What i don't understand is why Nigerian hotel owners like puting bibles in hotel rooms. What if I am not a christian? what if I am an atheist, or a muslim or something? do i then feel unwelcome because the hotel will feel too christian or too religious for me? This crap doesn't happen anywhere but Nigeria. We religiounizing even what suppose to be secular institutions. In a hotel room you will find a bible, inside a bus some beggar posing as a prayer warrior will "pray" endlessly just to gain something from passengers, Universities will be named a very religious name as if only christians are expected to go there (they dont even consider other postential students of other faiths), even goddam movies from the socalled "professional" nollywood you will prayer shoutings with jesus's name invocked every minute or something like holy ghost fire e.t.c it makes me detest nolywood movies, not because i detest christianity, but because religious words/things shouldn't be in movies in the first place. It makes nollywood seem very backward and fake. don't they know that people who are not christians constitute a very large chunck of their audience? or are they telling us that they must force christianity down our throats or that we can go to hell as their movies only cater to christian audiences? if that is the case, then the funding they recieve from government should be scrapped because nollywood is a religious and a sectional industry. For some reason, i just feel very impressed and relieved with the russian intervention in syria. Even though am a nigerian with no connection to syria whatsoever, but i just felt extreme pity for syria and how every monster in the world is working hard to see its destruction. From the americans and europeans, to the ruthless terrorists, to the international media, everybody seemed to be supporting the destruction of this very beautiful country with beautiful landscapes and priceless/timeless historic places. And when i say historic places, i dont mean some small sculptures or bronze items, i mean massive roman era castles, timeless scientific books from thousands of years ago, classic roman and greek palaces and temples made from marble e.t.c syria was really an amazing country full of rich history, industry, agriculture, tourism, and good standard of living, but the rest of the world just wouldn't allow it be. Until russia suddenly changed the game, and all of a sudden, syria have a chance of survival again.

All i know is that i heard in a tafsir (sheikh Jafar Mahmud Adam) that ibadaat like fasting, Eid e.t.c are ibadaat Jam'eeya(or a collective ibaddaat), not the activity of only one or few individuals but rather the activity of the whole community. Thus he said, if the majority people of a particular place agrees that ramadan or eid is at sight and should be observed the next day, then you must observe with them even if you don't agree with the date. He gave example like you went to a place and found that the people there started fasting a day before you then they only fasted for 29 days and claimed to see the new moon, but you only did 28 days, in that case you must follow their greater concensus and celebrate eid with them, then later pay off the one you missed.
Or you went to a place and found that people there fasted for 29 days while you had fasted for 30 days. They did not see a new moon so they decided to complete the 30 day, but if you join them it means you fasted 31 days which is incorret, in that case, while they are fasting the 30th day, you hide in your room or where no one will see you and eat your food to your satisfaction (to avoid fasting for 31 days). The reason for the hiding to so people don't go spreading misleading information that so and so is bad he doesn't fast e.t.c

I have aslo noticed that too, including guys i ones knew as dark skinned all of a sudden their skin is lightening up. I don't think its bleaching though, just that situations are improving for many folks now. 10 years ago, majority of nigerians are merely suffering and smilling, the economic situation was bad, most people only ate foods like tuwo and kuka, eba, yam , most people bathed with low quality soaps, applied simply vaseline, and sweated under the hot sun.
But today, more people are enjoying the finer things in life, like eating good foods, chicken, beef, salads, fries, burgers are more affordable to people e.t.c, plus most people can now atleast afford airconditioners, quality bathing soaps(dove, loreal e.t.c), good working and living environments, therefore it is only natural for people's appearance to change a little. People's skin will lighten up and shine a little more than before due to improving living standards. It doesn't necessarily have to be bleaching

I am also in the same dilema here. The girl i love and wanna marry is a christian, i am a muslim. I can marry her without she converting, but what will now happen to our children? I certainly would like my kids to be muslims, but its her kids too so she will also want them to be christians, plus if i hang quran verses in my house, will she now also hang posters of Jesus and croses in my house? So even though we love each other like crazy, the truth of the matter is that if one of us doesn't change religion then there will definately be a collision of interests in the future. Seeing the problem that our union might bring in the future, i had no option but to suggest a mutual cancellation of our marriage plans. Unless ofcourse she decides to convert (its her choice).
