What if the so-called suspect was a mere passenger? This is why I often pity people who, instead of boarding commercial buses, stand by the road and flag down any vehicle they think is going their way. |
I like the advice many have given you. Relocating to Canada or UK at your age may not be a good idea. For me, starting a good business in Nigeria that targets low income earners is a good opportunity. Alternatively, upgrade your CV, learn new accounting software skills and get another job in Nigeria. |
O boy run go Canada oo. I am not a japa-advocate but if you do not have anything reasonable in Nigeria that is fetching you good money like a few of us, please leave. Starting and running a business in Nigeria is not for the fainthearted. You may not be able to withstand the frustrations that come with owning and running a business in Nigeria. Wetin your eye fit see your mouth may not be able to say. One of my boys started a poultry about two years ago. The boy don leave poultry go look for job. Canada will be a better option for you. |
I have a female cat I can give away |
Good morning house. I urgently need a new vehicle. My budget is N3,500,000. Between Tokunbo Toyota Camry 2002 to 2006 Model and Nigerian Used Toyota Corolla 2009 to 2011 model, which one is a better option? I am torn in between what choice to make and I will appreciate advise. |
What will you gain by falsely accusing a man who was doing his job? It was the Drivers' License and Vehicle papers of the driver that he collected to look at. This is so unfair. What if this man losses his job? |
I live in Nigeria for a living ![]() |
Many thanks for all your contributions. I am more inclined to stay back in Nigeria and I will. Starting life all over again in a new country is a turn off for me. For my profession I'll need to spend a year or two writing exams in any new country to get certified in that country before I will be able to get similar job and roles unless I want to switch careers. My job in Nigeria is secured. The Company is over 50 years old and even though it started as a one man business it's no longer so. After becoming a director within 3 to 5 years you become a shareholder. Shares are allotted to you as part of your employment benefits and the shares are often enough to make you part of the decision makers. I feel I have better prospects staying here and building my career than relocating to a new country and starting all over again. |
If you are currently working in a company that pays you N700,000 monthly and you are on the right path to becoming a director in that company by 2030 (8 years from now), will you resign and relocate to Canada? Note the following: 1. Directors earn not less than N2,200,000.00 monthly and salaries are reviewed upwards in the company annually. 2. You and the company both contribute to a pension fund with a reputable pension fund administrator monthly and your pension fund account balance in just 6 years of working with the company is over 8 million naira. 3. The company caters for the health needs of you, your spouse and 5 children at no cost to you under HMO. 4. You enjoy performance bonuses annually. 5. Your next promotion is to Assistant General Manager where you will begin to earn about US$6,000 per annum as foreign trips allowances. 6. You are married with 5 children. 7. You are 35 years old. |
This Nollywood actor used to be popular back in the early days of Nollywood but it appears he no longer features in Nollywood movies and has moved on to other things. I met him in a Living Faith Church somewhere in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Two days. Started on Monday and by Tuesday afternoon I knew the place wasn't meant for me. I didn't come back ![]() |
But the same EFCC could arrest Tafa Balogun, a serving Inspector General of Police at the time. Na wah oo |
tagtaye:May God open more doors of favor that will lead to better income for you in Jesus Name. |
The truth is whichever level you find yourself you will survive one way or the other. When I was earning N30,000 not too long ago I was surviving. I was a single parent with one daughter but we were managing somehow. I had neighbors who had wives and up to three kids earning the same salary and they were coping too. With that salary your desires are instinctively put in check. I didn't have a television, DVD player, home theater and so many furniture and I didn't bother. It didn't even cross my mind that I needed them because the money no even dey to buy them even if I wanted. I didn't have deep freezer or fridge or even gas burners. I just made do with basic cooking utensils and kept my mattress on the floor. It was when my salary began to increase that I began to buy other items. Just take life jeje and everything will fall in place. |
NobleDeSage001:That reference to Igboho caught my attention too. ![]() |
![]() MejiLoyon:That is just it. You summarised it very well. ![]() |
I remember this guy. He acted Billionaires Club Part 3 way back in 2003. He also starred in several movies around that same period but thereafter disappeared from Nollywood. Glad to see him again. |
SeriouslySense:Even me too oo, I remember the day I told my Dad I wanted to study Agricultural Science in the University so that I can become a farmer. I still have that dream sha. |
Oadesign:My brother tell am oo. Even if you no fit afford Honda Nissan or Mazda. However with 2.9m options brekete for market rather than buying on credit. |
Keshinr0:You can imagine oo. With 2.9m he could have gotten very good Toyota cars and save himself this embarrassment. What happened to Toyota Camry Muscle from 2007 to 2011 or even Highlander or RX 330? Infact there are many options for the money he had rather than buying on credit. |
austin4real:Please tell me more about it. Where did you buy it? |
HeavenlyBang:I won't use 20w50 because for me that will be too different from the manufacturers specification, I'll rather stick to 5w30 or 5w40 but 5w20? Mbanu! |
HeavenlyBang:First, I'll explain what the numbers in 5w20 and 5w40 mean. The 5 means that the oil will flow at zero Celsius the same way a 5-weight oil would. The 20 and 40 mean that the oil will flow like a 20 and 40-weight respectively at engine operating temperature (180-195C usually). The actual viscosity of the oil is therefore the SECOND number. The first number just indicates how resistant it is to cold. Remember that even 50-weight oil is thinner at engine temperature than 0-weight is when cold. As a result, 5w30 and 10w30 are essentially equal unless it's the dead of winter in which case a small difference might exist. I would be hesitant to use 5w40 if not specified unless it was summertime. All manufacturers specify different weights for different temperatures. Having said that, the Volkswagen Routan (which is just a rebadged Chrysler Town & Country) specifies 5w40 with VW spec 502 00 while Chrysler specifies 5w20 despite them both having the SAME DAMN ENGINE! This is very good evidence that the differences between grades are exaggerated at best and completely disingenuous at worst. Now, I would NEVER put 20 weight oil in ANY engine. The only reason that 20-weight oil exists is because the US Government fines automakers for going above the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) limit. The further they go, the more they are fined. Thinner oils like 0w20 and 5w20 are less protective of vital engine parts but they are also less resistant to motion because of their reduced viscosity. There were some Ford Mustang enthusiasts in the states that did some tests using two mustangs with 4.6L V8 engines. In one car they used 5w20 and in the other they used 5w30. Their findings were that the Mustang with 5w20 did experience a fuel economy increase of 1% but reduced the total lifetime of the engine by 30%. To me, that's just not worth it. Keep in mind also that 20-weight oil does NOT EXIST outside of Canada and the USA so if your engine was designed outside of those countries which is essentially all automakers except for Chrysler, Ford and GM (but even they use some European and Japanese engines) then your engine was NOT designed to use a 20-weight oil but at least a 30-weight. The automakers don't mind if your engine dies sooner, it means more auto sales for them. That 1% increase in fuel economy means millions in savings for the automakers with regard to CAFE fines. I even had a head tech at a Hyundai dealership admit it to me. My Veloster gets 5w40 in summer and 5w30 in the other three seasons and it works great. |

kollykolly:My cousin knows nothing about oils and has been using 20W50 instead of the recommended 5w20 for his Acura MDX 2003 Model which he bought and started using in 2014. This is 2020 and that car is still on the road running interstate (Onitsha to Jos at least three times a month and Onitsha to Aba, Onitsha to Enugu etc. regularly). I use an Acura too and bought mine last year. I stuck to the recommended oil of 5w20 but I keep wondering why my cousin who is obviously not using the recommended oil has never had any issue. Nothing don ever spoil for the engine na only break pads and tires the guy dey change. This made me believe what someone else wrote in another page that 20W50 is better for Nigerian environment. Note: my own MDX that is barely one year old is already experience shortage of oil. I drove it to Onitsha from Lagos two weeks ago and by the time I got to Onitsha, the oil had gone down. I topped it up with 1 Litre of Mobil 5w30 and drove back to Lagos and have been using it for over one week but when I checked it this morning, it didn't go down. With my experiences, I believe using a thicker oil in Nigeria is better due to our high temperature. |
ThinkB4mention:I disagree with you oo. I bought Infinix S4 in April last year and till now I've not had any issues with the phone. |
vibrant99:I intend traveling to Umuahia tomorrow through Onitsha, can you please give me more details? |
yanabasee1:In 2011, the weekend before my mum died, she had started recovering and even attended a wedding on a Saturday. However, on a Monday, just two days later, she died. |
Amotolongbo:Oga, this is in Cameroon not Nigeria |
Oladayo12:Thanks. If I was knowledgeable in your industry, I would have been able to help. But as e be, na lawyer I be and I only have knowledge of jobs in the legal industry. Where are you now? |
ezechi24:Most importantly, God's favour and then other factors including the fact that I graduated with 2.1 from my University and 2.1 from the Nigerian Law School. Most law firms in Nigeria that pay well often use 2.1 in both University and Law School as their bench mark. That is why I always tell anyone who cares to listen and who is about to enter University to study hard and come out with the best grades possible. The labour market is over saturated with graduates. Your good grades will give you an edge. Another thing that has helped me is maintaining good relationship with people. Every job I have ever gotten in any law firm was by relationship. Most times, employers do not really announce vacancies, they headhunt. By headhunt I mean they often ask those within the organisation or friends to recommend suitable people for employment. For instance, the first job of N119,000.00 I got, it was the Head of the Department in the law firm that needed a lawyer to work with that asked me to send my CV to him and this was a man I met 3 years prior to that time when we were doing a case together. Even though several people were invited for the interview, he of course preferred me because (apart from the fact that I proved my capacity during the series of tests and interviews) we had met before, done a case together and I even assisted him in getting some documents that helped his case then. The second job I got that was paying me N160,000, it was a classmate and close friend that informed me that his office was employing. I submitted my CV and I was invited for all the stages of the interviews. If I didn't have my friend there, I would not have known that they were employing. My current job too it was someone I met who works in the firm that also chatted me up on Facebook (because she had lost my number) and asked me to apply as their was an opening. So relationship is key. Always learn to build good relationships. |
francesco01:I will be driving. How far with the enforcement of the interstate lock down along the routes? Thank you so much. |
