who Else noticed the device ser bronn used. if the entire army has that stuff then deny's army would be decimated
That's a crossbow. Well, it is quite effective but somewhat slower to reload compared to the conventional nock-draw-release bow and arrow.

The type with Ser Bronn isn't effective for long range shots.

Dany, Tyrion and Greyworm were certainly within the range of the impossibly accurate and powerful scorpions that Euron used to shoot Rhaegal down and destroy Dany’s ships earlier. They had the high ground too. The carelessness of the show runners is amazing.
I saw that seen with sheer disgust. It was no different from what is obtainable in our classic 'Kòtò Ayé' kind of movies. They were all within range of scorpions placed on the wall, yet it didn't occur to the producers and the director that poor Dany would have been killed if it were to be in real life.

Why is no one talking about the mature exchanges between Sansa and the Hound?
I thought it was nice to see those two folks together again after Season 2 (or is it 3 now?)
Sansa may not be smart, still, but at least she's ain't that vulnerable little bird we all kept worrying about, back in the day.

The scene wasn't really necessary, particularly for the episode. She claimed to have grown a whole and said it with all cockiness to the Hound and two scenes afterwards, she couldn't keep a secret for just five minutes after swearing and before that, he little sister was the one who reminded her that they needed Dany more than she needed them prior to the war.

Sansa is foolishness personified.

wicked? Is the Nightking really wicked compared to Thanos and Cersei?
Motive, that is what determines who is wicked and who isn't. We very much know the NK wants humans wiped off from the face of the earth but we don't know why. So yes, he is wicked in the eyes of humans.

Thanos' part genocidal mission is to groom the population for resources to go round. His motive is fair but he his approach is insane. In the eyes of humans, he is wicked.

Cersei only wants the through and nothing more. She doesn't care whether her people live or die as long as she is there. If you ask me, Thanos' cause is more noble than that of Cersei.

Seriously u have no point, how as GOT been inconsistent..... Just because a movie don't go the way you want it doesnt mean it's inconsistent....
I am not one to force my viewpoint down people's throats but there are those who see movies or shows and pay crucial attention to details. They love to know 'the how', 'the when' and 'the why' events happen. Beyond clashing of swords or the senseless gunslings, give or present a logical plot and don't assume the audience are as stupid as those who only look forward to plot twists and fight scenes.

1. Arya killed the NK - How? Till date, no clue.
2. Ser Bronn showed up at Winterfell in a crossbow and found the Lannister Brothers in a chamber - How did it make it past the wall?
3.Two huge, fierce aerial creatures and a rider fly right above ships but never spotted the enemy ships until Rheagal was shot out of sky multiple times. - How so?
4. Cersei paid Ser Bronn heavily to kill her two brothers but couldn't command her archers to kill Tyrion right at her doorstep. How?

I very much fancy the plot, the gore and violence and all. It doesn't mean I switch off my brain when I sit behind my screen to see each episode. This is not about a movie not going the way I want. This is about logic and common sense. Maybe you should drop your emotion and don your thinking cap when seeing the next episode.

The reasons some persons put up just because they love something is crazy. This is why critiquing can't work in Nigeria. It is also why Nollywood movies get motivated to churn junks out.

When a show or movie you watch start becoming illogical and does so consistently, you shouldn't console yourself by claiming you are not perfect. Movies are make believe and there is a reason Nollywood is at the bottom of the food chain.

Bruh that number 3 stretched credulity beyond belief.

Like Yonce also said, Cersei has been trying to kill Tyrion since season 2. She still sent an assasin after him only 2 episodes ago. Then the guy turns up to her gate within range of like a million archers, and she just let him go?
So many lazy writings. That of Cersei and Tyrion is funny though!

This episode ruined my day before it began. I hate the fact that the movie is fast looking like a Nollywood wood movie with obvious sudden points that can't be explained.

1. There is the issue of the Starbucks coffee before Dany. Some crazy blooper there.

2. Before they moved out, Sansa suggested the army recuperate but Dany and Jon and Tyrion suggested they hit Cersei when she isn't looking, which implied it had to be immediately. So it was believed that Cersei, though was prepared, never anticipated their attack. How Euron ambushed Dany at that exact spot beats my imagination. There's the possibility/assumptionof a mole; one who must have hinted Cersei that Dany was coming for her.

3. How did Ser Bronn move past a heavily guarded wall with fairly towering outposts manned by archers only to show up in one of the Chambers of Winterfell; exactly the same where Jamie and Tyrion were in?

4. Greyworm ordered Missandei to hide when Euron's fleet attacked them. They were on the same ship and it probably got destroyed like that of Tyrion. Greyworm escaped with some of his men but 'left' Missandei behind only to remember her ashore. The next, she had been captured by Euron...

I understand that the show had stretched long enough but seeing that it is being rushed is fast making it look like a typical Nollywood movie. Some many 'little' details are being omitted for no reasons.

I'm sorry but I can't discount that as a serious character flaw.

Kill somebody and keep it moving, baba go dey dance about

Oberyn had amazing technique but he fought with exaggerated movements, and without economy of motion. In boxing terms, he was an Amir Khan - very flashy with loads of fast hitting combinations but falls prey to skilled but pragmatic fighters everytime.

if you wanna shoot, shoot, don't talk.

LMAO!

Something must kill a man. I don't agree with the emboldened. The Mountain is a huge fellow and anyone would fall easy before him. As baddass as the Hound is, he dreads Gregor, his brother.

Oberyn never tired out during the fight. And he didn't run out of ideas. The producers thought it best to get him to exit the show in that manner. He would have taken Gregor down in a less fashionable manner if the latter was about his size. Jon Snow is regarded as the best fighter of the show but he is nowhere near Oberyn Martell.

I think it's a Kraken. The Greyjoys seem too proud and mystical to be represented by a mere squid.
I think you're more correct. It must be a Kraken. Considering the era, their beliefs and their affinity for the sea. It couldn't have been a Squid. I take that back.

Too sad he allowed pride to get into his head which resulted to the mountain knocking out his teeth with a single punch and bursting his head while his brains gushed out.
He was cocky, no doubt but I think he lost because of his emotion. He got emotional and wanted to force the Mountain to confess to what the latter did.

Oberyn is amazing. I found his death more painful than other recent characters who died.

Oberyn was not a swords man though. That apart I give it to John.

Oberyns opponent was slow, that's not a battle that was simply combat, in a real battle Oberyn won't go far, agility is a Major factor to consider when considering battle maneuvers, if people like Oberyn fought at battle of the bastard, he wouldnt have survived
Well, the show only revealed him as one who used spears, largely because of his opponent, Gregor Clegane (The Mountain). There's no way you'd say Oberyn's opponent was slow. He fought a huge human and made it very easy. Perhaps you should picture the Mountain vs Jon and find out what your mind tells you.

I can't believe the emboldened came up in your post. Of all the fighters on the show, none is as agile as Oberyn. I have seen his fight with the Mountain severally and felt a fighter of his caliber died too easy. Below is the scene between Oberyn and Gregor Clegane, as a refresher:

I read this piece way back and Jon was placed against Oberyn and both were analysed. I'd suggest you go through it as well. It makes so much sense.

Based on what we've watched and what the movie told us, Jon Snow is the greatest fighter. (Tormund and Ramsey confirmed it).

Based on what we've watched alone, Oberyn Martell is wonderful. (The Mountain can't even match his style and confidence. He beat the Mountain hands down...sad episode though). Then that Ser Payne guy that uses 2 swords eh..na him be Oga boss.

But based on our common sense, I don't even think Jon can chance The Hound.

But biko who is Jamie...complete soap man..especially from what we've seen.
Bless your heart! Oberyn is graceful with the sword and his fighting style is unmatched. His movements stir up joy such that he made the Mountain look like a Bull in a Bullfight and him being the Matador.

It's a phrase said when they baptize you in the name of the drowned god.

The real question should be why does the Greyjoy sigil look like the female reproductive system?

It does look like it but the Greyjoy sigil is actually a Squid; sea creatures belonging to the family of the Octopus.

Impossible to say. They all use different weapons, and have such widely different styles, that we can't tell for real which one has the best technique.

2 handed Jamie fought with a 'classic' style but in the only 1v1 fight I remember, he was so unconvincing in his battle with Ned Stark, his body guard felt the need to intervene.

Oberyn was an egotist with an overly histrionic style. Technique was solid but the need to showoff proved to be too great a weakness.

Jon Snow is not a great fighter. Unlike the vast majority of his opponents, Jon Snow has had the benefit of martial training since he was a boy. It's ok beating people who don't know how to hold a sword or never had any real training...when it's time to face his mates, he always needs to be bailed out. ALWAYS.

Brienne is a great fighter but is always wearing full plate armour and so has a great deal of protection from damage at all times. In a pure fight one v one (no iron man suit) with some of the other names on this list, I'm not sure she would do very well. For example, The Hound beat her black and blue with only his bare hands.

Stannis is a soldier.

Jorah amazing swordsmanship. Can solo anybody but a bit fragile.Any small touch and man is injured.

The hound - less technique, more brute force. Can and will use anything to kill his opponents from sword, axe, his hands, his teeth. Very pragmatic. Most importantly, this man can take some damage. Burn his face, Break his legs, Stab him. He will not die. He's like Brienne but 3 times better.

For me the hound is the number 1 fighter on your list.

Jorah the andal number 2.

Jon Snow last egbe.
How they died or what led to their death shouldn't be put into consideration when deciding this. I believe, without a doubt that Oberyn is the best swordsman of the show, ego or not. His movement is like water and his handling skill could be likened to that of a Ronin, if not more. Others often combine force to wield their swords which makes it amateurish and somewhat predictable.

I'd rate Brienne above The Hound. Their fight wasn't really 'swordish' but more of brute force but she takes it for me. None comes close to Oberyn.

I think we'll lose a Dragon in Kings Landing. I have thought about it severally and one of the precious seasons kept coming to mind.

Arya didn't wear any stupid face or hide on the tree. She was purely running at the NK. The wights there didn't do anything just as when theon was running at the NK too.
Her movement was flash-like, no doubt. One of the Night Walkers felt her but had no idea.

The wights are regularly instructed by the Night King. We saw this in the build up of the scene that led to Dany losing one of three dragons; the becoming of the Ice Dragon. The wights all stood still even when they were provoked. The same played out just outside the walls when the trenches were torched. They stood still a while until the Night King had a clear view and signalled and then some willingly sacrificed themselves by laying on the fire for the other wights. This brilliant move was no doubt orchestrated by the Night King.

That if the garden played out because the Night King personally wanted to kill Bran and made the wights stood still. I believe he would have put the wights to work if he sensed Arya from a distance but he never did.

..... People saying that Arya is an assassin blah blah blah....a sneaky assassin that wanted to be quiet until she got to her target and screamed? Like seriously WTF? Why on earth would you do that when you actually wanted to kill the person quietly. What was she hoping to achieve there? Could she have known how he would have reacted?
Killing a villain in any movie particularly one that would die a conflict is always dramatic. The essence of it is to put the audience in the moment. Typical cinema standard would have been an applause or a standing ovation. Movies like Endgame, and Inifnity Wars gave us a similar feel.

Arya didn't have to sneak up on Little Finger but we all saw how she swiftly killed him, just as she did Walder Frey and even a wight in the library. The scream was purely dramatic and nothing more.

Besides we know the night king is super strong, why did he have to hold a girl who weighs nothing in comparison to his strength with both hands instead of one and somehow he still was unable to crush her windpipe. Another WTF moment.
He held her neck with one hand and her left hand which had the steel with the other. The Night King was the size of an average human and so, it was only meaning he did that. A figure like Thanos, as colossal as he is would stop someone like that. I think he even did in one of the recent Avenger releases.

He held Arya by the wrist in an attempt to prevent being stabbed with a Valyrian Steel. Truth is, a stab anywhere could have killed him still but the producers thought it more poetic to have him stabbed where the children stuck in the dragon glass.

How did Arya know that the Night king would die from being stabbed right there? If she had stabbed him from the back, it would have at least be believable but honestly, that scene showed nothing but lazy writing that people have already posted on here. Just shows what some of us have known for a while that the standard of the show has fallen since season 4, season 7 being the worst of the lot and this season is closely following.
She didn't know. It could have been anywhere like I mentioned above but some corners thought it wise to bring the Night King to an end via the spot that made him. It is poetic, nothing more.

While there are lazy writings in the recent episode and knowing that so many events beg for answers, how the Night King died isn't one of them.

I think you quoted the wrong person but saying Sansa is a lot smarter now is laughable, very laughable!

What makes her smarter, that she believed Cersie wouldn't send her army when Tyrion believed otherwise or because she doesn't like Dany because she fears for the North?

Sansa is still the same character from the beginning. The only difference at this point is that she is in Winterfell where she is regarded.

Valyrian steel is rare because Valyria no longer exists. Valyria was the only place Valyrian steel was made. The clue is in it's name.

There were Dragons in king's landing at one point. There were mages too. I have not heard of kingslanding steel or astapor steel before.
Your argument sometimes weaken my spirit. Do we say something is rare because its origin or makers are now defunct or we say it is rare based on how many of such things are in circulation? Of course it is the latter!

Should we assume Steels or blades weren't forged in King's Landing just because we never heard of it for once? No nau! Gendry was an apprentice blacksmith in King's Landing before Ser Davos came for him. Why we prolly never hear/heard of King's Landing steel is because it was unrenowned and not different from the regular steel, nothing special about it. Even Jamie who is from King's Landing wields a Valyrian Steel.

The scarcity of Valyrian Steel is why it went on to become a mark of affluence for Houses/individuals who owns one. Recall Tarly stole his family's and handed it to Jorah. Jon and Arya had shown each other theirs in the previous episode. Gendry passed a major comment about the steel after Arya showed him in the previous episode at the forges (I knew you weren't just amy rich girl (sic)).

That Valyrians made their steels with Dragon Fire and Magic doesn't mean others must do the same. Asgard clearly had their own Blacksmiths and so did other realms but Thor insisted on Nidavellir because the dwarves there made his hammer from the core of a dying star, which in itself is magical.

Valyrian steel is rare, not just because Valyria is no longer in existence but because the steel in itself is owned by only a handful of families/individuals and they are not even up to 10.

If Valyrian steel can harm Nk. . . .why can't Dragon fire.
I mean Valyrian steel is special cause it's forged in the breath of Dragon fire so. . .?
Valyrian Steel are not only forged with Dragon Fire but also with spells which makes them unique; a different kind of fire and some grains of spells. If you observed the previous season closely, the NK didn't 'resist the Dragon Fire, rather his powers put out the fire while he walked through the fire path.

During the war council meeting in the second episode of this very season, Arya asked if Dragon Fire could kill the NK and someone responded saying he/she wasn't sure, and that was the truth. Had Dany known the fire would have no effect on him, I believe she wouldn't have risked her life going close to Dracarys his ass.

Valyrian steels have always been a blend of fierce fire and magic, and not just the fire alone.
