PAGAN9JA:I'm an ardent student of History, not a traditionalist, if you can help me cite examples of precolonial African men that married fellow men, I would be grateful. Don't tell me about women that married fellow women, the practice is still in my place today, it's a different story because most times it's done when there is no male child in the family, a woman may decide to marry another woman to bear children for the lineage, in this case the 'wife' is allowed to sleep with other men for the purpose of procreation. |
PAGAN9JA:I wonder how you came to this conclusion, because even traditional religion abhors it. Homosexuality has never been an African thing, it's been around here but it has never been something that Africans were proud of, even before the white man came with his religion. |
I just want to be a baby Daddy, I do not wish to be tied down by any woman in the name of marriage. |

babaolofin:Lol, you call someone living in his country an immigrant, that's delusional bro. If you are not from Lagos State, you are an 'immigrant' too. |
babaolofin:Gibberish, not in anyway related to what we were talking about. |
Clevite:You don't get the point, we are talking of the developmental impact of Lagos being the former capital of Nigeria, not the geographical area or the place that capital was located. |
seunmsg:You limited the whole federal presence in Lagos to just a local government, wonderful!!. Also Rock is the capital of Nigeria not Abuja according to you. |
seunmsg:What is the difference between Lagos State and Lagos Island, I wish you really know how unintelligent that your statement was. As if there is a clear cut distinction between the two. I'm disappointed, I used to think you are very intelligent. |
sangresan:Talk is cheap, insult is left for fools. Just look at your warped analysis and sense of reasoning. I don't know why you're bringing in Washington DC and New York, but let me school you on that. New York city was the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790, and has been the most populated U. S city since 1790, so it's population is still bigger than Washington as expected because if it's huge commerce, just like Lagos and Abuja. On your second point. I don't think you understand what attracts people to larger cities or what makes a city more populated, apart from Abuja, none of these states you mentioned can boast of federal presence like Lagos, is that too hard for you to comprehend? Functional airport, functional seaport, these are federal presence if you don't understand the meaning of federal presence and these are what brings people to Lagos, let FG allow all types of consumer goods bearing ships berth in Port Harcourt port and other coastal cities such as Calabar, Akwa Ibom and Warri and see the population and IGR of Lagos dwindle and shrink. Lagos State has no hand in the development of Nollywood, Nollywood exploded with the production of the movie Living In Bondage and it wasn't even set in Lagos, so associating Lagos only with the film industry is just a figment of your timid imagination. FG left Lagos in 1991, so did FG also leave with what it had already invested in Lagos? Was Port Harcourt a former capital of Nigeria? Final question, are you a Lagosian?? |
BARAJ92:Have you been to Enugu, Ebonyi or Delta before? Don't sit at your state and believe the earth doesn't rotate on its axis. |
babaolofin:You know why Lagos is overpopulated? Because it has more federal presence apart from Abuja than any other state, the only functional seaport, despite pleas that others should be made functional (allowing other sea ports to compete favourably with Lagos), there are some goods that you can't bring into Onne, but Lagos receives everything and for you information, the day Lagos loses its population is the death of Lagos, my tax to Lagos govt every month is more than 10k and so is every other person working legitimately in Lagos, the traders in Lagos, go and ask them how much levies they pay per day. Stop all these jibberish about others overpopulating Lagos, it is the gain of Lagos. The day the population leaves, that day industries and firms will follow them, maybe you think firms and industries run themselves. If federal government should invest half of what they invested in Lagos in any other coastal state, every non Lagosian will kiss Lagos goodbye and you will understand that rents and taxes are not paid by empty streets. |
QueenOfOgoja:Where are they, any link?? |
Herkim:You're welcome |
excellence44:Thanks bro |
grim33:My guy, that's the more reason they will continue to defraud people. |
Sometimes last year (2019), I desperately needed money to pay my house rent, I just quit an FG job to start my own business and I was looking for a loan, so I saw a loan advert on Facebook (the thing is that Facebook and Google collect your browsing data to help them run adverts that suits you and I was always browsing how to get a loan without collateral, lol). So I saw this advert of Facebook by "crownfin" they go by different names at different times. I quickly clicked, I was desperate (now I believe I was greedy), the site opened and I filled the form to get ₦200,000 to pay ₦20,000 upfront, they asked for my ATM card details, I filled and submitted. I went as far as checking the address they put on their website on Google map and lo it was on Google map, Aba Road, Port Harcourt. After entering my card details, I received a debit alert of ₦20,0000. I was the one that foolishly sent them the OTP from my bank, immediately I was debited, I rushed back to the website to receive my supposed loan, but no record was found, that was when my eyes cleared and I knew that I had been defrauded. I told myself that I must get my money back, since it was PAGA and interswitch, they used, I immediately mailed my bank and they said they will investigate, one month later I didn't hear from my bank (meanwhile that had already given me complaint reference code), I reminded them again, they said that the transaction was successful, that it's not a failed transaction, meanwhile my mail read "FRAUDULENT TRANSACTION" at this point my bank had already frozen my account and all debit channels (reason being that my account has been compromised). I now decided to involve CBN, I mailed CBN directly, telling them everything that transpired and copied my bank, immediately that night I received a credit of ₦20,000 from my bank and a mail stating that are refunding me pending their investigation, after a week or so, I noticed that I was debited the exact ₦20,000, I immediately mailed my bank to know why, they replied that they investigated and found out that the transaction was genuine and conclusive, I now forwarded the mail to CBN (cpd@cbn.gov.ng) stating what my bank did, after two weeks or thereabouts, I received another alert of ₦20,000. The conclusion of the matter is that I got my money back, it's over four months now. So I am using this medium to let people know that with tenacity and dexterity, if you were defrauded by anyone, be it police, 419ers, BVN fraud calls etc, you can get your money back, in as much as you didn't go over the counter to deposit the money or it was a cash transaction. Online transactions have a trail and with the trail you can get justice. Just get the transaction details (download you bank app, so that you can be generating e-receipts) this will help you in your claims. What banks normally do is to freeze the fraudsters account and ask him to reconcile with you and until you tell your bank that the issue has been resolved, the fraudsters account will be inoperative. Please don't mail CBN first, they require that you must have complained to your bank first and your bank must have given you a complaint reference number and that your were not satisfied with the way your bank handled the matter. Lalasticlala, please help me share my story. |
Tomiwa69:Did she or he tell you that she or he has no religion or you think Satanism is nit a religion. What I've noticed is that most "atheists" here are actually anti Christian. |
Danybest:Send a mail to central bank on cpd@cbn.gv.ng stating what happened and how you contacted first bank and they failed to do anything, then copy first bank alongside, you will get your money, not immediately though but you will surely get it. If you have a complaint reference number attach it to the mail also. Mine was 20k, UBA didn't act immediately until I sent a mail to CBN |
[quote author= post=93458682]This is a very sensible comment from a true Nigerian. A lady that wants the best for her country and citizens. Another policy that may never be implemented. Even if it's actually implemented, it means that DISCOS will find excuse not to supply power to the less privileged since they don't pay less. Of what economic use will it be to supply light places that pay less instead of areas that pay higher. |
Iwanttoto:Are you not a man?? Stop all these negative and harsh words against unmarried ladies, if you know where they sell husbands why not help them buy. Happy birthday Waje. |
