good day guys, my lexus es330 is overheating. the mechanic suggested that the thermostat has issues that i should remove it but i don't want to remiove it even though he told me that's how he fixed his 2.4 camry when it was overheating that it might also be a water pump issue. have anyone here experienced this and how did you fix it?

If a manufacturer designs an engine and spend 2 years test in all weather and terrain.

Then they write use 5W20 oil on it.

A Nigerian now bought the car 15years later and after paying N30m for the car should listen to someone who might not even own a Corolla claim that the N5k Mobile 2000 is a good oil for the car.

The tolerance for bearings is a lot tighter now so they designed oils that will flow better at operating temperature.

There is a reason you will not put gear oil in your engine.

20W is the oil viscosity/weight at room temp.,and 50 is at operating temperature in your engine when it is hot(190F)

5W20 to 20W50 When the oil is acting as 50 weight when engine is hot, you cant see it

Well buying power of Nigerians is weak, no money, to some that car you consider dead is a prayer point to some other family.
I always come with my own oil to do servicing, I have been to a place B4 in my village where a guy use one oil to service all car lol or people buy used parts to service mechanical parts which are prone to wear an tear, ie used brake pads.

when changing the rear brake pad beware of the electric brake actuator it's not the normal way of changing the brake pad, that electric motor dey quick pack up.

I love that break hold in my GLK 2013.... It is being activated by depressing the brake pedal, and turns off when you accelerate......
ANother fun feature which I am not sure is on this civic is ECO Start/Stop; engine turns off when you come to a complete stop in traffic and on when you hit accelerate pedal....

Again, I came across how I VTEC engines work especially on V6; some cylinder would stop working to economize fuel usage... How true? Also, Does that exist on the 4 plugs too?
