Mjosh1000: car is in good shape sir I was just surprise when I see your post on coolant and you always talk about it, meanwhile I have been using water for over a yr now. Thank you for your time sir Below is the effect of water instead of coolant.. This is old elantra .. You can see the thermostat ,due to use of water the thermostat got burnt out and engine over heated and needed replacement .. A lot of people remove thermostat, which eventually will damage their car .. You might think water is ok now, coz u been using it over year now .. Just a matter of time before your car will break down ..

Uber/bolt&nut drivers in Nigeria have a not so good condition of service relative to other countries, but then it is what it is. Attempt to make them change will always be thwarted by pigs, scums, !mbeciles and enemies of progress.

God bless Since your car is tokunbo, my assumption is that the car is very ok and no engine issue .. So my advice is to start using the correct oil ,which is 5w30 .. Now it is up to you to pick your brand of oil .. I will recommend Mobil 1 extended performance imported directly by me ... I sell and use the product myself.. Keep in mind, I use them on my uber cars ..it is tested and proven.. If you ask me about me other brand ,I won't able to tell you .. I can only vouch for what I know and use |

Mjosh1000: Thank you sir for the feedback and to everyone that enlightened me on what to do. Furthermore the car has no history of overheating since I started driving it last year its like the previous user in the US used a coolant that y the water changes color after some minutes, one more question sir pls if I change to using a coolant will I be topping it like I do every 3days or its just a one time thing, doses it get dry like water too The first thing is make sure the coz of your problem is the radiator... if is the radiator issue and not engine problem.. Fix the radiator and flush out the water very well o .. Than you start afresh with coolant.. Once you put coolant than you are good to go ,no need to top anything again o . The coolant will be good for years to come . Just make sure you use the correct stuff. The coolant will product your engine for years to come. This job needs to done by a specialist ,not a do it yourself YouTube type thing o .. Let a specialist handle it o .. You can take it to Radauto or Gazzuzz ... so that proper diagnosis can be done ... At the end of the day .. The facts remain that you need coolant not water in your radiator...

olusola2bello: So is it ok to change from using water to using coolant? And what do y need to do? Yes it is ok to switch to coolant.. Am not a mechanic, but with sense I get. I will have a mechanic check the radiator to make sure it is still in good shape.. Than have the mechanic drain all the water and rinse out any particles completely before pouring fresh coolant .. That will be my advice, but since I made sure all my uber cars especially have coolant. Have not experience over heating on any of my cars. Except for my Honda ciciv fan that was not rotating... prevention is better than cure, so they say o |

Mjosh1000: Enlighten me sir, I know you are not a fan of corolla but I drive a corolla over a yr now on uber and I always use water as coolant, tho after like 1min of adding water the water changes colour into a brownish colour. Am I suppose to use that coolant instead of water. As in adding the coolant to the radiator. I will appreciate if you explain better to me and other on here. Tks Well with corolla ,I think they are over hype cars .. The only corolla I kinda like is the se version.. Now back to the main topic here. It is never good to use water in your radiator .. For the simple fact that water boils at a higher speed than coolant . When the engine is running you need coolant to cool it off , mean while water keeps boiling and at times it will cause overheating. When you water instead of coolant. It will coz leakage and rust in your radiator.. Before you know you are replacing radiator.. At times you see people park their car on the street with the hood open.. The car is overheating ,due to the use of water. Nothing to keep the engine cool. And funny thing is that even though coolant might be expensive, you only need it for few years ,some can last up to 5 years in your radiator.. It is not something you use like engine oil .. But Google is your friend, you can read more about coolant. Also if the water is turning browish ,it's either too much rust at the bottom of the radiator, bad water or something else. Have a specialist take a look at it . You might need to replace the radiator.. If it does need replacement, just make sure you look for quality coolant .. |

Crvrider: I think they are both fast becoming brands. But what dru needs is to concentrate on his business rather than waste that energy on picking on gazzuzz. Dru's got the contacts to bring good quality car products to Nigeria just like gazzuzz but at affordable price. I bought mobil1 on Tuesday for 19k. Gazzuzz was willing to sell for 18k. Only for me to come on naira land today, and dru is offering it for 17k. In this price war, I think dru wins. Another thing to strategize into your business is making the products available, in other words, how do you get the product to the consumer? I probably would have patronised gazzuzz but he was far off, but for 17k, I would have patronized dru only he advertised late. Pricing in business will either make or mar your success, however, more importantly, getting the product to the consumer is KEY. I wish both of you the best.
Conclusion: Get your pricing right. Then secondly and most importantly, work on your supply chain. Businesses depend on their supply chain to provide them with what they need to survive and thrive.

guzenaira: Oga,
You are very correct but it’s not the fault of the driver. If ‘some’ riders can change their mentality, then everything will be good.
I once had a conversation with a driver sometimes last year in Nigeria and he made me understand that he wasn’t out of job but feels he could get some extra cash when he’s free.
But do you know that some pple believe that it’s unemployment that turns some pple driving Uber so? They try to ride on the drivers dignity. I read just now where someone said a rider asked him to get condom for them. Can you just imagine that?
You tell a family man to get you condom? I read somethings on this thread and I laugh because Nigerians don’t want the next person to succeed. All this things do happen but it’s very very rare in the developed countries.
When investors come into the country, they use the loopholes to their own advantage.
Nothing can be done to the slavery aspect but I will advice the drivers to always stand tall when they meet rude riders and if drivers don’t sell themselves cheap to riders with time they will come to their senses.
I strongly believe there is money in transportation business. Forget the insults, don’t back down or stain your dignity as a man, get what you want, be an employer of labour and you will be fine. Keep in mind that drivers need to set themselves apart. Look presentable, have a clean car and small good .. From experience have come across dirty cars, smelly and unkempt drivers. The way you present yourself is how people will take you. |
Car Talk › ..... The Importance Of Mobil1 Engine Oil by dru23(op): 8:40pm On Jun 06, 2019 |
To all my customers and uber partners ..below is my past experience using the Nigeria engine oil ....when I first started doing uber.. The maintenance was mainly done by my ex manager . The oil change was not frequently and it was low quality oil mobil xhp .. The Mobil xhp was not strong enough to protect the engine from wear and tear... in essence Sludge occurred and lead to break down of engine.. Money was spend trying to fix things up. It was medicine after death that I was trying to do .. Ever since I started Mobil1 extended performance, I didnt have to worry about sludge anymore. My car ran fine and the fuel economy was great.. So if you want to protect your engine.. My advice is to use Full synthetic oil, I will highly recommend Mobil1 oil from the USA specifically Extended performance.. You will save money from less frequent oil change and also protect your engine.. Give your engine protection.. Give them Mobil 1 extended performance
