countrymen. At the start of the war, these groups were able to negotiate with the imperialist Britain to unleash genocide in the East and take control of the oil resources. It has been going ever since. Now, with oil running out, and different parts of the country agitating for the break up of Nigeria, all of a sudden the government found gas in very high quantity in the East again. Now, the Buharis administration is desperately trying to tie eastern gas development to Western conglomerates through the Fulani, essentially making the gas deposits inn the East the property of Western companies managed by the Fulani oligarchs in Nigeria. Igbos seem to be a bit unaware of this and our fixation on trading seem to cause us to forget that with the gas in Igbo land, we can easily leapfrog above our peers, irrespective of the setbacks of the war.. imagine where oil in Nigeria was discovered say in 1980 or gas ten years from now.. Buhari is constructing the AKS pipeline that he claims will go to Europe from the heart of igboland. Most of the gas will come from Imo state and Abia state. I think that those pipelines will end in Niger republic. The just added Europe to fool warry Nigerians.. They're constructing as we speak. From this project, there will be 3 gas powered power station at Abuja, Kaduna and Kano. Totalling 10,000 MW. Maybe another in Niger republic, who knows? But NONE in either Imo state or Anambra state where the gas will come from! This is the kind of scotched earth policies the Fulani imperialists under this evil regime are propagating all over the East and we still have igbos trying to "intellectualise" this nonsense.. |
huptin:Stop providing cheap excuses for some utterly incompetent politicians. Obasanjo was not forced to take over. He campaigned vigorously to be president. Constitutionally , Nigeria is a secular state! So if a State governor starts to impose a sectarian religion on his state, as the commander in chief with all the coercive instruments of the state at his beck and call, Obasanjo should have taken actions to stop that. He dropped the ball there because he was selfish and a northern slave! That's the blunt fact.. |
I think one of the major problems effecting Gernot Rohrs Super Eagles is the useless Lagos stadium they play at these days. I don't know why the Lagos state government insisted on taking over from Akwa Ibom that has better facilities. The team members have complained about that pitch several times but Nigerians always make it look like they're giving excuses. The fact is that that pitch is not upto international standards. You can easily notice how balls bounce awkwardly on the pitch just watching form your TV. Rohr complained, Balogun complained and I think that lately, they just resigned themselves to fate. The super Eagles played much better at the Akwa Ibom stadium that stadium is most probably the best in the country. They also play better in away matches compared to how the play at Lagos. Also remember that almsot half of the Super Eagles contingent these days are made up of players born outside the country. These guys are actually not "Nigerians" in the real sense of it , so expecting them to "acclimatize" so easily and quickly with our konkiri pitches might not be the best thing to do.. |
sulaak:Civil war? North would have easily won? Because it's their birthright to win wars or what? How exactly will that have led to a war if handled smartly? So whatever the North wants it gets because we're afraid of wars the the gods have destined them to always win? Do you even understand that it was Obasanjos lack of action against yerima in Zamfara that emboldened other northern State governors to follow suit and declare Sharia? Ahbegii... |
This tout has been president of Nigeria for over decade! He was president as a young man and came back as an older man with a lot of "experience", but yet could not correct whatsoever that are the mistakes he saw from the sidelines. This guy allowed the Sharia nonsense to gain ground in the North through Zamfara. That's how Boko Haram started and the general insecurity in the North followed. Everybody in the country begged him to stop Yerima from politicizing Sharia, yet after thousands were killed over the Sharia riots, he lifted no finger to stop that! Obasanjo is Evil. He knows all the problems of the country. He knows all the solutions and answers to those problems. But make him the president for a thousand times, he won't solve them, because he's part of the problem! He prefers to pontificate from Otta farm.. |
People don't realize it but the biggest problem facing governance in Nigeria is the civil service. Badly recruited, badly trained, badly remunerated, eternally corrupt! Nigerias civil service is actually nonexistent. You need to experience the civil service at work elsewhere to understand the rot..No matter how good the intentions of a politician, if you have to deliver through mess of a civil service like Nigerias, you're bound to fail. Matters are not helped when politicians intentionally flood the service with party urchins and ethnic henchemen.. |
So for 15 solid year, these beutiful people have been kept in detention by a wicked Nigerian state that keeps Boko Haram insurgents in 5 star hotels? |
SlyDev:Yeah Right! If it's Brazilians or Americans speaking mgbati mgbati now, your take will be different.. We know you.. |
He must be on his way for this interview when he was waylayed by those cows few days ago. Noisy charlatans that were already hyjacking the political structure in the East before the coming of IPOB |
SlyDev:You will always approach every igbo topic from the pettiest of angles. If it was a drug story now, you will be alllover the place snarling like a hyena in heat.. |
A clueless platoon of eternally blundering neanderthals.. |
jmoore: ![]() But seriously, how did you in particular become so virulently anti Igbo? I used to read you a lot here.. You sounded very reasonable. I mean, it's like the qualification for becoming a BMC is to discard any shred of sanity in this shameless haunt for the Igbo. The speed with which APC diehards morph into anti igbo campaigners from their anti ipob rants is startling.. |
jmoore:IPOB is also responsible for barrenness in Nigeria.. |
Obatala7Kronos:Lol Like Hushpuppy? Like the underwear bomber?? Or like this Adewales who beheaded a British veteran on the streets of London to glorify Nigerias image? Is Shekau an Igbo? Can you point to any igboman that has brought more shame to your shameless Lugardian contraption than this your terrorist brothers?

backbencher:Have we not heard this before? Is there even a real subsidy? Is this not a hoax? The same people that argued that the socalled subsidy was non existent few years back, are the people fighting for the removal of the subsidy today! Where did the epiphany happen? And why is the government and her agencies more interested in pilling up the enermous burden of economic trauma on the people? Why is nobody talking of reducing the cost of governance? Recurrent expenditure is at all times high but the government is not bothered! Remove the subsidy to have enough money to pay some ineffective civil servants whose yearly emoluments are now basically consuming the whole budget? Who are the owners of the oil blocs being auctioned off by the presidency like a bazaar? Can't that process be managed to earn more for the state? Is it not obvious the government doesn't care about the level of poverty in the land? |
Few years ago, this administration raised the prices of petroleum products under the guise of removing the much vaunted fuel subsidy! So what subsidy was removed then and what subsidy are they about to remove again? |
If igbos leave , They can't point to a marshy piece of swamp space in Lagos and tell you they are selling it for hundreds of millions of naira again. Who's going to be buying their flooded lagoons for prices bigger than beachfront estates in Dubai apart from the same igbos they like to hate? |
Sylva NC keeps presenting himself as if he has anything whatsoever to do with the decision making process in Nigerias oil industry.. Gas price increases coupled with the so called oil subsidy removal will ultimately push the people to the wall in an election year in which the presidential election is bound to produce an unpopular candidate..... Folks like Sylva are the real problem of this country.Very shallow minded man with no iota of principles providing all the political cover needed by a despot to thrive... Keeps taking decisions that favor others at the detriment of his own people, just because he was appointed to a ceremonial position.. |
This could not have happened when South Sudan and North Sudan were in the same country. People of the North are starting to ask basic questions because there are no more South Sudan oil money to subsidize the governments maladministration... No more common enermy. The Army is finding it hard to kill off the protesters because the army is now more or else a native Army. You shoot into a crowd and you may kill your brother or sister. Unlike when the south Sudanese were seen as urgent threats to be exterminated. Government has now been forced to listen and dialogue with the people. This is why nation steps thrive and most multi ethnic states struggle... I hope you guys can relate.. |

ajl:If you're from Okija and you're witnessing these double standards in terms of how the press encourage certain narratives injurious to your hometown while looking the other way with other communities, I bet your opinion will be different. You are upset with me because you're used to dishing it out. You ain't used to receiving until the coming of the internet... Overtime here, I have come to realize that some of you are just clannishly self centered in your outlook to life and have no regrets living your lives to the very end that way.. You only see other people's weaknesses. You don't and can't see yours. Same way you will cry foul whenever the names of Orji Kalu or James Ibori are mentioned but will start shouting "The Jagaban of Africa" once Tinubus name is muted! These are lootocrats! But you don't mind yours! You are desperately trying to normalize his iniquitous pedigree, Yet you want others of the same vile resume killed.. What kind of human beings are you then? Do you think the world revolves around you only? |
ba7man:How will you blame me when you proudly project a renowned drug Barron as your South West leader....? Ko easy.. |
ba7man:Atleast they are not mining human heads for fun... |
Dude was most probably killed for all those their primitive cult related butchery that happens in that part of the country. That hotel might be a "headhunting" front all along. Primitive cult killings used to be a common occurance around the country, but it has abated in certain areas as a result of growing rejection. The problem here is that when a people defend all sorts base-primitive practices as symbols of their culture, things like these thrive.. Imagine the hassles that come with the Oro festival and this iyala oja nonsense in this century? What it means is that if the Oro festival needs human heads to be consumated, it is actually culturally permissable to do so. In which case head hunting will continue to be a lucrative business. That is the foundation of the whole Evil realities.. He might not have been killed for money making but surely has something to do with one moribund cultural practice.. |
DarkJeddi:You can shout yourself hoarse, in the end you will all feel the heat and nobody rests until the right thing is done... |
Thiwalade:I'm just entertaining your uncouth vituperations for the nuisance value. Nothing else! You obviously are too full of it. The issues you're desperate to pontificate on are all way above your pay grade. I don't care about what you post or how you post. If as a Yoruba boy, you feel that Nigeria is working out fine the way it's, I don't begrudge you. You obviously have your standards deep inside the latrine, but hey, it's your kettle of fish.. Just stop trying to lecture me on how to see Nigeria as an Igbo man, because I know how Nigeria sees me more than you! We don't suffer the same desease in this desease infested hellhole of a country so we shouldn't react the same way... Any igboman who acts all fine and gentle in the face of the ceaseless provocations, taunts, humiliations and uncouth insults that is buharis regime against the Igbo nation, needs to do some soul searching! The Igbo man is under attack from all fronts under this regime and this has happened many times in the past. It's the duty of this generation of igbos to put an immediate end to this nonsense. If treacherous interlopers like you don't feel comfortable with this, then do the needful by supporting the Igbo to leave your beutiful country. But don't you ever try to lay down a "code of conduct" for me to follow while you join hands with the Fulani to loot the former Eastern Nigeria. Equating obedience and compliance to wayward dictatorship as maturity is simply evil. Quietness here is a sign of servitude and not a mark of personal sophistication! Stick to what you know and have peace..It's that simple.. |
FlipModeSquade:Your Buhari is already talking about releasing him. If we followed your tactics, nothing will be achieved. Igbos have been following your placid lukewarm approach to national issues for the better part of 5 decades, we all can see how good it turned out. .. We know your type.. Once again let me inform you: most of Nnamdi Kanus followers are far more monied, far more educated and far more travelled than an unknown quantity like you and there lies the irony in your earlier post.. |
FlipModeSquade:Most of these people you called touts and urchins in capital letters are far more educated, travelled and richer than you... So what does that say about you? |
Thiwalade:The problem with your post is that you will never say anything like this in a similar thread about otokoto or okija shrine! Endless threads like that and all you do is to watch as your kind try all sorts of demarketing antics against a group. The new one is to paint Igbo a tribe of drug dealers. What have you said about that? Where you come from , you guys chose when to be reasonable, when to be honest and when to be stewpid! It's not done that way. We should know you for something... I said the truth and will repeat same many times tiill I knock that inside your tribal head.. Mgbu |
