Orezy5:Ofcourse,the compound is basic in nature because metals(iron in this case) generally react with oxygen to produce basic oxides.......which when reacted with acids give salt and water. |
I think that the answer should be be NO2, because ordinary NO will firstly have to react with air in order to form a brown gas. So NO2 is acid anhydrid which can dissolve in water to form HNO3 and further react with certain metals or componds to form its salt and by the use of acidified iron(ii)tetraoxosulphate(vi)salt by slanting the tube a brow ring is formed. vicstiqs95: |
timkiss:Very correct.....according to ONE TIME SUCCESS IN JAMB and my physics teacher as well.... Thanks alot. |
dannyboii1:I think that's just the formula. |
dolapo74:B is the answer. REASON: The reaction with tetraoxosulphate(vi)acid and iron rust(Fe2O3) is an acid-base reaction or neutralisation reaction because SALT...Fe2(SO4)3... and WATER is formed. Equation of the reaction: 3H2SO4(aq) plus Fe2O3(s) ---> Fe2(SO4)3(aq) plus 3H2O |
dannyboii1:Check out the solutions to your assignment questions in the pic....
