Politics › Re: June 9,2015,why Another Tambuwal Can Never Emerge. by DropShot: 6:21am On Jun 07, 2015 |
Jorussia: Let me start,by saying that i have observed, that from late last year till now, that most people who either comment or post here on nairaland,do so with either political, tribal, ethnic or religious sentiments. It will be very good, for people who either comment or post here, to do so,with facts, "common sense",and rich knowledge of our political history as a country. I followed the events that led to the emergence of tambuwal as speaker of house reps in 2011,and i want to say with all sense of responsibility, that they are totally different from what is currently happening. PDP zoned the speaker of house of reps in 2011 to the South West, where as APC left the contest open to all regions.I am aware that the two leading contenders from the south west in 2011 were muraino Ajibola, and mulikat.Instead of PDP to present Ajibola as its candidate, they made a costly by choosing mulikat.Where as mulikat was the candidate of GEJ,Pmb has chosen not to endorse any member. The most significant thing, that made tambuwal emerged as speaker was that he had more than 65% of PDP members vote casted.tambuwal scored about 260 or there about vote, while mulikat got 90 votes. Gbaja is a more popular candidate this time compared to Mulikat who was to be forced on the lawmakers. With 154 on his side, he only needs 19 more which he can get from APC (Doguro's camp), PDP and the rest parties. He has up to 90% chance to clinch it now. |
Politics › Re: The Status Of Federal House Of Representatives Speakership by DropShot: 6:17am On Jun 07, 2015 |
barcanista: APC have no business with the Tuesday election. They won't be there to supervise nor campaign for the party's nominee. With the 121 PDP members, Dongara need the 10 non APC/PDP members, 121 PDP legislators, and just 50 APC legislators to clinch the seat. It is possible Which is easier? For PDP to get 50 from APC lawmakers, all 121 PDP and 10 from other parties. Or for Gbaja to get 19 from PDP/APC?the rest? |
Politics › Re: The Status Of Federal House Of Representatives Speakership by DropShot: 6:11am On Jun 07, 2015 |
barcanista: Dongara only need to be steadfast. PDP MUST support him and I hope all PDP Representatives vote for him on Tuesday. You know very little about politics; forget the self illusion you embark on. If Femi already has 154 speakers assured on his side, he requires just 19 more from the remaining speakers who cut across PDP, APC, APGA, and other parties. And for anyone to think that he will not get the 19 from the rest 191 speakers, the person is living in the proverbial fool's paradise. Clerverly: Protection Seeker, you have started again with your jaw jaw, hollow, intellectually dishonest analysis of issues, and at end of the day, you will have "shiit"and eggs thrown at your face!
Who told you, The Hausa PDP Reps, The Yoruba PDP, The absentee APC reps will all vote for Dogara?
Mr. Taniod, you better start addressing Gbaja as your speaker to enable you prepare your attack and criticism early!
Hungry Political analyst!
Gbaja has at least 90% chance of clinching it already. |

I think this guy's over zealousness will be his downfall. I pray he succeeds though. |

This is a result of playing politics with everything in Nigeria and it has done huge damage to the nation as a whole.
To get a contract for 100 million naira, the contractor may need to part with about 30 to 40% of the contract worth. The contractor also gets paid only a part of the remaining sum as mobilization which means he/she takes loan at high interest rate to carry out the work. What type of quality do you expect in this type of situation.
We need complete overhauling of the system called Nigeria. |

tomakint: Buhari, as far as I know him remains a good man as a person but he is not the type of leader Nigeria wants at this time......in his bid to impress and to get a power grab from PDP, he failed the 'litmus test of campaign expected of a leader' which is, 'Promise little but deliver much' unfortunately, the APC machinery goaded him to 'Promise much and he may likely deliver......' well you know the rest. No way out, BUHARIMETER calling....... The president doesn't even need to deliver all his campaign promises. Anything above 60%, especially if such achievements are in core areas that affect the economy, will be fine by Nigerians. I like the Buharimeter innovative though, as far as they measure credible promises and not the lies peddled around. |

barcanista: Which "propaganda"? So the Guardian (UK) are lying? www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/01/nigerian-election-winner-muhammadu-buhari-boko-haram
Or the Foreign press that reported it are PDP propagandists? Buhari can't have the luxury of changing his words. Didn't he also deny ever promising to return Chibok gierls when we have record of him making the pledge?
Who said this... “We know how they started and where they are now and we will rapidly give attention to security in the country. And I believe we will effectively deal with them in two months when we get into office.". http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/01/nigerian-election-winner-muhammadu-buhari-boko-haram In as much as I'd like to engage you, your ability to result to uncouth words as soon as one disagrees with you and the fact that you've permanently blocked your mind from being objective whilst silently wishing this govt fail, have made me to refrain from joining issues with you. AbuMikey: Bros, wait till after July 29th before You can be listend to. Baba said 2-MONTHS, wait till after 2 Months. You are even the insensitive one here. Like You don't know Baba went to Chad and Niger 'cos of the Boko Haram menace. He's on top of the situation already. fineguy11: He gave a deadline,,2 months,,,its less than a week since he became president...GMB body language suggest he plans to crush this insurgents once and for all, hence his recent visits to chad and Niger republic....boko haram's military m has been drastically liquidated during the last days of GEJ'S presidency, the evidence is in their latest video,,shekau's absence says it all...this will all be over soon.... Just for correction sake, PMB never said "two months". I watched the interview and what he said when asked about how long he thought he will defeat BH, he said in "few months". It was misrepresentation and PDP's propaganda that popularized the 2 months. APC later came out to even refute the claim. |

Politics › Re: Buhari Criticism Complains: Are Critics Guilty Of Hate? by DropShot: 5:27pm On Jun 03, 2015 |
barcanista: The Greece Example Let us take our mind to what's going on in Greece. Then opposition leader Alexis Tsipras had promised to end a 5year austerity that the then incumbent Government were implementing. On Sunday, January 25, 2015 his (Alexis Tsipras) party swept to victory defeating the incumbent by a landslide. He was subsequently sworn in the next day as the Greek's PM amid joy. Many Greeks were expectant of an end to austerity. In fact, people organised solidarity rally in favor of austerity removal on Feb 15. But 9 days later (Feb 24), the New PM instead of ending austerity in line with his promise, agreed new austerity deal. Immediately, Greek people expressed their opposition saying it wasn't part of the mandate they gave the New Leadership. They even came out two days later to stage protests and clash with security agencies. uk.businessinsider.com/greeces-far-left-is-already-rioting-protesting-against-syriza-2015-2?r=US The Greek people never blamed the defeated party as being behind the protest. The Government never termed protesters as "haters", neither did anyone made demand for any "100" Days or said it was "too early". It was very simple, the people were angry because the government acted outside their promise.
Why should the APC supporters and Buharists blackmail us as "haters"? Does holding leaders accountable translate to hate? Is it out of place for the APC crews to tell their leaders to do what is right? Should we all remain silent? What wrong have we done?
May God Bless Us All Just reading this now makes me to believe in the saying that "he who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool, shun him". If you're not one, what is the relationship btw what happened in Greece and what PMB has done. You are very stuupid to equate "I will declare my assets publicly within 100 days" with Greece experience. Many are insane indeed but only few roam the street. |
