Isaac Success dey play ball. Just needs to up his work rate and lose a little more weight and he will be a top baller. |
andrewbaba44:According to reports, Newcastle came with 150 million pounds for Fabian Ruiz and Osimhen combined. Napoli rejected the offer. |
do4luv14:Red card against Norwich na. |
Kog45:I don't think Okoye is really a bad keeper. He is like Napoli's Meret. He likes to grow into games, does very well in games where he is tested regularly little by little. However, in a game where nothing happens except once or twice when you need a crucial save, he will fall your hand when you need him most because he hasn't grown into the game yet. It is a problem with concentration. Ederson suffered something similar a while ago but was able to ease it out of his game (although it still happens to him once in a while). |
Kog45:Iwobi did very well with the few minutes he was given. Looked very dangerous through the middle and assisted Townsend's goal with a lovely flick. |
andrewbaba44:Yes, they struggled to score and win because he was out and the stats show it. 8 wins, 1 draw, 2 losses when he played. 2 wins, 2 draws, 5 losses when he was out. If you want to disprove it please bring the stats and we can have a discussion. |
jihday:In his Klopp interview, of course. Every English speaker, even primary school kids can recognize irony in the context of a statement. After all, we were taught irony as a figure of speech in primary 4 I remember. Then you have a supposed international journalist seeking fame so badly that he intentionally decides to interpret a statement out of context in a way he deemed fit. I love the way Klopp dismissed the guy for the cheap fodder he is. The only painful thing about the whole incident is the way that journalist made Nigerians to look like fools on the international stage. It even disgusts me that I as a Nigerian would be associated with such a character because we are from the same country. |
komekn:You know the irony in this? Your images proved exactly what I said. Prior to Inter-Napoli, Napoli were the only unbeaten team in the top 5 leagues. They even had a perfect record of 8 wins out of 8 until a draw with Roma. Your images show they only won 2 games and lost 5 games out of 9 games, which is an abysmal record compared to the near perfect record they had prior to Victor's injury. Now I am even confused. Are you bashing me or supporting me? You don't bash somebody by bringing evidence that supports their argument. |
ChrisKels:How many opportunities was he given? Somebody that didn't play up to 90 mins total in the entire tournament and even when he played he barely received the ball. Please dead this talk. Chuks that started all games despite playing nonsense over and over again, why did he keep getting starts? Asides from that lucky Sudan goal, Chuks offered nothing going forward in this AFCON. Guy totally killed any output from the right wing. |
Parrot69:This is why I don't like Nigerian journalists. They can be so intelligent but also so sentimental. So Balogun and Etebo would have been solid additions to the team while Dennis who was our most in form player before the tournament wouldn't have? Ighalo who only a few months ago they were shouting for him not to come back is who they are now regarding as our savior to solve our striking issues abi? Look at how OJB disgraced himself globally some weeks ago for example. Please, let's learn to see and say things for what they are. That is why, any day, any time, Edafe Elegbete is still my go-to Nigerian journalist even ahead of etablished juggernauts like Colin Udoh. |
maidaboi:They lost all their games except one which they drew while he was at the AFCON. That is the difference between an impact player and a squad player. Same with Osimhen, Napoli struggled to win games in the league while he was out injured. If you want to know a star player, look at his club's performance in his absence. |
For someone so lanky, Sadiq dribbles so well. Reminds me so much of Kanu. |
andrewbaba44:He is not his team's PK taker. If he was he would probably have had a hattrick because he won two penalties and scored one wonder goal. |
See goal abeg |
drDoom3:Won a second penalty but his team's PK taker wasted it. |
Sadiq smartly wins a penalty to put his clubside 1-0 up. |
Subzero47:Not true. Kalu and Dennis have very similar talents. Dennis is slightly better because is like a Jota, can even play CF. He has like 3 headed goals this season. |
Congratulations to Senegal. |
nelszx:The most annoying thing about this tournament is that the best teams didn't make it to the final stages. Nigeria showed promise with cohesive play, we got knocked out. Cote d'Ivoire's attack was a thing of joy, got knocked out. Morocco another decisive cohesive team, got knocked out. Mali that were lowkey very clinical in the way they closed down games, knocked out. Algeria with their superb form didn't even come to the tournament at all. |
fabyom:If he had "just ighalo", nothing would have changed. We didn't lose the Tunisia game because of a dearth of strikers, we lost because our wingers were dull, we were unlucky, our keeper was undecisive and our midfield was thin. You could even argue Ighalo's absence contributed to the fluid way we played in the group stage. The Ighalo I saw against Cape Verde would not have pressed and created opportunities the way Awoniyi did against Egypt. Ighalo and Nacho starting together is a disaster we have seen multiple times especially at the 2018 WC, both are not vicious enough to lead the press from the front. |
fabyom:We scored only two group stage goals, Ighalo had one well taken chance. By the way, the reason I am bashing Ighalo is that reports from camp were that Osimhen was our best striker in training, but kept getting benched because of Rohr's favoritism for Ighalo. Looking at Osimhen's form immediately after that AFCON, you can only wonder how many more goals we would have scored if he was given a chance. |
fabyom:Ighalo did not carry us 2019, dead that talk. The number of big chances he missed surpassed the goals he scored by far. Remeber vs. Guinea where he refused to square the ball to Musa for a tap in? vs. SA where he missed a one-on-one Chuks set up nicely for him? the only game he really carried us in was that Cameroon game... His other games had goals from deflected shots, PKs and tap-ins. |
TheLoneCitizen:I've never seen Aribo play this poorly before. I watch Rangers' games. Bassey is a baller at LB. So fluid in his play. Like Aina but sleeker and with more football sense. |
Onuachu na bastard ![]()
|
andrewbaba44:Football is all about brand. This incident will scar his brand for life. No big team can hire him again because they don’t want to spoil their brand by association. |
Barryseal:Osimhen is better. Remember, Osimhen didn't finish his season at Lille because of COVID. Lille played only 28 games out of 38. That was his first and only season. He scored 13 goals with 5 assists in 27 games, finishing as the 4th highest goalscorer in the entire league. David has been at Lille for two seasons. His first season was when Lille won Ligue 1. David had the same 13 goals, but with 3 assists and across 37 games. That's 10 more games to get similar stats. In fact, Lille's highest goalscorer Yilmaz had only 16 goals in the entire season. Technically, Victor performed better in 3/4th of a season in his first season at Lille than David did in his full first season. That's pure stats, not even going to off the ball stuff like pressures, aerial duels won, hold up play etc. |
Karlovych:Why do players with caps reject to play for their National teams or retire from international football? |
I never though I would ever say this, but the smartest decision Arsenal can make right now is to sign Paul Onuachu, for a multitude of reasons. 1) Has every quality Vlahovic they were chasing for so long has, just less sleek. He has the height and strength, the hold up play, the link up with midfield, decent pace, excellent finishing. Only difference is Vlahovic carries the ball a bit better and is more fluid in his movement. 2) Cheap. Arsenal will get him for 25m max. 3) Temporary solution. It will be almost impossible to sign any big name striker in January (Vlahovic was a special case, he wanted to leave). Auba and Nketiah are out, Laca is struggling with fitness. Arsenal need a striker now, else their season is as good as done. Isak, David, Osimhen and co. can't leave their clubs fighting for UCL in January. Solution: Sign a cheap but proven goalscorer who is still not too old and can deputize when the real big boy comes in. 4) He's an Arsenal fan. |
solonnachi:Watch him walk into starting lineup against Ghana. |
mostob:After his mom was kidnapped, he stopped carrying hair and looking fly. Maybe he had a self-reflection and came to the conclusion that all is vanity. |
Napoli know his worth, and know one good injury-free season with Victor would skyrocket his value. Why sell for 60 million when you can hold on for an extra year, then start quoting Mbappe numbers money-wise? |
TheLoneCitizen:Osimhen is not leaving Naples until next summer at the earliest. |
