This lost of sense of smell and taste is what I have been experiencing since 2006 whenever I have common cold.It mainly occur in cold weather i.e every raining season.It could be covid19 or flu. Don't panic it will soon go.Stop exposing your self to cold.Bath with warm water.Prepare garlic,ginger,lemon, honey juice(all mixed together). you will be fine.

do u experience Carter or flu like symptoms? well I will say if its ordinary carter it may happen withing few days after u have taken drugs and u have to stay away from fan and anything cold like water etc then take warm water and don't on fan for at least 3days

The earlier the better, Ask for the interpretation if you cant see it clearly. its just like normal X-ray scan.
If it is indicated to have any slightest surge, or point of vein pressure or bleed, go straight to ONLY Govt. hospital with the result (LASUTH) preferably.

My brother, try these steps.

1) Go for Covid -19 test.
If positive, go for isolation and treatment asap

If Negative,
2) Go for complete Brain scan. @ Clinix or any other reputable diagnostic centre.
This will enable you clarify you've got no issue similar to heamorhagic
(poor flow of blood to some part of the brain responsible for the sense of taste & smell).
This occur due to high BP, etc.

No jokes here. Your case can ONLY be either of these two.

Guy, don't kill yourself for nothing. I stopped perceiving since 2008. Mine was always blocked aside not perceiving. I was referred to a hospital in Kaduna. I kept on going to Kaduna every two 2weeks for the treatment. Now the blockage is no longer there, I perceive once in a while and my taste is normal. I did all test and I am to go for surgery which I declined. I am living my normal life without perceiving anything.

Not perceiving and lack of taste are almost related because your nose, ear and throat are connected.

From the foregoing, I will advise you to go to a hospital that specialises on ENT. Your issue may be solved.

More so, how often do you sneeze?
Do you operate a poultry?
Do you have nasal blockage?
Do you live in a dusty environs?
Do you have itches on ur nose or ear?

I'm experiencing same issue. I was also disturbed. I sought medical assistance and I was clarified it definitely could be due to cold or a nasal infection (because the mouth and nose work similarly). Doc said it is temporary and will still go. I changed my thinking and stereotype, and I'm beginning to feel fine.
