You ignored my first two questions olabowole.

Like every prophet and Messenger, Muhammad had to enact the law of Allah God Almighty!
Part of the reason why Jesus existed on Earth was to "adjust" some of the barbaric Mosiac laws which included more mercy and lenancy, what was the point of Muhammad then? To watch the person die and suffer than after the death say "oh you should let her go and hbe judged by Allah". I guess Im confuzzled.

anyway back to the the inital two quetions I posed to you.

olabowale:
Islam is the very reason that Arabs do not treat women as properties,
If only this was true. How is hiding someone under a hijab so "other people cant look" not a way of establishing that such a person is your personal property?

Anyway the question is olabowale, why is it that honor killing still exists in Muslim nations or countries with a high population of Muslims.

In the case of the woman, upon her death, the 'HOLY PROPHET' said that
the mercy in her act is enough to cover many in Madina!
Why was she allowed to die? At least the woman who commited adultery in the eyes of the Pharisees was spared, why did Muhammad wait for her death before "praising" her? I try to avoid all these Quran bashing threads/posts but you are confusing me.

osisi, he pretty much just said you like twisting the truth.

It happens to be in the Muslim cultures
happens in Asia too (Japan, China and such) and they're hardly Muslim

However Im not sure if that side of the world still practices it.

Honor Killings bother me. But doesnt it have more to do with the family's culture/custom than religion?

The only people that are calling that an "interrogation technique" is the Bush administration.

Debate exist cos the Bush administration is in denial, if it was a mere "technique" it wouldnt be punishable by law. Of course the Bush crew have decided to ignore that bit of information.

who cares whether or not people AGREE with the use of torture. The fact is you were denying that such an act was torture in the first place.

asin.

why wouldnt they believe it when it's the act of waterboarding itself is against the law? If it isnt against the law why are there documents showing that people HACVE been prosecuted for partaking in such an act. Seriously are you insane or something?

The person believes they are being killed, and as such, it really amounts to a mock execution, which is illegal under international law,'
Apparently you are blind so Im gonna repost this for you. Re-read it again. Let it sink in.

And if you actually do have a degree with Biology and not some paper from DeVry, you wouldnt even agree if someone was to tell you waterboarding doesnt have any physical effects to the people. Since when does allowing water to enter a person's lungs not a physical threat?

Either way RichyBlack already warned me so Im not surprised. islander, this person scares me.
Politics › Re: Waterboarding by Dreloaded(f): 9:42pm On Dec 12, 2007
Dude did you miss this part of the article

The Bush administration continues to astonish," said Larry Cox, Amnesty International USA's executive director. "Its own State Department has labeled water boarding torture when it applies to other countries. Yet in President Bush's legal wonderland, water boarding is renamed an enhanced interrogation technique. President Bush continues to assert that his administration is complying with U.S. and international law, yet every available fact has proven the contrary."
AGAIN, the reason why it is a controversy is because it is AGAINST THE INTERNATIONAL LAW AND UNITED NATIONS COVENANT yet the Bush administration confess to have partaken in such.

Apparently you are delibrately trying to be funny so Im done.

Lmao @ no physical damage, take a Biology class and get back to me. It's one thing to say it's torture and another to believe if it's justified or not. Anyone who would deny such an act as torture is a demented sadist.

Nor do i gravitate to them to maximize my feeling of self-worth.[/quote]Stop being so damn ignorant. People that arent retarded shouldnt be bothered to separate MUSIC into white and black. As long as you can relate, what difference does it make? everyone has heartbreak, falls in love, has hatred, has love, various things that happen to all humans alike, you don't have to be a certain race to relate to such topics. That;'s the beauty of music
Besides Since when is the garbage you call music ie "Burn the battyman" worth identifying with. Inciting violence is a culture that you are proud of?

anyway back to the topic, when next do you intend on going back Leilah?

What is your point? If anything you just proved my point that waterboarding is a form of torture anad like I quoted before people have been prosecuted for practicing such in The States, the reason why there's much talk about it now is cos it's being secretly done by the government depsite it being against the law

Kobojunkie:
Oh Come on, if that was really the case, do you think this debate would even arise?? It is not Illegal in the United states at all. Infact it is not even considered Torture at all based on the definition of torture that the law has, if you were honest enough to consider the definition as is, feelings aside. Please let us stick to facts and not get all sentimental and go making up things as we want. The Courts are considering it and not yet stamped it torture and hence illegal.
Are you kidding me, the reason why there's such a hoopla about it IS because it's being done by some people when it IS actually against the law.

Some nations, including the United States, have also criminally prosecuted individuals for performing waterboarding.
It wouldnt be a big deal if it wasnt against the law.
Politics › Re: Waterboarding by Dreloaded(f): 9:13pm On Dec 12, 2007
I guess whatever coincedes or against this law is considered torture and against the law

Any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in or incidental to lawful sanctions.
The act of Waterboarding is under this so yes it is torture.

To deny that such actions is a form of torture would be idiotic, however one could argue on whether or not such actions are justifible or not. Like I said it depends on the situation.

Kobojunkie:
Again you are only telling me what I already know. I am asking you whose definition should be upheld in this case and why?? The definition given by those who want to say it is torture or that from those who say it is not necessarily torture since it does not cause lasting mental or physical harm. What is Torture according to the law??
You do know that waterboarding is actually against the law in the United States I assume? So I take it that such an action wouldnt be upheld in the courts.

'The person believes they are being killed, and as such, it really amounts to a mock execution, which is illegal under international law,'

Is it immoral?? Is teaching my brother a lesson so next time he thinks of disobeying me, he stops to think twice immoral??
is this a joke? The fact that you are even comparing carrying a table to choking to death on water bothers me.

As for immoral, I guess it depends on the situation at hand but let's use a different "punishment", do you think it's immoral to burn cigarette butts into a person's skin in the name of "teaching him or her a "lesson".
