Nigeria1@;:
religion have not. people still do what they want. if religion have affect nigeria, why are nigerian still running fraud in govt and other things in nigeria. religion have not really touch our lifes.
i take solace to the fact that its obvious that you have lost sense of direction on this argument of ours!
please dont feel bad someone has clearly proved you wrong,you can be compensated with the fact that if you argue with the mallam selling suya or the shoe maker or mai guard you will clearly prove your point and beat him hands down and with all due respect to the good people of yorubaland you are a big disappointment to them and there can do good from distancing themselves from you!

@auwal87

theres nothing like emir of wukari,theres a aku of wukari who lords over the jukun people.

THE TIVS ARE RULED BY THE TOR TIV AND THE IDOMAS BY THE OCHI IDOMA! THERE ARE NO EMIRS IN BENUE (AND CAN NEVER BE!)

@nigeria1

i think (and its my own opinion) you will pass for the most uneducated person on nairaland

PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Be Divided? by DRANOEL(m): 7:46pm On Sep 22, 2008
my guy who told you the north receives little immigrants? at the last check NIS was complaining about the large influx of foreigners (niger,chad,lebanese) into northern nigeria

are you also aware that egypt is arid and has the second largest population in africa?infact asides nigeria north africa has the highest population in africa.

you should be truthful with yourself

i recommend JTF continues the assualt,these rogues want development but are not giving room for it. if its possible i recommend the full weight of the military on them(much more than what happened in odi and zaki biam). cease fire ke? let them continue,are they not the ones always running to the press to claim they have the upper hand/

@kobojunkie

you said it works in brazil doesnt mean it can work here

well we can atleast try instead o just sitting around

talking about building refineries

the same you will critisize kaduna if it was trying to build a refinery for trying to make money off the south south

nigerian cars and ethanol

nigerian cars are not ethanol compliant because we have not started producing ethanol

and above all it seems you prefer if everything is done by a white man and brought to you for consumption,i applaud kaduna for taking the initiative even i it fails

Planner:
Dranoel,

I do not agree to the fact that Northerners have more population than southerners, irrespictive of their marrying multiple wives, if not why where they so against including ethnic group and religion in the last census? I smell a rat. They know that past census is a sham and the only way they can continue to latch on the resources form the south is to inflate their population.
point of correction,it wasnt the north that was against tribe and religion it was obasanjo (according to him it will raise the level of tension in the country then)
PoliticsRe: MEND Declares Ceasefire In Niger Delta by DRANOEL(m): 2:28pm On Sep 22, 2008

PoliticsRe: Kaduna State To Produce Fuel From Sugarcane by DRANOEL(m): 1:42pm On Sep 22, 2008
quite disappointed with a lot of you,it seems that most of you are unhappy that kaduna has taken a giant step,i am sure if the news were from a southern govt they will be kudos from all. i believe i understand your fears, you will all look stupid if a place you hitherto called backward clears your doubt haba some thing that should be applauded by all nigerians is being bashed here. am sure you guys will be more comfortable if the news was that kaduna has amputated a woman

@nigeria1

you damm seem dumber by every new post. its not just the yorubas but the whole tribes in nigeria that their culture permits them plenty wives,religion has however restricted this practice satelite pictures and housing census are mostly used to ascertain the level of poverty and for housing purposes for instance an area might have 100people living in just 7houses while another area might have 50people with 60houses(thats why they say nigerians are under housed). you might also want to know why menigitis is rampant in the north,its because of large number of people cranked up in one small house. you used yar"adua as an example (you really are dumb) why didnt you use the masaba the man with 86 wives?
i have lost count with the number of times that your mighty CNN has referred to the hausa/fulani as the dominant tribe in nigeria so i am lost when you wrote i should consult them

you clearly dont know what satelllite pictures are used for and i pity you because the likes of you might end up leaders withouit a clue!

@knowall
african tradition is not applicable to only yorubas but all the tribes in nigeria. religion has however restricted its practice. my grand dad also had lots of wives but the truth is they are larger hausa fulani households than any other in the country.check the northern and southern governirs as an example and you will discover that most northern governors have large household while most (if not all) the southern governors have small households. 85% of hausa fulanis have more than a wive,you cant say the same about the southerners period

you also need to go back to school in other to understand a common fact that the man whose religion permits him to marry four wives will definitely have more kids than the man whoose religion permits only one wife. and like i said earlier, stop making a fool of your self with these pictures or do you also need to go back to school to understand that offices and business companies (which are buildings) also appear in maps and no one lives in them after the close of work? you appear to be dumber than i thought that james stays in an area and has ten houses doesnt mean he is more in number than peter,paul,fred and joshua who share the same house. also theres a big difference between they are more people in the south than the north and they are more northerners than southners take my advice! stop making a big fool of yourself!
PoliticsRe: Creation Of More State In Yorubaland An Issue Of Justice Delay Is Justice Denied by DRANOEL(m): 12:12pm On Sep 22, 2008
@nigeria1

common sense will tell you they are more norherners than southerners,its just that some of you like arguing1

the ibos are predominantly catholics and anglicans and their religion permits them only one wife so averagely an ibo family will have only 8 members,the yorubas who are 50% christian and 50% muslim are averagely 10members in a family whereas the hausa/fulani their religion permits them to marry four wives with an average household of 24members(and they marry early) -remember the man with 86wives and 170 kids- so honestly i dont know what you guys keep arguing about,common sense should prevail and not politicsstop making a fool of your self with pictures

bank of the north is now unity bank

dangote sugar refinery is in kano,he has cement factories in kogi,kano,benue and sokoto. he just procured land for a juice factory in benue,he has a flour mill in kano etc

seems you know very little about the dangote guy
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Be Divided? by DRANOEL(m): 5:09pm On Sep 17, 2008
davidylan:
Very funny . . . considering the fact that Lagos is the hub for virtually ALL the oil companies, is home to Nigeria's non-oil sector of the economy and has two very improtant trading ports . . . to claim that it will collapse without oil is incredulous.
Lagos state generated N31.48bn alone in the first quarter of 2008 . . . with not a single drop of oil!

The ports in lagos will experience little traffic? Is all the traffic at the ports oil-related?  shocked How then are the Beninoise and the Ghanaians having thriving ports when they don't depend on oil?

Lets face it Dranoel, NO city with access to the sea will suffer without oil revenue . . . the north will be the one to collapse . . . unfortunately it is landlocked and will have to depend on others to import ordinary toothpicks. Just think of the import duties you will have to pay alone and then tell me why Lagos will collapse again.
do you remember what happened when nigeria closed its borders with benin republic? their economy collapsed.

all the countries on thge west african coast have ports! how come they aint striving?

lagos is what it is today because theres money in nigeria,theres money in nigeria because theres oil in nigeria

all those companies in lagos are there for economic gains

most of our banks are big today because of huge oil deposits

and davidylan on the question of dangote siting his companies in the north does not arise because lots of his companies are in the north so as the south,his just a patriotic nigerian. or do you want me to name them?

so having people in london nd co shows you can survive on your own? if this is the only reason you have then yorubas are doomed!
PoliticsRe: Should Nigeria Be Divided? by DRANOEL(m): 4:45pm On Sep 17, 2008
most of you guys are lousy economist,if the country should break up today the part that will be most affected is the west! and you know why? without oil lagos will collapse and the effect of this collapse will be heart breaking. our economy is 90% dependent on oil which means most people are in lagos are there for economic gains,in the advent of a break up,port harchout will assume this status and most companies currently in lagos will now shift to port including banks etc. taxes which  some might want you to believe will sustain lagos will also become a port harchout thing, the ports in lagos will experience little traffic as all will be focused on port harchout(remember benin republic survives solely on nigeria's economy). the west will be faced with a huge task to maintain lagos infrastructure where as the others will be building on what they have. it is not the north that will suffer but the west

@nigeria1

first of all satelite pictures have absolutely nothing to do with population cause if it was through satelite we would say lagos has a population of 5million only and abuja has about 4million but its not so is it?

secondly instead of creating more states we should be talking of reducing them but if we most then we should go back to the census result (yes,atleast most international observers who monitored it said it,s about 94% accurate)

from these results you would see that apart from lagos and oyo the rest of the southwest has small populations (and frankly coming from some one like me who has actually travelled round the country i do agree with these figures)

ekiti for one has no business being a state likewise osun

I don't think we are going to survive this storm, especially when the oil starts depleting. Its all good now cause people are chopping money. I hope I am still alive to see this natural resource deplete. then eye go clear. let me give you examples of countries that are similar to Naija in terms of history and politcs

North/South Korea
North/South Vietnam
Pakistan/India
Russia/Poland
Russia/Georgia
Russia/Ukraine

The people in the southern part of Nigeria are too educated and mobilized to allow tyrants to thrive whereas the north will codone it in the name of Religion, indoctrinated and illiteracy, mark my words
thats funny cause i was thinking obasanjo is the biggest tyrant we have ever had plus i have served in the west fiditi in oyo to be precise and thats about the most illiterate infected place i have ever been to
