This is not about individuals or secession of Biafra from Nigeria but to honour the people who paid the supreme prize for the freedom of Igbos during the civil war, various riots in the north and colonial invasions.

We know how it pains a lot of Nigerians that Igbos remember their dead and honour them, that is what makes the Igbo man or woman thick.
We value lives of our people and recognize the sacrifices made, we remember the generation of Igbo youths that was massacred in Asaba on 3 October, 1967 by Colonel Murtala Mohammed who gave the order to Major Ibrahim Taiwo.

It is beyond politics of IPOB or MASSOB, just that Igbos needed a rallying point which IPOB provided.

Lagos State had to deposit the bodies of the victims of the recent tanker fire for DNA tests and the corpses released to the families, they did not rush to bury them despite some being burnt beyond recognition embarassed
