This nonsense should stop! I have lived in the north for years! By far, the North has some of the best general hospitals in West Africa! Quote me! The best and most equiped teaching hospitals! They have some of the best roads too. Go to the Daurra hospital. A doctor friend worked there and it totally changed the way he looks at Nigeria. Most of the services for the ordinary people are free! Ditto every part of the core north. I mean most poor patients go to the hospital and get treated while the local government pays for that! I have seen this a thousand times with my own eyes. You read the governor of Borno complaining the other day that hospital workers were charging patients money for medical fees that should be free? Show me any part of the south where the government pays medical bills for her citizens! You guys should stop making it look like the north is a basket case.

The north is far ahead of the south in terms of government amenities! Sure fact. I was in a place in the North the other time where the post office and all that looked brand new! The ones in Imo State all folded up over 20 years ago. Roads are of quality!! Local Governments even share cash to some local citizens while the state governments do the infastructure works. Power bills are extremely low and won't be paid when high. They're seldom disconnected. Places like Gombe and Yobe have more power supply than say Anambra or Delta. Now they have railways and government built airports. How many international airports in the north? I don't want to talk of the food. That one will make you cry if you're from the south. Food is extremely cheap in the north when compared to the South. It makes the cost of living up north very low compared to the South! Infact, we live in two different countries. So if some of their hospitals are this neglected, check the population of the area. Most probably a northern minority population..

I served with about two doctors in rural Kano state! I know what I saw and what the doctors reported to us on daily basis. VVF is a pandemic in the north and this is highly avoidable if only people like you will stop doubling down on your insistence to marry children.

As a youth corper in Kano, I taught a class of female JUNIOR secondary school girls. SS1, SS2, SS3.. Most of them so tiny that I would be called a mad man if I'm seen around them in the East where I come from. But you know what? 90% were already betrothed to very older men,. I have been to almost all southern Nigerian cities from Lagos, Port Harcourt, to Onitsha.

In all of these cities and villages i visited, most southern Nigerian girls from primary school age "know men".

Yet, today I observed many southern Nigerian commenters on the above caption about northern girls under the age of 18 being married off with sanctimonious indignation.

Are these southern Nigerians unaware of the fornication going on among their sisters/daughters/nieces of primary/secondary school age or do they simply want to be hypocritical about it?

Otherwise, how can a man who lives in Lagos, Ibadan, Onitsha, PH, Owerri, Yenagoe has the temerity to put on a cassock and mount a pulpit to pontificate about fornication or even adultery? Haba, my compatriots from the South and East, let this hypocrisy stops please.

Eastern Nigeria needs to have western consulates there. Obviously people residing around Lagos get to access the services of these embassies and consulates easier and quicker. Every single Igbo man that travelled legitimately out of Nigeria MUST visit either Lagos or lately Abuja for his Visas! None of you non easterners have ever visited Enugu, Port Harcourt or Owerri for both your travelling papers or departure from Nigeria. This has taken it's tole overtime. I know of atleast 3 people who have died while either travelling down the East after landing in Lagos, or while running around to travel out..
None of you from the west or North go through these. These are basic obstacles that easterners face just to travel out of the country which have been normalized overtime..
