i BEG TO DIFFER. Henin's backhand is the best shot in tennis right now. A thing of beauty |
You know I actually think Henin has a better backhand than Fed. Her timing on that shot is immaculate |
PTH:Especially on the backhand side where Fed struggles to cope with the ball high. |
Jackal:Jackal, I see you have not lost your touch for hyperbole. Hargreaves did good, but I wouldn't get carried away. European midfielders with nous will have him for breakfast if he wants to turn to MR. Activity But for the Premiership I am sure he will do just fine. But still a combo of Michael Johnson and Dietmarr Hamann cannot be compared to a Alonso/Gerrard or Obi/Essien and Fabregas/Silva tandem. The real tests are still to come. |
Muki NO mind Ruudie jare. Your have got admirers right here with your feline grace. ![]() |
@Black Mamba I don't think either of Garnett or Pierce will lack in grit or determination. The question is can they carry Allen along especially on the defensive end. While none of the three will essentially command a double team Allen and Pierce are quite a threat, so this will allow them spread the floor and hence make dribble penetration easier. I see this team making it out of the East, barring any major INJURIES. |
Yes thank you my people. I am not a new Portsmouth fan. I was born into it. I came into this world in that seaside town. After fifteen years in the wilderness of the lower leagues we are firmly now in the bigtime. It is just ideal for me now to have two Nigerians on the team, Bring more attention to this most passionate of clubs. Utaka na the man jo. Big up |
Is that a mugshot? |
I like Majek's version of Genesis best. ![]() |
@Iwerebor It is a new innovation. A non titled poem. How refreshing ![]() |
Well I was pleasantly surprised about Hargreaves performance cause he has always been treated badly in the English Press. I still think Carrick has more range in his passing but not enuff of an edge to keep out Hargreaves now. I told you Jackal that Tevez is not in the same league as Rooney. And Yesterday was a classic case in point. Not so much the missed chance but the lack of pace and strength. I don't know where you guys got the idea that he is overwhelmingly skillfu to make up for his lack of pace and strength, but he has only one move and that is to step on the ball and drag back. Twice Micah Richards was able to come back at him when Rooney prolly would have been away. Evra has also been a surprise. I used to think he was uncouth going forward, but he seems to have polishe up recently. Based on the season so far, I would rate him above A.Cole on the left back scales I mean Man City were not able to cause any damage yesterday because that vital hole where Elano was meant to operate, he decided to shirk his duty. But the only time he had the ball, he laid the assist for the goal. The point is, against the European players with more nous, the Pirlos, Xavis, Decos Man U will struggle, and that is no slight against them. No permutation of Hargreaves, Carrick or Scholes I dont think will be able to cope with a side that is able to hold the ball for a length of time. |
Euclid:Exactly why the division must continue. Euclidean rhetoric dictates that all parties behave rationally. But the day Naija becomes rational is the day I become a NIN ![]() |
I watched Burne Ultimatum, and well 'What the f**k was all that about' Waste of good money on a bad film if you ask me. Lets just say if you have had ur brain fried, and can suspend belief for 90 mins you will find the film very clever. Thing is you will prolly think Ini-Edo worthy of an Oscar as well. |
I have seen muki. And I can reliably say she will make Toni Braxton look like Whoopi. ![]() |
I have always been left befuddled by the art of poetry, seeing it as at best selfindulgent. Well, I decided to make an effort. I am sure I have only grazed that elusive 'poetic side', but if you don't like it, tough, take me to Judge Judy, if you like. What makes a man Is it the size of his wallet or the width and length of his barn Or is it measured by the number of welts he inflicts on the back of his woman or perhaps how many male backs he puts to the ground or might we measure a man by the length and girth of the pod hanging from his legs or the decibels of the moans which his woman produces or is it just the gift of the gab and how many female conquests that obtains or is it a spirit of the reckless a thirst for danger a mistaken brevity a ready excuse when real men make their early exits from this world as real men it seems should |
I dont think Rosicky or Hleb will be able to fill Pires's shoes. They don't have the pace, and neither is gifted with a keen eye for goal, at best a few goals here or there. From way back when Pires was at Marseille, he had scoring potential, which bloomed at Arsenal. Rosicky on the other hand has played defensive midfield for the Czechs before!!! |
But I thought you were short sighted? ![]() |
You never know ![]() |
Well I'd rather go shirtless than wear Pepe ![]() |
As the Bulls showed las season they can be quite off on the offensive end if not horrible. Hinrich plays good defense but his offensive skills need work. Garnett is as good a rebounder as Wallace so he has an edge cause he can score as well. Simply put, I dont see anyone stopping the Celts, if they are all motivated. They remind me of the Big three of the Bucks, Allen, Cassell and Big Dog Robinson. Crucial difference is Garnett adds way more size to the mix. Watch out for the Nets tho as they get Krstic back |
you again? |
But what if I inherited a billion dollars? |
I can see the Pistons give them trouble because they got heart and can lock on defense. But Pierce and Allen are lights out shooters and when they are on, no defense is going to stop them. Allen might be crap on defense but he has proved he can score in both conferences against anybody. Pierce and Garnett have both got heart. Garnett I think is the most important link. Its too late now for him to bulk up but he has to play as a true centre on the offensive end and get closer to the rim. He takes too many jump shots. As per the Cavs, I dont see any centre that can handle Garnett, and against Lebron and whoever, I back Allen and Pierce anyday. |
Finally the disguises are off ![]() |

But what if your best aint good enuff |
I will be honest with you, but for it being the east , I wouldn't invest much hope in this team to do well. KG is a good cntre but not an impact player. There are faster(Stoudemire), bigger(Shaq, Duncan) centres in the league. Essentially he is a jack of all trades but master of none. And he goes away far too much from the basket. I know it looks good for a 7 footer to handle the ball, but teams can quickly scheme against that. Ray Allen's defense on the other hand is alright at best and often mediocre. Paul Pierce I feel is the more consistent player of all three. But hey its the East, and anything less than a final will be a disaster. |
Aint you meant to brawl till you fall as a man ![]() |
