Elxandre:
I'm sitting on the fence as far this decision is concerned.

Nigeria always has a way of making even the best policies look haphazard.

But to cite cheating in JAMB as a reason for the opposition against scraping Post-UTME is mostly unreasonable.

As far as I know, cheating in JAMB is almost unachievable these days with CBT.

The funny thing is these corrupt and hypocritical schools also accuse JAMB of corruption, when in fact they are the masters of corruption.

A student scores really high, then sits back to see people with much inferior scores getting admitted into the choicest courses while the better students get nothing!

If it's only for the benefit of students, why do they generate massive amount of money from the scheme.
Many schools generate over 500 million Naira from the scheme and everyone is ignoring such blatant extortion.

These rogues even keep extending application deadline when it's obvious they have very limited slots.

FUTA last year, released a supplementary form for new courses late into the admission processes just to capitalize on the desperation of students who had already missed earlier lists.
They raised the fee of course generating close to 200 million Naira. even though they needed to fill just about 800 slots, they advertised all over Social and print media and ended up getting around 26,000 applicants.

Let FG scrap Post UTME as from next year and work really hard to ensure JAMB rewards students proportionally to their efforts.
People cheat in Jamb like rubbish. Well it's either that, or Jamb marks wrongly, cuz there is this girl I know... She stopped school at primary 2. She went to her uncle's school to continue education, and she advanced only because it was her uncle's school. A close relative of mine wanted to sponsor her to university. So he did a very basic interview. This was a supposed "graduate" of Secondary School, yet she could not spell most words. I'm talking simple words here, for example, asking a graduate to spell "word". My relative also went into maths, specifically asking her the square root of 4,and she couldn't give an answer. Even simplistic addition was unachievable by the supposed "graduate" of Secondary School. But, we decided to let her write Jamb anyway, and she got 200.
Tell me how that is possible for someone who can barely read. And there are smart guys I know that couldn't even make it up to 180. I'm talking people I'd be disappointed with if they scored less than 270.

In summary, Jamb is not a trustworthy body, and the future of our children's education should not be left solely in it's hands. At least, not until all it's flaws are eradicated.

That is why jamb said. Present your problems to us....we will adress them. Most complaints about jamb were from lazy students. Its nt like these things dont happen in p utme
"most" you say, not all. What about those who were genuinely affected negatively?
From what happened this year, Jamb is not a trustworthy body. UTME should've been scrapped instead.

I would have taken offence if I was the original writer of the piece. The source was never acknowledged, gave people the impression that you composed it yourself. Put yourself in the position of the original composer, how would you feel if someone lifts your work without giving you credit for it?
I've been in your shoes before. I know the original writer wouldn't feel good about it. But then posting the writer's name wouldn't be good would it? Suppose he wanted to keep a low online presence and he only wanted his name to be found on his article. That's why I posted the website only and not a direct link. If you see his name when you get to the article, then it's not my problem.
So you see, I'm taking the writer into consideration too. Not everyone would want their name broadcast all over the internet.

Oh really? But this particular post of yours was gotten directly from this link. Now where in your post did you include the source? Don't go on and modify your post now.
Why would I modify my source?
So posting the direct link to the exact portion of the website is what you prefer? It's okay. But I'd prefer they go there and see a general listing of other articles which they'd like.
I really do not see why you take offense to this.
