OP when will your wailing stop

Fash is more than capable to handle the portfolio. Therefore, stop wailing and face your gala sales biz.

He's not talking about Fashola's Capability, he's talking about how urgent the need to revamp the power sector is, it is in a total state of Comatose, hence the need for a dedicated sole administrator to handle the Ministry solely. Just like say Ministry of Petroleum, MINES AND STEEL (SOLID MINERALS). Don't you think it is too much for one person to handle?

Politics / How Nairalanders Are Reacting To A Post On Amaechi's Portfolio By Dovetark by dovetark: 3:14pm On Nov 11, 2015
With Nairalands comment zone being very sensational in my view, I see the need to reflect how we all here responded to a post on how Nigerians reacted to Amaechi's portfolio as Minster of Transport and in turn how we reacted. wink Feel Free to Post yours

That's Yoruba culture talking. You greet your elder or someone in a superior position by showing respect.

You Said it all yourself.

See how Obasanjo once a President bows to the President. Thats power talking... But you can still see the President respects him.

Education / When There Is Life, There Is Hope. by dovetark: 11:32am On Oct 30, 2015

"However bad life may seem, there is always something you can do, and succeed at. While there's life, there is hope." Stephen Hawking.

Opinions may vary, but I'd like to think this article as fair, not political but tackling the issue at hand. It is clear that through the course of time, progress has/is been made by the military at eliminating this insurgency as seen in reclaiming lost territories, maybe not at the required speed; but you can pick out areas where improvement can be made, and this problem can be handled more efficiently and effectively. Like every trying situation, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. I hope peace would be restored to all the corners of this once great nation, though an assiduous task, it isn't impossible. More grease to the elbows of those involved in the solution of this.

The fact is we would keep battling with mediocrity until we retrace our steps, go back to the drawing board and have a proper blue print of where we want our country to be. We should realize that this is our sole responsibility and outsiders can't do a better job than us other than offer advice as we are on-ground and no other person(s) know our problems better than us. A report of the state of our airport was made, rather than fault or try and make a case just to save face, I expect the authorities to look thoroughly at how they came about such rating and learn/seek ways on how to make their services better. I am fortunate to have traveled to an African country, and I saw that their domestic airport was much better than two International airports I have been to in Nigeria. Of course, I don't expect that those who did this rating would go to places where construction is ongoing. I believe that this rating was done based on the infrastructure on ground. And if that be the case, isn't it proper that existing structures and services meet a certain standard?

Romance / Re: Why Do Some/most Nigerian Girls Fall Easily For Guys With Cars? by dovetark: 11:29pm On Oct 15, 2015
I don't think it's just a girl thing, generally people are moved by what they see and come to think of it who wouldn't go for comfort? Yeah, I think it's rather superficial to like/fall for someone because of material things, for me to be endeared to you, it has to be more than that... Having a beautiful soul! but I tell you that I'll have more expectations and initially, more regard for a girl who drives than one who treks.
Education / Usage Of Online Content Of Media Houses By Social Media Users/bloggers. by dovetark: 10:06am On Oct 15, 2015
Good morning Nairaland community, I am a newly registered member of this site and would like if someone can clear the air and offer advice on some questions bothering me at the moment concerning copyright laws of online materials, more precisely video clips on our indigenous media houses websites. I’d like to utilize (copy, reproduce and upload using code of Best Practices in Fair Use for online Video as a guide.) some of their video clips on my social media page.

I see some social media users/Nigerian bloggers do this, reproduce top media houses online content, I really am not sure if it is right. I looked up top foreign and Nigeria media houses copyright laws on the internet and found out that, while the top Nigerian media houses do not have their copyright laws posted online (I might be wrong), their foreign counterparts do. I suppose that Nigerian media houses should have their respective copyright laws, but can I by not having access to it online unlike that of their foreign counterparts, utilize their content as stated in the first paragraph without dire legal consequences? For E.g The NTA webpage has at the bottom of the page that the “Nigerian Television Authority is not responsible for the contents on external site or social media accounts.” Does this mean I could actually download a clip from NTA and upload to say YouTube without legal consequence from NTA apart from being responsible for my post? I would also appreciate if you could advise me on a way around this, if I cannot directly utilize their material for my stated purpose without legal implication.

Have a beautiful and blessed day, and thank you for your anticipated response.
