johnmba: All I explained happened some years back.
We don't depend on him for money. We are all hustling our own but he is our brother. I don't call him to ask for money but I should be able to call my own blood brother and talk with him. I'm in same shoe, my brother don't care but it's not bad because it gave me strength to fight for myself and have that respect. I know at first it was as if the world was crashing but am here struggling; there is respect when you are making it by yourself. If helps come it absolutely okay but if it don't move on. As for the brotherly love "family is not by blood; it's about who is there to stand with you when you needs it" |

Fashion › Re: My Business Is Sinking. Please Help! by drightguy(m): 10:09pm On Sep 12, 2019 |
Towerty: Good day NL fam. I need your help to get my fashion business back.
I started this business about 4 years ago sewing for clients and running a fashion school which had been good. I had a fairly large number of clients which takes care of the business expenses and meeting up with some other minor demands.
We needed space and organisation which prompted me to move into a 2 bedroom apartment of which the difference in rent is small. Most of our clients , over 95% came from online ads and referrals.
As such we had no fear that it will be business as usual since we do not operate with passers by patronising Us. Since we moved into our new place in same location., since January, business has been dead speaking on a soft term.
We run adverts even better than before , every month is a more sad story. No patronage at all. The school is practically on hold right now as no one is enrolling for our programs.
We have been keeping hope alive but it seems not worthwhile. In 3 months to come , we hope to renew our rent. And as we speak , not even a tenth is available as savings.
Please help me with suggestions on how to revive this business. Thank you.
P.s: Expenses did not increase at all. We didn't employ new staff.
Mods, pls push this to front page to get the much needed responses. Thanks Move out of that house! The owner nor pure. Don't quote me |
Romance › Re: I Don't Understand My Life Any Longer by drightguy(m): 5:15pm On Sep 10, 2019 |
Francisayo: My life has always been going well until I lost my dad when I was in year one in university, it shocked me so hard but I still manage to graduate...
I graduated and served d nation.
I have always been an extrovert and I like places that are lively...
I have a lovely gf who is so understandable even though I'm not taking care of her as expected cos of my lack of job
I served and returned home, I have spent 9 months at home since after my service, I looked for job everywhere but no job in sight, my uncle looked for job for me but d job is too tough with little salary ( they call it sales representative but d description is of sales boy), going to work from Monday 8 am to 6 pm Saturday with 18k salary which 6k will go for transport fare in a month.
I know I won't be able to cope with it so I rejected it, but it now seems I'm becoming a burden to my family as they look at me as if I don't want to work.
A woman told me to come and be teaching in her school, jss1 and jss2 only typically a new school, the school location is typically a village, but d pressure from home is much for me and doubt left me with no choice than to accept d offer, d pay is 25k per month... Though out of it I'll be d one to pay for rent and furnish it, house rent is #1500/month....
I traveled to d place today and I can't believe what i met, d place is a very local place and everywhere is just so quiet and boring, i have 5 students in my class.
My gf is already serving and we've not seen each other for months which is already having a bad effect on our relationship...i got home this afternoon and having deep thinking with tears in my eyes if this is how i will continue to live my life...Im 27yrs of age and seems no direction in where my life is going...
Pls, i need mature advice from mature people pls...
It's looking as if i can't survive here at all and my gf is complaining cos better things are not looking to be forthcoming soon.
I'm typing this with tears in my eyes, pls pardon d errors The period between 20 and 30 is the most worrisome part of adult life. You worry about so much. Your dreams. A life partner. Finances. The future. Your parents getting old. You have your age mates doing better than you,you keep wondering why things ain't working out for you.that's why it's very easy for most folks to fall into depression or develop anxiety disorders. To everyone going through this rough phase,I hope we all stay strong and keep pushing, one day we gonna be alright |

Career › Re: A Personal Laundry Business Or Entry Level Job At A Bank by drightguy(op): 4:40pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
GrabHisBalls: Most people will tell you to stick to your business, but if I were you, I would do differently.
Firstly, you're a contract staff, not so fare, but contract staffs do become permanent employees. Having said that, the job will give you a network. New banker friends, open doors to meeting new people you never can tell what impact they'd add to your life. At times, you build capacity by staying on a job that doesn't pay so well.
I have a friend that's into this laundry business. From her book-keeping record, there are days she makes above 15k, while there are days she makes nothing. Using your salary as a benchmark, she makes over that a month since the business is still new. Running expenses not inclusive.
What I would do differently if I were you. 1. Take up the job to build capacity. 2. Start up the business in my new location. 3. Get someone to run it while I supervise when I can and get my co-bankers to patronize me. Your point is very good also. |

Hello guys, Recently after resigning from a micro finance bank I started plans to open a laundry business here in my area. The idea came when I found out that in the full area there is no laundry man here. Paid for 1year store rent and about to start up the shop when I got a teller job in a bank and it will require me to relocate. Please guys should take the job or continue with my personal business? Note the salary is around 55k monthly and it's a contract job |
Family › Re: Please Help My Husband Does This Weird Stuff by drightguy(m): 1:06am On Aug 14, 2019 |
Sweettwenty8: Finaly i decided to create an account
What's up Nairaland, Please Pardon my English.
So me and my man been married for a year now but here's the thing he does that pisses me OFF!!! TOTALLY!!!! ehn, every time I cook rice and stew (fried stew/fish/meat) he'd ask me to go outside the estate to go and buy Ewa(beans) (I'm using Ewa because that's how he pronounces it. So I noticed this earlier and I started Cooking beans anytime I cook rice. He'll still request for 'Ewa' the Mama put beans made and sold by the roadside
While we dated he'd even ask me to cook for himself and his friends and if my cooking was bad, I'd have gotten feedback somehow.. how can I serve food and he'll ask me to go get 'Ewa' at Shangisha Outside Magodo Gra to mix his rice even when we have visitors he will send me a whatsapp message to still go get Ewa most times he'll even book uber if i tell him I'm too tired to drive I'm tired of going to buy Ewa!!
How do i get to know what the problem is, because it's definitely not my cooking, 2 of my office buddies they don't buy lunch because i bring enough food for 3 of us everyday and they'd have stopped eating it if it was bad Actually post like this makes it difficult to give the right advise because we don't know the truth concerning your food "tasting good" but I will have to take your words "I can cook very well" I will want to say that first, your husband is not charmed in any way; he is probably been addicted to it There is every possiblity that your husband was at a time a regular customer to the said woman thereby making him addicted to the woman's "Sweet food". Going to the extent of booking Uber for you to get the beans shows how much he enjoys it secondly, you can be a good cook yet can't cook same way the said woman does. My Lagos guys can relate well to the fact that all beans aren't beans, that you can cook rice and stew and other food doesn't mean you can cook beans very well. My advise to you is to try and learn the way that woman does her cooking (recipe) and at the right time makes your husband to understand that he should be encouraging you by eating your own beans and limit his visit to the woman's shop. Bia the act of feeding your colleagues at the office does not makes you to know you are a good cook. You better limit it before your husband gets to know. |
