Blocks and steals are two of the most useless stats. categories ever created.

We have these stat happy Americans to thank for it. angry angry angry angry

Points points points baby. . .and Al Jefferson without the perimeter support Dwight Howard
has still has more of them.

I mean come on folks, 6 foot 5 Maxiell of the Pistons shutdown Howard in the playoffs last season.
And that ugly Howard hook shot. . . .abegi.

Al Jeff is the best big man in the league.

Na wa for una o. . .

I think you lot need to look past the whole choke thing.

TONY ROMO CAN PLAY. . . . .

It reminds me of the gripe against Manning some seasons back
before the Super Bowl victory. He couldn't win a playoff game, then
he could never beat Brady etc. etc. Fact was, he was the best QB in
football.

I'm not saying Romo is the best, but he sure is one hell of a quaterback.

And I'd better not see Bawo adding his voice in a convo about another team's
quaterback. tongue tongue tongue tongue

See what I am saying. . .

cast, how many games was he winning?

One tree no fit make forest o. Despite the setbacks though, he
soldiers on with some solid numbers.

I am not surprised by your corruption laden analysis sha. . . .No Chicago pun intended.  grin grin tongue tongue

of all the big men in the league, tell me who has better stats than Al Jefferson.

And no one I repeat no one is able to stay with him one on one on the low block.

He is the reason the timberwolves have been able to stay in many games.

Now if only McHale could add some good perimeter talent. Mike Miller had his best years
at Orlando.

well, just shows how little you lot know, to forget Al Jefferson.

Forget Duncan, KG, Howard, Bynum, Ming whatever. . . .

Al Jefferson is the best big man in the NBA.

Super bowl victory bites the dust.

Jon Gruden is no more, sacked by the Bucs and the Glazers.
Literature › Re: Best African Author: Wole Soyinka or Chinua Achebe? by doyin13(m): 5:48pm On Jan 16, 2009
They're two different kinds of writers and shouldn't be compared at all. Unlike Soyinka though, Achebe knows his area of strength and sticks to that, in the main. He's by far the superior novelist. Soyinka's novels are mediocre, for a Nobel prize winner. The big words are unnecessary in a novel, and you won't find many great writers who use them. A novel's not about how many ten-syllable words you know, but how powerfully you use simple words.

But plays and non-fiction, OMG. The Man Died is an incredible book, and the reason he won the Nobel. It can stand side by side with any book by any author in any country. That's the only writing that revealed the depth of his genius. He should stick to plays and non-fiction. Achebe is a born novelist, and he excels at it.
I respectfully beg to differ madam. . . .

I can understand why Achebe would be regarded as the better novelist, his books are
a lot more accessible for one.

Soyinka has not written too many novels, but I still think The Interpreters is the best
piece of fiction I have ever read by a Nigerian, and I have read all of Achebe's books.

Honestly, my advice to him would be to continue in his stance of silence after his inauguration.
There is no winning with whichever stance he takes, and he like the rest of us should just bugger
off and let the Arabs and the Jews have a go at it.

Whoever emerges victor, abeg make e take the spoils, so the rest of us fit hear word.

Isn't there enough evidence around the league
that all these a priori classifications are often
way off the mark.

Sports › Re: NFL 11-12 Season Is Here: Where Are All The NFL Fans? by doyin13(m): 6:06pm On Jan 13, 2009
Bawo. . .don't worry.

If the Bears are as desperate to draft a legit franchise quaterback, they might get their
chance, cause i suspect with all the negative vibes surrounding Tim Tebow's mechanics,
he might fall far in the draft.

Mechanics aside, all the brother has done is win win win, and unlike say a Matt Leinhart who
had a great team and Carroll around him, he has had to carry the Gators on his shoulders a bit.
