It is their choice. If the don't have any attachment to their father or his name, then it's ok. Also, in Igbo culture, if a man has not paid his bride's price, the children will belong to the family of the woman. If it is true that the man hasn't paid bride price after 23 years, then what is he fighting for? It seems that he has money to hire lawyers but not to do the needful.

at the end who will suffer, the children. Because no matter what, they will be treated like an outcast in that community. The case Wii be worse if the new husband is not an Igbo man. When my phone screen started having issues I go to my called list to call a friend the called just narrowed itself to my ex number call it. I tried ending the call for where. the minimum requirements for governorship election is ssce weather making all ur papers or not. as long as u have the certificate. the mistake obaseki made was adding his bsc certificate. because he is not qualify even gained admission into the university.

obaseki case is more than UI confirming his certificate or no.t he has multiple case to answer. he ssce get comma concerning how he gained admission with three credits. he university result and even nysc all of them get kleg. UI needs to be sue separately for giving admission to applicant who didn't met the requirements. at least to teach all these people that, life is not all about money. the fact is, obaseki parents bribed staffs of UI for obaseki admission.

But still talk to her and try to find a middle point, make compromise which might include, an introduction in the village before the wedding while it might not be the actual event but she and her husband visits to meet everyone. This can also be agreed on after the wedding.

I have Igbo friends whose traditional marriage was done in Lagos because they felt the logistics was off. Some felt their friends, bosses, mentors, colleagues who they feel are more impactful in their lives than some of the family members they have not seen or even met might not be able to share in their special day especially if the "elders" who will attend even in the village are few and can be convince to travel to the city if they insist.

Anyways, let us know how this goes and remember, it is her wedding and while you want what is best overall, she is an adult and able to make her decisions. Make compromise and listen too her arguments well.
