Simon Ekpa, one of the disciples
of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the
Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,
has revealed that the secessionist
group would soon launch its social
medial platform.

Ekpa, in a video on his official
Facebook page, said the move
became necessary due to hitches
from Facebook and Twitter while
disseminating vital information
that bothers on the Biafra
struggle.

The Finnish accused Facebook of
stopping him from going Live on
the medium, saying the platform
is frustrating their activities.

Facebook is frustrating everything

their community standard, we will
continue to use ‘enterbiafra’

Former Presidential aid, Reno
Omokri has expressed joy over
the rejection of Lauretta Onochie,
an aide to President Muhammadu
Buhari, by the Nigerian senate.

DAILY POST reported that the
senate had declined Lauretta
Onochie’s nomination as a
National Commissioner of the
Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC).

In a report by the Senate
Committee on INEC, Senator
Kabir Gaya said her nomination
breaches Federal Character
principles.

Kabir Gaya cited Section 14 (1) 3
of the Constitution, stating that
somebody was already a
Commissioner from her zone, and
the law remained clear about
that.

Reacting, Omokri via his Twitter
page, said INEC made the best
decision by dropping Lauretta
Onochid.

“I commend the Senate for
dropping Lauretta Onochie.

“I did not want to say anything
while the process was ongoing,
but by nominating such an odious
and pedestrian person, Buhari
showed that even the little
tolerance we have for him is
wasted. The man has no
honour,” he said.

PoliticsNigeria’s Policing System Has Failed To Solve Insecurity – Ekweremadu by Dovegrey(op): 2:05pm On Jul 12, 2021
Former Deputy President of the
Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, said in
Lagos on Monday that Nigeria’s
policing system had failed to
tackle insecurity.
Speaking on “Nigerian State and
the Call for Restructuring’’ at
the opening of Law Week 2021
of the Ikeja branch of the
Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)
Ekweremadu reiterated his call
for the decentralisation of the
police.
Ekweremadu said the
decentralisation of the police had
become expedient in the face of
the rising wave of banditry and
kidnapping across the country.
“Our policing system has failed
woefully. There are no other
federating states that have done
what we are doing in policing.
“It is no surprise that with the
capsizing of the national police,
the nation’s security has also
collapsed,’’ he said.
Ekweremadu said that
restructuring the police was no
longer a matter of choice but a
matter of urgency.
“In an instance where we have
decentralised police, we will have
a federal police system and 774
police systems in all the 774 local
governments in the 36 states and
in Abuja.
“The implication, therefore, is
that if the federal police fail, we
have additional layers in 36
states; but right now, they are
absent.
“Now that the federal policing
have collapsed because they do
not have the resources, the
funding and the manpower, there
is nothing to hold on to,
Ekweremadu stressed.

PoliticsINEC: APC Makes Clarification On Onochie Being Card-carrying Member by Dovegrey(op): 7:46pm On Jul 11, 2021
The All Progressives Congress,
APC, in Delta State has claimed
that Lauretta Onochie, Social
Media aide to President
Muhammadu Buhari, is not a card
carrying member of the party.
The party further asked the
Senate to ignore the protests and
plethora of petitions against
Onochie’s nomination.
Protests have greeted the
nomination of Onochie as
commissioner of the Independent
National Electoral Commission
(INEC) by President Mohammadu
Buhari.
The APC described as fictitious
and frivolous petition from a
senatorial district in Delta State
which has vehemently opposed
her nomination because she is
Anioma daughter.
In a communiqué at the end of a
meeting of APC leaders and
stakeholders in Delta north at the
weekend, the party said, “She is
a technocrat and has been part
of us and she is not a card-
carrying member of our party.”
Also, the communiqué signed by
Cyprian Ashibuogu, Clement
Ozegbe, Nkem Osu and Onyeisi
Nwokolobia called on the south
and central to support the quest
of Delta north to produce the
next APC governorship candidate
for the 2023 election.
The party argued that Anioma
nation has never contested the
governorship seat on the platform
of APC.https://dailypost.ng/2021/07/11/inec-apc-makes-clarification-on-onochie-being-card-carrying-member/

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on
Friday reiterated the Buhari
administration’s plan to lift 100
million Nigerians out of poverty in
ten years.

The VP, however, said this will
not be based on a business as
usual approach, but a common-
sense strategy that will deliver
the results President Muhammadu
Buhari promised.

Osinbajo said the government and
stakeholders must be very
intentional about the objectives
and how to achieve them.

Prof. Osinbajo spoke in Abuja on
Friday at the inaugural meeting of
the National Poverty Reduction
with Growth Strategy Steering
Committee held at the
Presidential Villa.

made to focus attention on
creating opportunities for
Nigerians to earn decent
livelihoods.

Politics2023: We Can No Longer Pretend About Presidency From The South – Umahi by Dovegrey(op): 1:32pm On Jul 09, 2021
The chairman of the Southeast
Governors Forum and Governor of
Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi
on Thursday said that Southern
Nigeria can’t pretend any longer
on allowing the zone to produce the President of country come 2023 general election.

The Governor made this known
while addressing the Independent
National Electoral Commission,
INEC, Ebonyi State chapter led by
the Resident Electoral
Commissioner, REC, Dr. Joseph
Chukwu during a courtesy visit
that took place at the old
government house, Abakaliki,
Ebonyi State.

Umahi, represented by his Deputy,
Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe lamented
that southern Nigeria has been
marginalized, stressing the
importance of allowing the zone
to take over power come 2023
elections.

According to him: “This country,
we don’t need to pretend again.
Whether you like it or not, it
seems there is polarization; this
one South, this one North.

“The north would have done
eight years by 2023 as the
president, is that not correct?
And some of them are saying
that it will be criminal for the
North to continue to be president
of Nigeria after 2023.

“And it is the turn of the South.
And we said as Governors of the
South, that Nigeria, remember
that by 2023 we have it.

“The North has the population
by this registration that recorded
us low and they said it is
unconstitutional and that nobody
should talk about it,” he stated.
