Well the thread topic never pointed to Primary schools it just says beautiful schools in rivers so I assumed that they were public secondary schools!!

And yes primary school pupils at the higher classes of primary 5 and 6 can be brought in to give the school a face lift either as a disciplinary measure or as a Civil education stratagem; also I believe either demdem or a Nairalander used the words "Resorting to self-help" somewhere in a comment meaning its possible for kids to be involved!!

I gave my comment with a clear indication that the position of the Wike Administration is unknown and as such it will be wiser to here his side of the impasse before breaking legs, heads and hearts jumping to conclusions!!

But if you do have more details on the issue, then enlighten us more so that we can have a grasp of what's going all!!

Are the "Amaechi World Class Schools" only primary as your post suggests or both primary and secondary??

If they are primary, then the entire thread was raised in error as Basic education i.e. Public Primary education is the exclusive preserve of the local government with government offering a supporting role (I believe the ratio should be either 60% for local and then 40% for the state)!! Wike shouldn't be the target of this, if its primary schools shown here, its the local government that should be called to answer!!

Or am I getting things wrong?

In any case; I am diligently watching this thread for a comment stating the official statement of the wike administration on this issue (and not sentiments); lest we fall into the hands of upcoming, disgruntled politicians desperate to make end meet!!

We as Nigerians should watch and learn; tomorrow some of you may be local government chairman, senators or even governors; so it pays to be wise and objective when review government policies or body language on issues that way you have a well rounded education!!!

hey, open another thread for those mediocre you call project and lets face the issue at hand. constructing open gutter drainage and calling it project in this 21st century something classy Amaechi can never do. go to D-line, Oruworokwo, Orashi, GRA, etc, and see what is called 21st century inner street roads that will stand the test of time___durable construction with underground drainage with pedestrian walk way. You start a thousand projects without paying contractors, you squander all the reserves of the nation, you snap pictures of contractors mobilising to site and use it for campaign to deceive gullible plebs, you do not have any money budgetted for these projects in the 2015 budget (because you knew the projects were just to scam voters anyway) and then after losing the election, you blame the new leadership for not continuing with the projects.

And finally, some ignoramuses are blaming the new government for this, even though adequate funds were not paid to the contractors for these jobs?... A question for you guys, do you have an idea of how much GEJ even budgetted for capital projects for the ministry of works for 2015?... This is just one of the many roads in abysmal state in Imo, even the "supposed" newly constructed roads being sung about have become hazards, laden with man-made erosion and gullies, those quack contractors are just inviting the curse of nature upon the people with their own hands. The state of umuapu section on owerri/ph expressway is no longer news to nairalanders or should I encourage people who are close enough to take a trip to the amanator/isiekenesi sections on urualla/ntueke-okwelle Road, this one happens to be in the governor's LGA, totally cut off, am sure many must have heard about umuguma road in owerri West, nobody will even want to hear of the poly nekede-futo ihiagwa road, I passed orlu-orsu-ihiala Road obliviously sometime last month, brothers I saw hell, I can chose to continue because it's an unending tale and please you people should not even come with that it's a federal Road chant. Last I checked there's no roads in such conditions in all neighbouring states, I wonder if no federal Road passes through those states. The big question is what us happening?

Honestly I was one of the many youths that campaigned and voted for Rochas back in 2011, but to be honest, am sorely disappointed seeing where the state is headed.
