2 billion dollars to generate, transmit and distribute 2 mega watts of power to the consumers is not abnormal. It is only abnormal for people who expect university education to be free for all, power supply to be free for all, health insurance to be free for all etc. That is why the APC in their manifesto is promising to spend over 50 trillion naira in 4 years if voted into power. It is not a surprise that people who are very poor in numeracy are making bogus promises all over the place, with little or no idea of what they are talking about. If I had my way, A1 in mathematics at school cert level would be a minimum requirement for anybody who wants to contest for any political office in nigeria. This would go a long way in reducing the amount of trash in the name of campaign promises some of these politicians are making. GEJ has got the best economic team ever assembled to manage the nigerian economy, and whatever challenges that have slowed down the pace of their work has been due to outright sabotage by disgruntled elements who are out to discredit the government. It is hoped that people who know little to nothing about some issues should desist from causing confusion through some of the silly comments they are posting on social media.

this is the kind of reasoning you get when you are stocked defending the indefensible. do you know the meaning of $2b? do you know the meaning of 1MW? 3 500KVA (pf= 0.8 ), 11kv/415v distribution transformer can evacuate 1mw of electricity through a distance in excess of 10km with a total cost of less than $500k. this is my core profession. Am ashamed that a power professional could posit such an untenable confabulation

please just take note of the power generated and the cost. work out the cost of generation per MW. compare it to the one presented by our dubious minister and laugh at our stealing is not corruption government ;
