I saw this on my Instagram page and thought it worth sharing. This is subject to verification anyway. I want to be in a position where I can help the underprivileged through every means available to human existence. Poverty stinks, it is emotionally, mentally and psycologically limiting. It beats my imagination that despite how blessed we are as a country a greater percentage of Nigerians live in squalor.

They have to talk about it. He must have felt intimidated by the level of intimacy the other Guy and his girl had..

I think they will, if I was the one, I sure would... He told me that, when they initially met they talked about people they had been with in the past and even showed each other pictures as were available at that time... That's how he could recognize him... But he loves her though. I think it's something worth rehearsing though!!! Lol

Please guys, how will you feel if you and your girlfriend or wife are out and you both stumble on someone she once told you she had an intimate relationship with in the past before she met you? I was with a very close friend of mine in a mall when I noticed that as soon as this guy introduced himself, he (my friend) cringed a bit while he slowly drew his girlfriend closer to himself with his arms around her waist and faked a smile. I mean this guy na nigga!!! and even when big, rich guys are trying to woo his gorgeous girlfriend in front of him, the confident he exhumes alone puts them off... After the incident and when we had the chance to be alone, I asked him what happened back there He said "that guy been they chop my cherries..."

Nairalanders, @eph21 said I should ask the ladies how they will feel as well if the tables were turned!!!
Technology Market / Apples New Patent Can Prevent Phones Recording Concerts by dovetark: 8:43pm On Jul 31, 2016
Apples new patent can prevent phones recording concerts
Yep, Apple has just received a patent which could regulate your ability to take pictures and video with your iPhonein certain areas like concerts or museums.

Artists have been telling fans to put their phones away for years, but this new tech might actually be the deterrent needed to effect change. However, on top of forcing an audience to be in the moment and keep their phones away, the number of leaks and live rips of unreleased music is sure to take a hit, which is certainly an added benefit, if not the main reason, for regulating camera usage.

The science behind this new “feature” is relatively simple and has to do with your phone’s camera detecting an infrared signal loaded with data. Here are the words straight from the patent filing:

“In some embodiments, a device may apply a watermark to detected images as an alternative to completely disabling a recording function. For example, a device may receive infrared signals with encoded data that includes a command to apply a watermark to detected images. In such an example, the device may then apply the watermark to all detected images that are displayed or stored (e.g., single pictures or frames of a video).”

apple-patent
And these infrared emitters can do much more than just shut down your phone’s camera function; they can interact with your phone to display information and other details about an object or space to enhance an experience.

“An infrared emitter can be located near an object and generate infrared signals with encoded data that includes information about that object. An electronic device can then receive the infrared signals, decode the data and display the information about the object to the user.”

I found this a mixture of how people react to their celebrities upload on Instagram and I thought I should share...

Mr. Bright Okpocha AKA Basketmouth uploaded a picture of himself and business mogul Alhaji Aliko Dangote with the inscription "Look who I took to Lenox for shopping, I came to buy jeans, he came to buy the mall I guess." And Nigerians in droves came to leave a comment probably of how they feel; you could see some advertising their trade, some expressing bitterness, wishful thinking, etc.

Basketmouth is one of African's finest Standup Comedian, an alumns of my university (Uniben nor they carry last) graduated from department of Sociology and Anthropology, hails from Abia State and seems he is interested in diving into more serious business interest as can be seen with the two bonding.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, my "Role model" obviously has a thing for working with youths who are serious minded and visionary... My thoughts though... I look forward to being by all your sides someday, you both are great men in your own respect.

Lenox is a shopping mall in Atlanta in the U.S.A

For me it was hilarious, educating and stimulating. Take your time to read, you sure won't regret when you do. What do you think?

Education / Re: Help A Nairalander Explain This Exam Question To Be Faced In Two Days Time. by dovetark: 7:01pm On Jul 18, 2016
Oluwalosheleyi:
Its quite simple bro.To write in support of that statement: as humans we believe in dignity, self of worth and pride, and this sense dignity is often determined by our achievements our level of competence, our acceptability in the society, our percieved importance and some other things. Psychological and educational testing provides an avenue for us to appraise ourselves if we are worthy,if we have fulfilled the requirements for "dignity".Furthermore it also gives the society a means of identifying the elite or grade people into classes of failures, average people and successful people thereby reinforcing the notion of dignity and motivating others to attain higher levels socially.
SPEAKING AGAINST: psychological and educational tests are not consistent with the believe in dignity or worth, especially in africa because human dignity entails a lot of ideas/values such as honour, courage, honesty, loyalty, patriotism, etc which cannot be adequately tested with current psychological or educational tests.

Nice

Friend, whether you like it or not.. the younger generation are getting dumber and incredibly shallow..

Brands are actually "dumbing down" to relate to their target market, the younger ones. Artistes, media houses. And the rest are desperately following suite

Nairaland has followed this trend to deliberately promote vanity and unproductivity to appeal to a dominant demographic, the dumb youth.

It's a business's model my friend, take heart.

BTW I see you are into branding, please what state do you reside in?

Forget about it. I tried hiring programmers for pay too because I want to help my own instead of working with people from india, china, eastern europe, but guess what? The C.Vs were very weak. You would think they were all very gainfully employed, one even had the audacity to quote rates in dollars, given that his skill level from what I've seen shows him to be a junior programmer at best. LOL

Noticing that a lot of Naija programmers are weak skill wise, I figured I could give back by mentoring and teaching people how to code 1on1 via email/skype/hangouts. Only one person took me up on the offer and sadly they never did finished.

I've seen some "smart" people on this forum, but smart doesn't make for a good software engineer. I hope with time tho, folks can realise how much they can transform their life in this lucrative industry by being humble and collaborating with others.

If this window of opportunity is still open, I am willing to learn...

Love Machine:
What is the need of arresting murderers, detained them and release them later? That is to say that buhari pledge allegiance to Bokoharam. The chief of Army Staff,Tukur Buratai, during the deployment of troops to Borno State, had warned soldiers not to kill any bokoharam member that was caught.I already know that they will be release afterwards.

Might I remind you, they are "suspected" they were only interrogated and they probably are innocent. Why will a security agency release people who actually have links or their hands in terrorist activities? Well na naija we dey, anything goes... Crimes against humanity 34 children, probably locked up in the same place with "suspected adult criminals" no rehabilitation, nothing...
