A potentiometer wire of length 1.0m and resistance 2.0 ohms is connected in series with a variable resistance and a 2.0V accumulator of negligible resistance. What value must be given to the variable resistance so that the fall of electric potential along the potentiometer wire may be one millivolt per centimeter?

this question got me bent,
the court ordered him to pay for damage he did to your car?or the court ordered DAMAGES to be paid for your car.
if the way of his payback is monetary term then I think damages is right,but if he's asked to repair the car,I'll go for damage.
pls check the question very well and be careful of (for, to, of, the)
The answer they gave to it is DAMAGE. Winsome lady is right but it is still confusing though.....Please do you have 'TheHistorian' contact Even PES13 is no where to be found......sobs embarassed.

v=IR
also v= I(r+R)
for the voltage, 5v, when the galvanometer deflects 10mA
v=I(r+R)
5=0.01(100+R)
5=1+0.01R
5-1=0.01R
R=4/0.01
R=400ohms.
in)when ammeter reads 10A
v=IR
R=v/I
remember it will deflect 10mA(0.01A)
10Amps- 0.01Amps=9.99Amps
R=5/9.99
R=0.505Ampere.
kindly feed me back if am right, I'm not sure of this.
The first one is correct but the answer they gave to the second one is 0.1ohms.

More explanation to the No1 diagram...

The body is just about to slide down the plane,which means that the frictional force equals the force acting to slide the body down the plane.Note that the force parallel to the inclined plane is the force acting on the body along the inclined plane and is not always the frictional force.The weight of the body(mg) is acting vertically downwards at any point and the reaction force on the body(R),is acting perpendicular to the inclined plane.If the inclined plane is in a horizontal direction with the floor(i.e. if the angle of inclination between the inclined plane and the floor is zero),the weight of the body will act in the same direction with the reaction force(i.e. in a perpendicular direction with the plane).But if the plane is raised through an angle,theta,then,the weight of the body(now acting vertically downwards) will have the same angle theta with the reaction force(now acting perpendicular to the inclined plane).

I hope this helps..........

Sir,I need the names of the authors of LAMLAD CHEMISTRY and LAMLAD PHYSICS.The books are scarce in my area and any bookshop I visited keeps asking me of the author's names to be able to identify it.

Also,please don't forget the questions I asked you in the other thread about studying smart and secrete to scoring 300 + in JAMB and 95 + in UI PostUME.That is where we need to start because JAMB is already 3 months away,so that we don't waste our time studying amiss.

Thanks and God bless you for the wonderful work you do here.

I can see all the aspirants here scoring 300 + in JAMB and 90 + in UI PostUME.....!!!

Just 'one like' for those entering UI with me next year......

@ Boyejo123,

Thank you for the explanation.The question is somehow confusing but I have understood it.

I am already having headache trying to solve this physics question....maybe you can help...

A bullet is fired in a horizontal direction with a muzzle velocity of 300m/s. In the abscence of air resistance, how far will it have dropped in travelling a horizontal distance of
a. 20m? b. 40m? c. 60? d. How far will it drop in one second?

English.
Choose the option that most suitably fills the space.

Remember this matter is strictly......
(A) between you and I.
(B) among you and I.
(C) among you and me.
(D) between you and me.
(E) between you and myself.

Please,I need explanations.
Thanks.
