PoliticsRe: Wike Or Buhari Who Is To Probe Amaechi? Probe On Amaechi How Far?... by drshrewd(op):
Demdem:
As i am writing this, wike and his cohorts are yet to report to the police Authority the alleged looting they claimed Amaechi perpetrated in Govt house. The commisioner came on air and told the whole world that No report yet from the govt. Does it then mean that the Kitchen utensils Wike claimed Amaechi stole didnt really happened?
Wike and his thugs are just wasting their time. Their primary aim is for Buhari not to elevate Amaechi with a federal position because they know that will be the beginning of the end of the killer party in Rivers. They have failed. Already, Amaechis men are have started taking over NDDC. APC is gradually getting even stronger in Rivers than before. The evidence wike is yet to see against Amaechi has governor, is it Buhari that will see it from Abuja?
Only fools will fall for their claims. Let them submit their claims to the authorities and they will take it up from there.
A high ranking PDP senator already said at the inception of this administration that they would use propaganda as the basic tool to fight APC and that is what is playing out now. propaganda everywhere. heard that they've spent over N5b on propaganda already sad

A governor that has the welfare of his people at hart by providing over a 100 free primary and secondary health centers scattered all over the nook and crannies of the state with modern state of the art medical facilities yet PDP want him to rather share the monies with some powerful politician and militants in the state. have you ever wondered why he is the only governor in the ss region that dares the dreaded militant and also a perceived enemy to the political heavy weights of the region. he had consistently maintained that Rivers money is for Rivers People

PoliticsWike Or Buhari Who Is To Probe Amaechi? Probe On Amaechi How Far?... by drshrewd(op):
I have these few questions for those giving in to the very puny effort by PDP to drag Amaechi’s Name to the mud

1) who is to probe Amaechi’s government wike or Buhary?
If it is Buhary that have to do this, it means that he also have to probe the 36 state governors as well as the 774 council bosses. We all know that this is insane and practically impossible. The state governors has the prerogative and time to probe and bring to book their predecessors just as the president also has the discretionary leeway to bring to book the dealings of past presidents. So people saying that the president should start his anti corruption war by probing past governors like Amaechi, Fashola, Tinubu,Elechi, Theoder Orji, et el, where we have state governors that have firsthand knowledge of their predecessors’ dealings are either out of touch with reality or deliberately obstinate

2)Probe on Amaechi by Wike. How far?
Wike’s probe panel set up over two months ago to investigate Amaechi’s government is conspicuously blown to oblivion due to dearth of incriminating evidence to indict the former governor. What PDP now resort to is cheap blackmail and propaganda that lack substance to sway the sentiment of impressionable minds. The latest was the one that was done by scannews.com a Rivers State government propaganda media that should not be taken seriously.

3)how come no commissioner, head of agency/parastatal, permanent secretary, Accountant general, etc of Amachi fingere.d so far?
In the mix of all the petty allegation of corruption levied against Amaechi why is it that no commissioner, head of agency/parastatal, permanent secretary, accountant general, former aid to the governor, etc is being indicted or seriously linked to misappropriation of found. It is almost impossible in a bureaucratic settings for a leader to be indicted without involving some of the people that worked with him. A shining example abounds in What is currently playing out in the federal level where heads are currently rolling over corruption ___former ministers, heads of agencies/parastatal, etc, are all involved in the mix.

4) How come the accountant general of the state was summarily dismissed without any reason or serious allegation of corruption against him.
Anybody that is abreast with state administration will understand that the accountant general of the state comes off as good or as bad as the governor in financial dealings because the former keeps records and is in privy of all the financial transaction of the state. The fact that the acc. General of the state was dismissed and allowed to go scort free without any serious allegation go to a greater extent to vindicate the former governor of all the unfounded allegation against him. Should the new appointee cook up some phony book? Only time will tell.

5)if Amaechi is corrupt and financially reckless as PDP claim why was it that as a governor he performed exceptionally well and did not plunge the state into debt
It is on record that Amaechi did not sink Rivers state into debt despite the monumental projects he embarked as a governor. In fact, he has one of the least debt profile among the rich states( check out the debt stock of states here) whilst leaving over N100b! owed by FG in the state coffers. Is it not preposterous to mention Amaechi’s name in the same line with financial recklessness.
For those of you that may have forgotten so soon the unparalleled giant strides of the former Rivers governor below is a summary of some of the land mark legacies of the former Amiable Rivers governor

1)Built over 500 schools with modern state of the art facilities with at least 10 in each LGA (which other state governor can beat this in quality and quantity), also transformed the once ailing state University to the standard it is today. no more cultism, strike, etc

2)Built over 100 primary and secondary health centers with well equipped facilities with at least 3 in each LGA (which other state governor can beat this in quality and quantity)

3)Trained and employed over 13,000 teachers and over 400 doctors(trained Abroad) to man those beautiful schools and health center respectively (even the president can’t match this)

4)He revolutionized infrastructure in Rivers state. Anybody living in Rivers state and really know the state very well will recall that Rivers state as a whole barely has five dualised road before the inception of Amaechi’s administration but the story has change as we have lost count in the number of high quality dualised road with underground drainage and pedestrian walk ways. Several fly over and bridges were constructed. Inner street construction was taken to another level with underground drainages and pedestrian walk way D-line, Oroworokwo, GRA areas come to mind. Check out the infrastructure in Rainbow town initiative stated by the Amaechi’s administration where we have clusters of several up rise building that are almost in completion stage. We also have the greater PH where modern city infrastructure is being constructed( Roads, underground utility system, etc) , Olympic sports complex of international standard with modern state of the art basket ball court (two), Olympic standard aquarium (Two), Fifa standard football pitch (40,000 capacity second largest in the country after Abuja stadium), volley court, etc.

How about the phenomenal revolution in agriculture, the Songhai initiative, Banana plantation, cassava plantation etc, RSSDA oversea scholarship for both indigenes and non indigenes, etc. the list goes on and on.

just found out that the probe panel was actually given one month to submit their report to the governor but up till today no news about the report undecided check out http://www.punchng.com/news/wike-sets-up-panel-to-probe-amaechi/ https://www.nairaland.com/2389818/wike-sets-commission-inquiry-probe

PoliticsRe: Election Tribunal May Annul Rivers Guber Poll – Princewill by drshrewd: 10:20am On Aug 07, 2015
cidieschat:
The governorship candidate of the
Labour Party (LP) in the just concluded
general elections in Rivers State, Prince
Tonye Princewill, has said he would not
be surprised if the courts annulled the
2015 governorship election in the state.
The LP governorship candidate described
the April 11, 2015 governorshipl election,
which saw the emergence of Governor
Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike as the worst in
the history of the state.
This is as Anglican Bishop of Evo
Diocese; Rt. Rev. Innocent Ordu, has
called on politicians in Rivers State to
emulate the political lifestyle of LP
governorship candidate, following his
peaceful, non-violent disposition during
and after the general elections in the
state.
Princewill, in a statement issued in Port
Harcourt yesterday, wondered what the
outcome of a re-run election in the state
would be, if the courts eventually
nullified the April polls, saying he would
continue to be on the side of the people
of the state.
He said, “Truth be told, the annulment of
the elections in Rivers State, will not
surprise me; but what will be the
outcome of a re-election? My stand is
with the people of Rivers State. I have a
feeling I know what they want. We’ll see!
“I stand boldly to say that the April
elections were the worst in our history;
but by our constitution, Governor Nyesom
Wike was sworn in, thanks to INEC. He
is, therefore, the governor and has a
constitutional duty to govern the state,
till further notice.”
Princewill, who denied rumours that his
petition was recently struck out by the
state governorship elections petition
tribunal, called for prayers for Wike,
whom he said , remained the governor of
the state, having been declared so by
INEC.
The former governorship hopeful said,
“So even if rumours cooked up by
mischief-makers, state that my case was
recently struck out, the majority that
follow and understand my activities know
that I have no business with the Rivers
State Election Petitions Tribunal. It was
not my case.
“He (Wike) needs the support and
prayers of all to achieve that. I refused
to approach the tribunal for many
reasons, some which I made public, but
one major reason was the fact that men
of God I respect, told me not to. And
when I prayed about it, my mind was at
peace. It still is.”
Ordu, who spoke in Port Harcourt, at the
end of the 3rd session of the 2nd Synod
of the Anglican Diocese of Evo,
commended Princewill for his peaceful
disposition and called on those who lost
elections in the state to prayerfully
accept the outcome and stop upsetting
the peace of the state for the sake of
the common good of the people.
He said, “We think strongly that
politicians of other political parties in
Rivers State have a lot of moral lessons
to learn from one of their own, Tonye
Princewill, the flag-bearer of the Labour
Party at the last gubernatorial election in
the state. His peaceful, non-violent
disposition before, during and after the
elections deserve our commendation and
those of other well-meaning Rivers
people.
“We encourage all who lost the elections
in the state to prayerfully accept the
outcome and stop upsetting the peace of
the state for the sake of our common
good. Power comes from God and He
chooses the one to give it to at any
time.”

PoliticsBreaking News:wike Probe Panel:amaechi Gov.embezzled Over N250b In 2yrs-vanguard by drshrewd(op):
The panel constituted over two months ago by the Rivers State governor Bar. Nyesom Wike to probe into the financial dealings of the immediate past administration in the state has just bla bla bla bla bla… I know that is the kind of news children of hate and jealousy would love to hear. Look at their ugly utapiapia faces and evil witch eyes staring at this post with disappointment after almost climaxing on the caption.

A probe panel of over two months and up till now no concrete findings or indictment of commissioners, head of agencies, accountant general, etc. instead we keep hearing old recycled stories of he sold power plant. Is that a crime? GEJ sold Gensco, Disco, etc, and still left a debt of over $50b. Amaechi did not incur any debt for the state instead he left the state a net creditor___ over N100b owed Rivers state by FG. They talked about the monorail without any quantifiable evidence of diversion of found meant for the project. Same thing also go for other flimsy allegations against the former state governor.

I reckoned from one of the electioneering campaigns of the incumbent governor in Obi Akpor, he promised to publish evidence of corrupt deals of the then governor Rotimi Ameachi. Up till date he has not been able to do that. In fact, am getting more increasingly inclined that Ameachi is clean because on several public appearances he has dared his detractors to provide evidence linking him to financial fraud. But guess what, his detractors keep recycling stale and unfounded road side kind of allegation without substance.

Amaechi as a person does not have the usual conspicuous avarice tendencies which the average Nigeria politician has. This is the major reason why he fell out with most political heavy weight in Rivers State who are all after their pockets. Have you ever asked yourself why almost all the political big wigs in Rivers State (Odili, Awuse, Austin Okpara, Chibudan uche, Omehia, etc) are all his enemies? He stated it clearly that Rivers money is meant for Rivers People and this is the major reason he performed as a governor and is by far the best governor Rivers has ever had (even his greatest enemies acknowledge that).

In contrast to what is playing out today, Wike has surrounded himself with countless political God fathers where vested interest is prioritized over real dividend of democracy. Imagine a state where a rugged Politian like Awuse is appointed the chairman of Rivers State Inland revenue Board, Philips Obuah, the Rivers State PDP chairman, is appointed the sole Administrator of the Rivers State environmental sanitation, and so many nepotic appointments where vested interest, stomach infrastructure and political rewards hold sway over competence, merit and track record.

Nepotism they say breeds mediocrity, the operation zero pot hole the state government borrowed N30b for is just a charade to fund mediocrity and divert the rest to refund politicians who contributed for 2015 Election. The construction of Azikiwe street that I saw trending on this board some weeks ago is just a shining example of such mediocrity at best. When I went there to see the ongoing project myself I was shocked by the quality of work going on there. A major trunk street that is supposed to link diuobu area to Eagle Island and Agip via Iloabuchi thus freeing up some traffic along part of Ikwerri road is now being constructed with the wackiest narrow open drainage system and by mushroom contractors as opposed to Julius begger whom the governor initially boosted would handle the contract.

The last time I saw project of such low quality was during Odili’s time as governor. Amachi came and rose the bar of governance that ought to be maintained or improved upon. Wike should drive around D-line and Orowoko part of PH and learn from his predecessor Amaechi what inner Street look like___ underground drainage and pedestrian walk way with high quality construction. Everybody would recall that when Amaechi took over The Rivers state government, PH and its Environs was like a huge construction site with well mapped out Blue print for quality Road construction. That is what I call real dividend of democracy not the one we are witnessing which is a mere eye service at best.
Finally, a former governor who made the following achievement without sinking his state into huge debt ought to be respected

1) Built over 500 schools with modern state of the art facilities with at least 10 in each LGA (which other state governor can beat this in quality and quantity), also transformed UST

2) Built over 100 primary and secondary health centers with well equipped facilities with at least 3 in each LGA (which other state governor can beat this in quality and quantity)

3) Trained and employed over 13,000 teachers and over 400 doctors(trained Abroad) to man those beautiful schools and health center respectively (even the president can’t match this)

4) He revolutionalised infrastructure in Rivers state. Anybody living in Rivers state and really know the state very well will recall that Rivers state as a whole barely has five dualised road before the inception of Amaechi’s administration but the story has change as we have lost count of the number of high quality dualised road with underground drainage and pedestrian walk ways in the state. How about the revolution in agriculture, the Songhai initiative, Banana plantation, cassava plantation etc, RSSDA oversea scholarship for both indigenes and non endegens, etc. In fact, you need a full book to completely reel off the achievement of this young ex governor of Rivers State.

For those of you that are breaking their heads that he is begging for a position in Buhari’s cabinet. I wonder how a man that have tested the position of a speaker and governor (16yrs in between) in one of the richest state in Nigeria be desperate about mere ministerial position. I guest he is very okay and satisfied with the position he assumed since 29th may, 2015 which is the control general of SEPTO (Send Ebele and Patient back to Otueke)

PoliticsNigeria LNG Exports Reach $85 Bn In 15 Years by drshrewd(op): 10:30pm On Jun 20, 2015
Lagos (AFP) - Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Company Limited (NLNG), a joint venture between the government and foreign oil majors, has generated some 85 billion dollars from exports since its inception 15 years ago, the company announced late Friday.

"For us, it has been a success story. Between 1999 when we came on stream and now, we have realised some 85 billion dollars from exports of liquefied natural gas to buyers in Europe, America and Asia," chief executive Babs Omotowa told reporters in Lagos.

He said the company, which was set up to harness Nigeria's vast natural gas resources and produce liquefied natural gas for export, has also paid billions of dollars to the state in tax.

"Just a few days ago, we paid 1.6 billion dollars to the government as tax and this will go a long way to assist the new government in solving some of its problems," he said.

The new administration of President Mohammadu Buhari, who became the first Nigerian to oust a sitting president in democratic elections in March, is facing a severe economic crunch.

About 20 of the country's 36 states are unable to pay workers salaries.

Omotowa said the company had paid 30 billion dollars in dividends to its shareholders over the years, including the government, which owns a 49-per-cent stake through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

NLNG's other shareholders are Anglo-Dutch oil major Shell, which owns 25.6 percent, Total LNG Nigeria, a subsidiary of French oil giant Total which owns 15 percent, and Italy's Eni, which has 10.4 percent.

Omotowa said plans were afoot to expand the NLNG plant in Finima on Bonny island, in the oil and gas-rich southern Rivers state, by 2017.

"With six trains (production units) currently operational, plans for building Train 7 that will lift the total production capacity to 30 million metric tons per annum of LNG are currently progressing," he said.

He said Train 7 would cost an estimated 12 billion dollars, create 18,000 construction jobs and bring in an additional three billion dollars in exports when operational.

Nigeria currently exports 22 million metric tons of LNG, making it the world's fourth largest LNG exporter.

Liquefied natural gas, which is created by cooling natural gas and transforming into liquid for transport on tankers, represents around nine percent of global gas demand.

Clerverly:
After a review of his emergence as the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike has described himself as “a local champion.”
The reason, Wike said is because he has spent all his life in Port Harcourt where he attended his primary, secondary schools and university in the state.
The only time he said he spent outside Port Harcourt was “when I went to Lagos for my Law School, that is a professional one.”
Wike who spoke Saturday in Port Harcourt during an interactive forum with reporters also described himself as the engine room of former Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s election into office.
The governor explained that he was teaching those in Amaechi’s camp the way to play the game of politics, because “there is no polling booth in the state that I do not know or do not know anybody.”
For those who have been criticizing his emergence as governor, he said, “the fact is that I was prepared for that election.
“I was a Council Chairman. There is nowhere in this state that I do not know. There is no ward I do not know one person.
“As I sit down here, grin I can mention one, one person from each ward grin. I know the politicians in this state. I know who has strength and who does not have strength.”
The governor also said that during the course of the campaigns, “I never emaciated one day, the truth of the matter is that if you do the election 100 times in this state, I will win.”
On the sacked lecturers of Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, Wike said that they were people who have not started work with the school at all.
