Celebrities / Nairaland Artist, G'iyaz, Gets Kcee's Attention. But He Needs Us Now! by DrOkoroafor(m): 9:39am On Mar 12, 2018
Hey guys. Do you know G'Iyaz? Yes, the Nairaland rapper. The "Good life" crooner? Yes, that G'Iyaz.

He made a remix of Kcee's "Burn" single and uploaded a video clip of it on Instagram. Kcee got to see it and reposted it. But then, a competition is going on for the best remix of the song "Burn" by Kcee, and whoever makes the best remix with the most likes and views and comments on his video reposted by Kcee wins 1 million naira!

G'Iyaz's entry is a favorite in the competition. But he is behind one person in views and comments. That's where Nairlanders come in. Let's help G'Iyaz get more views and comments. Positive comments!

Yes, because I personally think G'Iyaz's entry is better than the leading guy now. G'Iyaz deserves the price more.

Everybody on G'Iyaz's video Kcee reposted are just begging Kcee to sign G'Iyaz. That's how good G'Iyaz is.

Let's help a brother out. At least if he wins this money, he will get closer to Kcee and Five star music, and then something can happen.

So what are we waiting for? Follow this link below and get on Instagram to view, like and comment on G'Iyaz's video sharp sharp!

Lalasticlala please try get this on frontpage too. Thank you.

Celebrities / Nigerian Rappers Are Unknown In South Africa - Cassper Nyovest by DrOkoroafor(m): 1:19pm On Jan 17, 2018
Yes, South-African Hip-Hop Is In The Forefront In General. Nigerian Rappers Are Kinda Unknown In SA – Cassper Nyovest

Prior to winning best Hip-hop at SoundCity MVP. South African rapper, Refiloe Phoolo famously known as Cassper Nyovest, had an exclusive interview with Joey Akan of PulseNG, where he talked about African Hip-hop in general and the state of Hip-hop in Nigeria.

Commenting on the controversial 2017 single “You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives” where M.I Abaga admitted that South African rappers are dominating the Hip-hop scene in Africa. Cassper agrees with M.I Abaga, stating as quoted:

“Yes, South African Hip-hop is in the forefront of African Hip-hop in general. It might not be as popular as it is in South Africa in Nigeria. But I know for a fact that the rappers from Nigeria are kinda unknown in SA,” he says

“If we talk about crossing over, I know that a lot of people in Nigeria know about my music. I know that in Kenya and Ghana it’s the same thing.

“I’m not just talking about me, I’m talking about the movement. Sarkodie is big in Ghana, but are there other rappers who are as big as Sarkodie from Ghana? The South African Hip-hop movement is big across, also in London, New York…we are out there performing in different countries.”

Cassper also confessed the topic is controversial as he tried to explain his point further. “Me saying that might offend people here. They might feel that I’m taking shots at Nigerian music. But that’s not the deal. If we are to discuss in terms of numbers and appeal across the world, it’s just the way it is.”

Well, Cassper Nyovest is quite right saying this topic is controversial. But it is also advisable to note that everything he said in the interview are facts. South Africa is in the forefront of African Hip-hop, and Nigerian rappers are unknown in South Africa.

Music/Radio / "I Am Making Money, You Are Making Noise," - CDQ takes shot at M.I Abaga by DrOkoroafor(m): 10:55am On Jan 15, 2018
At the SoundCityMVP Awards, where M.I Abaga performed and gave Nigerian Rappers a little pep talk, he urged Upcoming Nigerian Rappers to “pick up their pens and start writing” as Nigerian Hip-Hop is set to rise again.

Indigenous rapper, CDQ, who obviously doesn’t share the same sentiment as M.I, took to his Instagram page to express himself on an already deleted post:

He posted in Yoruba as quoted:

“Egbon e lo joko jur. Film ni gbogbo eleyi ten act yi. Nothing like Naija Hiphop. Hiphop is Hiphop…. a wan pawo eyin pariwo”.

Which translates to:

“Bros, go and sit down. You’re just acting for the camera. There’s nothing like Naija hiphop.. Hiphop is Hiphop. We are making money, you’re making noise..”

Well, since making that statement, M.I fans have taken to social media to drag CDQ for countering M.I’s pep talk and disrespecting the Nigerian Hip-Hop legend, while M.I Abaga is yet to reply CDQ or comment on the matter.

Watch M.I Abaga’s performance and pep talk In the source below!

What is relevant here is that he posted false information capable of inciting violence, so should be allowed to face the consequences of his action. He had a chat with the police and they are not convinced of his story, so he should just prepare for his defense in the courts instead of blackmailing the government.
If the bolded is the case; then I think the court of law should take over.

Audu Maikori concocted a story, got fake pictures of mutilated dead people and posted them online just to incite violence and some people are calling for the release of the criminal. It is the activities of people like Maikori that are responsible for most of the communal violence in the country.
Chill, man. We all know he didn't intentionally post fake pictures. He was fed fake stories by his ex driver in a bid to extort money from him. He was only being compassionate.
Though, I blame him for not investigating the case thoroughly before running to Social media. But we all know Audu Maikori is a good man. A man of his people. He even campaigned for Buhari back in 2015. So why would he try to put down his Government by any means?

He has already apologized and I don't think he should be punished any further.

I wish a Christ Embassy member can just shed light on this issue. I mean, use the scriptures and open our eyes to understand that everything this man has said is ridiculous, ancient, and full of lies.

I was impressed after a young lady from that church preached to be about this issue. She made me realize that I have been deceived by the ignorance of my forefathers who misinterpreted the bible. Now I know better. Since then, I've been searching for that church here in New York.

Politics / Re: Today, I Am So Proud Of PDP by DrOkoroafor(m): 11:34am On Feb 09, 2017
TonyeBarcanista:
Today I was at the Shehu Yaradua center for the report presentation of the PDP's Strategy Review and Inter-Party Committee, which was headed by a founding member and former minister of Information, the brilliant Prof. Jerry Gana. Present at the event were the National leadership led by HE Sen Ahmed Makarfi, BoT Leadership, founding fathers led by Alhaji Adam Ciroma, and all other organs of the party including former Governors, present and past NASS members, former Ambassadors, ministers, youths etc.

Prayer For Buhari
I was filled with joy when the Chief servant of Niger state Alhaji Adam Muazu while opening prayer according to Islamic faith took his time to pray for the President and asked God to grant him speedy recovery so as to enable him resume his duty as President. Again, Senator Ahmed Makarfi took his time to offer the same prayer while giving his Chairman's remark. The prayer was again reechoed by HE Celestine Omehia during the closing prayer. I was so pleased that I'm associated with a party that refused to make unguarded and insensitive statements over thei health of the President despite political differences.

The Highlight
While the reading of highlight of the report was going on, I was nodding my head, filled with joy because the new PDP is actually what any sane democracy need. Among the proposal was establishment of a Youth wing of the party, institutionalising the social media wing, establishment of women wing, guidelines to ensure every member participate in primaries and conventions, a policy to always put forward the best and popular candidates, a guiding policy and blueprint to ensure all PDP governors and leaders perform. rebranding of the party's image etc.

During the program, the highlight of PDP's achievement since 1999 was read by Hon Rosita Chidoka, a former minister of Aviation and anchor of the event . Also the National Chairman Ahmed Markafi apologised to Nigerians for the mistakes of the party on behalf of the PDP administrations between 1999 and 2015. I was touched by this!

Chief Dan Iwanyanwu lightened the place by "gingering" party members, while Alhaji Adamu Ciroma, a founding father of the party took the Assembly through memory lane. Professor Jerry Gana reiterated the ideals of the founding fathers and charged the leadership to live by it by adopting the report. In fact, Senator Markafi was unapologetic when he hailed the report.

Why Am I Proud Of PDP?
I have always maintained that for the party to make a mark in 2019, serious reforms and rebranding MUST be done. I am so glad that we are at a stage where some of us can proudly come out and proclaim membership of the PDP.

I am also proud of PDP for not playing politics or making reckless statements on the health of Buhari like some commentators. We wish Baba safe health and speedy recovery to lead Nigeria till we kick him out in 2019 to install a PDP government.

I may have criticised some things about the party in the past, but all those was to see the party do the right thing- which they are doing.

I am proud of PDP! Come 2019 we shall march to reclaim Aso Rock!!!

Power To The People....

May God Bless Us All And Bless Nigeria
This young man and the lots in our Government are the cause of Nigeria's problems. They see politics as a thing of "party" hence build fences around themselves to protect their selfish agendas. Just take a look at this young man glorifying looters and political thieves in a bid to gain favor from them. You, Tonye, is a problem!

You remind me of Adesina before he got into power, a core critic of the government, but a wolf in sheep clothing with personal and selfish dreams with respect to your political interests. Shame on you! Shame on PDP! Shame on APC! And shame on every old cargo who failed this country!

Please I stated earlier that the political party just got an approval from CAC to hold a national convention and go to the media for publicity, else they were not allowed to.....
As to who are the sponsors of the party, no body is sponsoring this political party, you and I are making the party great, the reason for not allowing external bodies flood in is because, we don't won't this same set of retirees to come in use money and cause confusion amongst us, we want to use our sweat, strength and understanding as youths of this nation to bring the desired change Nigerians have been longing for to reality.

Thank you
Where or how can I follow them up?

I don't do WhatsApp and I don't give out my number.

They should go public and give us details. Some of us are really hungry for a youth party. But we must be wise.
