Actually asking your brother to carry a table on his head(very stupid punishment btw) is a form of torture. It might seem like a simple punishment to you, the TORTURER but it's obviously torture to the person. According to Republican United States Senator John McCain, who was tortured as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, waterboarding is "torture", "no different than holding a pistol to his head and firing a blank" and can damage the subject's psyche "in ways that may never heal." |
Waterboarding is a torture technique that simulates drowning in a controlled environment. It consists of immobilizing an individual on his or her back, with the head inclined downward, and pouring water over the face[1] to force the inhalation of water into the lungs.[2] Waterboarding has been used to obtain information, coerce confessions, punish, and intimidate. In contrast to merely submerging the head, waterboarding elicits the gag reflex,[3] and can make the subject believe death is imminent. Waterboarding's use as a method of torture or means to support interrogation is based on its ability to cause extreme mental distress while possibly creating no lasting physical damage to the subject. The psychological effects on victims of waterboarding can last long after the procedure.[4] Although waterboarding in cases can leave no lasting physical damage, it carries the real risks of extreme pain, damage to the lungs, brain damage caused by oxygen deprivation, injuries as a result of struggling against restraints (including broken bones), and even death. |
Kobojunkie:Actually it IS torture. Causing the illusion of drowning is torture. The real question is whether or not is wrong or right or worthy doing in the name of gaining information. |
What a terrifying way to get information. What's next? Burying people alive with only enough room for a microphone? |
what is wrong with Ibadan? |
davidylan:lol dream on |
88% ![]() |
FactorChic:Exactly ![]() best if he loves you more but only by a little of course. |
loves me more. ![]() |
goodbobo:] Hardly an expert. I'm just not dumb when it comes to general matters. I wish I could say the same for others Some of them do end up getting married, if the love is there and some of them part ways after school and end up marrying other people. That's life. |
when you have something tyo offer you gamine, they'll marry you ![]() seriously why are you even worried, millons to choose from. the catch is just that 85% are retarded. |
goodbobo:You obviously didnt take Biology in school. There's a difference between simple birth control and RU-486. One doesnt have side effects that affect the womb and the other does if used frequently. I hope you are learning cos I wont be around forever to help you. |
kitaun I've disowned your wack ass. Only debo has my back. |
Actually didnt go to university in Nigeria. What did I tell you about making lame assumptions? Im not bashing Ife as a school. It's a good school, if i had stayed in Nigeria I would have either gone to Ife or U.I actually, my uncle grdauted with Chem Engineering 10 years ago however it took him 8 years to do a freaking 5 year course. I also have a friend of my sister who is STILL in Ife and this girl was in the set before me, both my sister and I plus HER sister are out of school and she's still there all in the name of doing engineering in Ife due to strikes 24/7 and again stop with the childish mentality, couples living together, not a taboo anymore, sorry to break it to you and your ridiculous talk of abortions and pregnancies, ever heard of contraceptives? I mean you claim to be a university graduate and yet from what you've written it seems contraceptive is a foreign concept for you. I worry about you people o. |
kitaun isnt Jacakal banned? |
is this the same Ife where people go in at 17 and leave at 30? as for osu and people supposedly living together, so? what does that have to do with anything? gbegborun. how are you so sure those same people that live together dont end up getting married after graduation. You dont know so stop the silly assumptions. Sure if you want a "wife" that leaves school at 34, of course Ife is the best bet. |
milkyway:Lol. Very true. But you should know by now that Nigerians contradict themselves 24/7. |
david, I thought you were smart. took you that long eh? O ma se o |
Before we point accusing fingers at nairaland members, let us reflect inward. Are you saying you are devoid of the skirmishes you have stated in this posts of yours? You dey mind am? Bloody hypocrite. When she joined the hens in those horrible threads on forum games she didnt remember the "peaceful times of Old Nairaland". oponu oshi. |
almondjoy:I agree. It's very unnerving to know that many people on this site infact graduated from university yet most of them write like like they are still in primary school. |
milky, you better run before you end up with parasites like dot as in-laws |
