sweetkev:Cannot take what you dish out abi! Hypocrite |
sweetkev:They should actually, they are hypergamous in nature and need to have as many partners as possible to secure the best resources. |
franchasofficia:As far as you are fair and expect to tolerate a cheating partner the way you would want to be tolerated if you are/were a cheating partner, then I have no issues with you. You can have a good day |
Dogalmighty17:Is a woman your property? This is a very useless/irrelevant analogy. |
bigiyaro:Any studies to back up this your statement? |
franchasofficia:So women should cheat too. As far as she respects her husband and is a good wife and mother. Your point is noted If you're married, I hope your wife cheats on you and chooses to respect you too |
GanagiBitrus:You can't expect him to be that either. He has illegitimate children everywhere. The fatherhood training that he is to give his children will be diluted due to the quantity, not quality. Where will he find time to work, bring home home and look after children scattered all over the country |
Here's the thing. Antivenom only works for UNBOUND SNAKE VENOM( circulating in the body and not attachedto tissues. So if the venom has entered the tissues, or bound to nerves. There's little it can do. Same principle applies to tetanus and rabies. That's why it's best given as early as possible, and it is advisable to stay still in one place, not moving Ugandan after being bitten by a snake |
QuinQ:What genes? Genes that by 5 generations later barely 1/10th of it is left. Is that one genes? Men like to talk about genes, about legacy, they don't like to talk about parenthood, responsibility and sacrifice. Genes kill you there |
QuinQ:why does she need to ruin her body and health for prick. If na pikin she want, adoption dey. |
Juliearth:let's not forget the health repercussions for the woman years down the line. Are we not tired of seeing grandmothers coughing all the time in the village? COPD is real o. All to please a man. Marriage is looking less attractive day by day |
Diamond098454:So that she will wreck her lungs and develop COPD when she is older abi. Oga should make more money simple. Or he should start eating frozen foods with the wife and children. Wife will cook with gas double or triple the portion, package the extras then microwave the next portion. Simple. |
chicfarmer:share some of the weed you are smoking because honestly. You just typed rubbish |
nervorum:Exactly!! Do other non medicine related side hustles so that you won't be stuck in this pit of donkey work that is medicine with no way out. You can wake up one day and decide to quit medicine just like a growing number of sensible people. |
ultraviolet27:after 14 years minimum medical school and residency, will you be happy with 800k per month when your tech bros are raking millions monthly?.. After working 24-72hrs at a stretch for calls, will you be happy with 800k per month? After having less time for your family than those who do 8-5, no one will be happy. The money time and sleep less nights invested to read and treat patients is worth more than 800k monthly. Many resident doctors start with about 300-400k monthly while specialists(consultants)are the ones earning 800k. Many consultants work in 2-3places just to put food on the table. Some people on these comments are right. Medicine isn't worth it. It may be Better to be a tech bro, a yahoo yahoo boy and an ashawo, than to do this doctor donkey work. |
Jeje247:Let's not forget that the 90 billion is not for doctors alone, but all health workers. That's one thing the government is not saying. |
At times I see some posts and think to myself. So this is the sperm that won? Sperm quality isn't what it used to be anymore |
Pleasedon'tmarry her before you use your bad grammar to confuse her more. Stop wasting her time and ours. Confused human being Eddodoh: |
Host78:You Sabi cook? Abeg stop harping on about cooking and cleaning. They are simple life skills that EVERY ADULT regardless of gender should have. You as a man waiting for a woman to drop from her CEO fantasy to cook and clean for you is the true delusion. When women are working the same job as men, contributing to rent and paying bills, she will now come and cook and clean, pursue children and still sex you too? Then you will come and cry when she misbehaves or chooses to run away. Better learn how to cook and clean before somebody's daughter will use menstrual blood to cook for you. No one is coming to save you by being your housemaid and sex worker for free. |
jmoore:The life jackets weren't working, removing it helped him survive sef. One of the survivors gave testimony in church during crossover. |

PurityOrNothing:you've been brainwashed. It is well. |

HacheNoire:She should sue the boy. Or use his college fund to repair the house. He needs to learn that actions have consequences. Fvck them kids is justified in this case. The next phone he gets should be bought with his money A few years in jail or Julie should reset him small. Beating him will only increase hospital bills. |
eazzzy1:Nothing is wrong with a woman providing money, but can the man also contribute to the household? Can he regulate his emotions without sucking his wife's energy? Marriage should be 100/100, not 50/150. |
SpencerForbes:Did you ever wonder why women are initiating the divorce? Nobody is downplaying the man providing, but men and society have been downplaying the nurturing and homemaking role that women have been relegated to for centuries . Dear men of the patriarchy, bringing a cheque is no longer enough to sustain a marriage. Your character has to improve. Your emotional intelligence too. Learn to be good partners. The reason why your children abandon you in your old age is because you invested little to no emotional labor in those children. The unpaid emotional labor men look down on. Being a housewife is a full time job 24/7 with no salary, no days off, no bonuses and no pension. The moment the man is tired of you. You're finished financially. But why surrender your financial future and destiny because of preeq and an inconsistent cheque? |
Stay At Home Mothers and Housewives: Why It Is an Loss for Women When Feminists Warn Women, This Is What They Mean Every time feminists warn women to put themselves first, the backlash is instant and vicious. Tell women to build careers before marriage. Tell them not to marry too early in life. Tell them to stand on their own feet financially before sacrificing themselves. Mention prenups. And the comment sections light up on cue. Pickmes scrambling to prove they’re “not like those feminists.” Mammies policing women back into obedience. Bandits raging about love, tradition, and how feminism has “ruined marriage.” According to them, feminists are bitter. Angry. Divorced. Single mothers who “failed” and now want to poison younger women. We are accused of hating marriage, hating men, hating happiness. Of misleading younger women instead of guiding them. What never gets interrogated is why men—men who do not know each other, men who would never show up for one another materially or emotionally—suddenly activate a fierce collective bro code the moment feminists tell women to secure themselves. The answer is not romance. It is fear. Men, as a class, understand something women are gaslit not to name: women’s economic vulnerability is not incidental to marriage; it is often the condition that makes marriage profitable for men. So anything that threatens that vulnerability is treated as a threat to the system itself. So let’s stop pretending this is complicated. A man marries a woman in her early twenties, before she has had the chance to establish herself financially. She has his children. She organizes his home. She manages his life. She provides unpaid, invisible labor: pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, childcare, cooking, cleaning, scheduling, emotional regulation, sexual access, social presentation. While he builds a career, a reputation, and financial leverage, she builds him. Ten years later, he decides he is done. Now he has children -his legacy. Now he has status-quietly supported by her sacrifices. Now he has leverage: and she does not. And suddenly, he wants out. This is not rare. This is not exaggerated. This is the structure feminists are warning women about—and being attacked for naming. The Case Study Unfolding Right Now This brings us to the case study playing out in real time, among our neighbors, relatives and acquaintances. A woman in her mid-to-late thirties. Married for ten years. Two young children. She did not work outside the home—not because she lacked intelligence or drive, but because she believed, deeply, in being a wife. She was raised for it. Groomed for it. Socialized to believe that wifehood was safety, meaning, and permanence. She is now documenting the collapse of that belief. Not with rage. Not with theatrics. But with visible disorientation. She looks wide-eyed in her videos, like someone who woke up inside the wrong life. She keeps asking how she ended up here. How she could do everything she was told was right and still land in a place where she feels unmoored, erased, and lost. There was no explosive disagreement. No scandal she recounts. No mutual decision. Her husband simply informed her that he wanted a divorce. Blindsided. And in the same breath -matter-of-fact, administrative - he told her he would be canceling her credit card. Ten years of unpaid labor: pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, childcare, cooking, cleaning, scheduling, emotional labor, sexual labor- cut off with a sentence. An employee would receive better treatment. At least an employee gets notice. Severance. Paperwork. She got a cutoff. She then says something else that should make everyone pause: he is allowing her to stay in the house. Allowing. That word tells you everything. She does not co-own the home she raised her children in. She has no financial claim to the life she spent a decade maintaining. This was not oversight. It was architecture. The marriage was structured so that when he withdrew consent, she would be powerless. She looks completely bewildered. She says she wakes up at 35—maybe 37—and feels old. Worthless. Unseen. Unbeautiful. And the rage-inducing truth is this: she is visibly beautiful. But a system that values women only for service will convince even beautiful women that they are nothing once their usefulness is revoked. She describes dropping her children off at school and then sitting alone in the parking lot, staring ahead, not knowing what to do with herself. Not because she is lazy. Not because she lacks intelligence. But because when your entire identity has been consumed by service, there is no self left to return to once the role ends. Then comes the sentence that breaks everything open. She says that during her depression, her husband told her she needed to put him and the children first. And then she says: “I thought I was doing that all along. I thought I was doing that.” That sentence changes everything. Because she was doing that. Exclusively. She had already centered him and the children by erasing herself. By becoming servant, maid, nanny, chauffeur, emotional regulator. By giving him access to her body. By structuring her entire existence around their needs. And still, it was not enough. At this point, language matters. What she is describing is functionally indistinguishable from servitude. To live with a man. Produce his children. Work in his home 24/7. Manage his life and his legacy. Surrender financial autonomy. And then be ousted without notice. What else do we call that? This Has Happened Many Times Before. It Will Happen Again. If anyone thinks this is new, they are ignoring history. Betty Broderick was once a young wife who supported her husband through law school. She sacrificed her ambitions. Raised their children. Built the infrastructure that allowed him to rise. When he became successful, he discarded her. Cut her off financially. Replaced her. Then rewrote the narrative so that she was irrational and unstable—while he was respectable and accomplished. By the time Betty snapped, society had already decided who the villain was. Her crime made headlines. His exploitation never did. The lesson women were meant to learn wasn’t “this system destroys women.” It was “stay quiet, or you’ll be punished twice.” And this is not just an American story. Nigerian women know this pattern intimately. It pours into inboxes. It surfaces in Hide My ID stories. It is whispered in DMs and church corners. The woman whose husband took business capital given to her, shipped her to Inukwesike, and locked her inside the shop like property. The wives who built homes they do not own and families that no longer protect them. The women discarded once the “upgrade” arrived. Different countries. Same structure. It taken a century for women worldwide to realise that they're not the only ones. The system isn't bugged, but designed that way. Women are married young and economically vulnerable. They pour in labor, loyalty, sacrifice. Men extract children, status, stability. Then disengage. And women are blamed for choosing wrong, while the system keeps rewarding the same behavior. As a woman, and as a feminist, I have a confession. I love the idea of love. I love the idea of marriage. I love the idea of family. I love the fantasy of partnership done right—Prince Charming, children, home, intimacy, shared growth. In a balanced world, where care and sacrifice move in both directions, that dream makes sense. But the world is not balanced. And I have had to wake up. This is my second marriage. It will be nineteen years in January. I’ve been married before. I’ve dated in between. And after years of watching, living, and listening, one thing is clear: The shenanigans change. The outcomes rarely do. Most men operate from an exploitative mindset. They take. They settle in. They take again. When they give, it’s at the beginning. Once married, many stop feeling the need to earn love, loyalty, or effort. And let’s stop lying to ourselves. Men who initiate divorce rarely do so in isolation. They are often monkey-branching, lining up the next woman while still standing on the current one. That’s why this case mirrors Betty Broderick so closely. Women sacrifice. Men rise. Women absorb pain. Men arrive. Women lose. And the women who sacrifice the most lose the most. We’ve watched women fall ill inside marriage depressed, anxious, depleted. Dr. Gabor Maté has written in the Myth of Normal about how married women become sick caring for everyone except themselves, internalizing pain, betrayal, disloyalty, and emotional labor without reciprocity. That's why they divorce later out of nowhere. Women are not weak. Women are overburdened. Pair that with this: around 60% of marriages in the West end in divorce, and globally, even where divorce is rare, the quality of marriage for women is often terrible. Per someone in my comments, marriage today has a poor return on investment for women. I agree and here’s why: In a social experiment discussed in psychology and education spaces, boys and girls were separated and given equal resources. The girls organized, cooperated, rationed, and sustained themselves. The boys destroyed their environment, ignored structure, lived off sugar, and destabilized everything even though they knew better. The point is not to insult men and boys. The point for me here is this: women have always been capable of sustaining themselves. We build. We regulate. We survive. Men, on the other hand, rely on women emotionally, domestically, socially, biologically - while minimizing our value and asking, “What do you bring to the table?” That question is projection. Women are the table. Men diminish women not because they don’t know our worth—but because minimizing us allows them to extract more. Marriage and family, as structured, are killing women—and still, men ask for more. Just days ago, a man asked me in someone’s comments what women bring to the table outside of something he called “Opueh.” I told him to go and ask his father. Because men learn this behavior from other men. They speak of their mothers as suffering martyrs. Then expect their wives to suffer too. Degeneracy is passed down. Entitlement is inherited. When a wife refuses martyrdom, she becomes a malfunctioning appliance. Her humanity is stripped. She becomes a tool. Men do not want wives rested, thriving, wealthy, or free. If she has money, it must somehow belong to him. A wife must either build the man financially or build the environment for him to shine. And when he wants to wander, she is encouraged to shrink, dull herself, and disappear. If this doesn’t make you sick, something is wrong. I saw this dynamic with my father and his wife. You know what he did to my mother. So no—this is not an attack on men. This is a warning to women. Marriage is only an achievement if you can say: This man improved my life. He cherishes me. He invests in me. He protects my peace. If you can’t say that, you’re not in love—you’re enduring. And endurance is not a prize. Enter relationships empowered. Keep your resources. Guard your energy. Do not let a man extract your labor, your youth, your brilliance, and your goodwill—only to discard you once he becomes “a big man.” Be strategic. Be loyal to yourself. And with that, I end my TED Talk. Copied |
