Family › Re: How Much Is Ideal To Be Giving One's Wife As Monthly Stipend? by drnoel: 6:53am On Jun 20, 2016
banjolek:
Hello guys,

I need your honest opinion on this, how much is really ideal to give one's wife as monthly pocket money?.

Here's my story, i recently got married and also moved to a new 3 bedroom apartment around gbagada. I earn a pretty decent income while my wife also works in the bank with a salary of like 150k. She saves a half of this salary and uses the remaining for upkeep.

Now the issue is my wife insists that i must give her monthly pocket money and i have proposed 20k, an amount i feel is more than adequate for her if added to about 75k which she already has to herself from her salary. Also note that this 20k does not mean i dont get to buy her random stuff during the month or provide anything she asks for if i feel its a reasonable demand.

A1so bear in mind that i am still 100% responsible for providing food and other bills in the house. In addition we just moved to a new apartment like i mentioned earlier and still in the process of furnishing it so a chunk of my monthly salary goes into furnishing the house.

We also have a plan to set up a business for her, so i'm also currently saving part of my salary to fulfill that dream.

Now my wife has rejected the proposed amount of 20k saying its too small.

I need your take on this people, considering all i have mentioned above, is 20k really too small to be giving her monthly?

i wrote this in a hurry, please bear with any typo observed.
Why don't u do things in another way? Instead of u being the sole provider share responsibilities. She can't have a whole 75 thousand to herself and be demanding money.from u. Thats slavery. So sit her down and table out what needs to be done in the house and amount to be spent. The u insist everyone brings money to take care of the costs. No sensible woman will after seeing her her own accounts dwindle to nothing come and be asking u for money later. Though some women are die hard but if she still insists after siting with her tell her e go beta. Then ignore duch rubbish cos its unreasonable.

How did your friend not suspect anything through out the wedding preparations until the wedding day... haba!
He did say he knew about the south african guy cos the gurl told him but he never suspected that they were still in contact. How could he have suspected? A lady he was constantly sleeping with. Besides he said he proposed to her and she agreed so he quickly did her wine carrying which she attended. Then they set up trad and the rest for a month later as the girl requested. So it wasnt a surprise wedding as someone suggested. If it didnt happen right before my eyes I would have doubted too.

That girl is cruel... She get mind o. How is he {ur friend} now?
That was 10 years ago. He has moved on but it took him 6 good years to do so. The first year he was a shadow of his lively self. By the second year he was convinced all women are devils and daugthers of satan. By the 3rd year he was convinced he would never love again so be became one of the worst/most notorious players among our circle of friends and acquaintances. This he carried on into the 5th year. By the 6th year he had 3 baggages from 3 seperate baby mammas. By the 7th year one of them baby mammas i.e. the most accomplished managed to tie him down and thats the lady he is marrying now but he is still a notorious flirt and can't seem to know how to stop.

I didn't outrightly reject their proposals. I just told them to 'hold on' until they got tired and walked away.

I didn't want to break their hearts sad
Now thats evil and unfair but I bet I saw one most sinister than yours.

Was once men in suit for a pal of my cousin who was an architect. Guy was getting married to a babe he was dating for a few months. Organized a massive wedding to impress the bride. The bride didn't show up for her wedding but followed another nigger to South Africa. She scattered the niggers heart but we later heard why she refused. She had placed the guy on hold for years and had started dating the guy from what we heard out of pity. One would wonder what she and her sister meant by out of pity cos the 3-4/5 months she was dating the guy while waiting for her drug boyfriend in south Africa she was living in the guy's house, acting wife material. In the guys words which I believe cos I knew him pretty well, he was 4king her everyday. She didnt even drop a note or tried to explain, she just did an MIA on him.
I learnt a lesson that date. It just taught me as much as I love our naija sisters most of them gurls dont get loyality and not to be trusted. That doesn't mean we shouldn't love em. It just means in case of an eventuality don't break down. Men I saw a lively young man reduced to nothing on his own wedding day. Crying himself to pieces. It was left for us to pick up the pieces the girl had destroyed.

I believe something must be done to tame the governors, they are like gods in their various state. While all the attention is been given to FG, nothing is been said about the states.

cc: lalasticlala
The list above had sufficiently tamed them. I mean when states like Imo won't try to manufacture figures when they know people will be monitoring the state balance sheats every month. This will sufficiently help curb that man Rochas's excesses. I would like to see what ambiguous project he thinks up and how he intends to defend it.

The market women in Bodija market(Ibadan) sweat for those things they wear. They dont have corruption charges on their backs, they were not oil ministers when oil sold for the highest and money started growing wings.

Do not insult Ibadan women, they might sound/look razz but they have honor and pride in not having their names smeared in thievery.

Madam, they wear gold yes, but they also have honor.
U maybe a moderator but that comment of urs sir is unfair as it comes. Quote me anywhere. Nigerians pls we should learn to be dispassionate in our comments and thinkings. Who knows but the world is round and what someone else is suffering now may and could come around to hurt the next person. The people we should attack are those seeking to destroy others.

He said, “There was an unfortunate incident between some of our operatives and the security men attached to the Lagos State Mobile Court. The security men came for an operation around our vicinity. We were accused of slapping a magistrate. I am not confirming or debunking that, but in that situation, the magistrate did not wear uniform, so no one could identify him. But the heads of the security agencies have met and the matter has been resolved.

At highlighted, it was too hilarious I couldn't help laughing. So the magistrate should be wearing his uniform everywhere I goes most especially outside court to prevent anothet slap. Ok magistrate over to u.

I know this post would provoke many Nls but i dont care.
When i was younger i dated a guy for three months he left me for my friend because i was not perfect and quiet immature. For two years the sore remained.
It was an inception of a new ideology ;that people who claim they are in love Stick with you when the grasses are in green and when they have something to gain.
I decided to follow that thread, date only wealthy guys. Yes, i was rejected because i had no perfection so i decided to use the same standard used on me by the guy who broke my heart on other fellows.
God understands my past pain so he is no furious with me for sapping guys financially and dumping them. My reason? I was hurt so i have to hurt.
What a childish rant. So cos u had a misstep in the past u come to border us with this load of misyearn. Na wah dor naija girls with ur mentality. Thats why men will always have a field day with your kind of ladies and real.men will always avoid una wahala. Instead of you to learn from ur experience and upgrade urself u come here to talk apata. God is watching u and naija men smell your kind from afar.
