Who else thinks she’s just acting ? ![]() |
Sequel to this topic https://www.nairaland.com/5810169/nwachukwu-alagbu-unth-enugu-doctors It’s annoying how majority of people are quick to berate the health care workers who couldn’t respond adequately due to a lack of available PPE’s. Several health care workers have died from these diseases of high virulence and unfortunately more would still pay the ultimate price. Take Lassa fever for instance, Dr Philip Dzuana is the 6th doctor to have died so far having contracted lassa while managing a patient (I’m not sure there was even a thread to make salutations to him); not like that would change much anyways but if he was adequately protected perhaps he could have been alive today. What do you expect to happen to the nearly non existent health care system when you start losing its workers if not chaos ? Like someone suggested maybe the health care workers should just leave the hospitals for some of you to work in, afterall what do they know ? Your problem is the government who couldn’t provide and not the health care workers who chose not to risk it. Painfully, this beautiful mother of 4 had to die, may her soul rest on.

May ‘their’ soul rest on. |
DRPAIT123:chief, well done sire. |
Could be an osteochondroma or even sarcoma. Less likely to be a lipoma. See a general surgeon, get it excised and send for excisional biposy. There’s really no other alternative. A stitch in time saves nine, they say. |
![]() No be today sha. Had several experiences The most painful was a child who needed to be taken to a tertiary center for an urgent dialysis after he had been given nonsense native drugs (as treatment for a possible meningitis)that had knocked off the kidneys. The distance between my facility and the tertiary center was much and they weren’t mobile. The child didn’t have much time and if they waited to get a vehicle (which would have been almost impossible at that time), the child would die. I offered to take them with my car, a risky venture because my fuel tank was in reserve and I had planned on refueling the next day. Luckily we arrived the tertiary center on time and i helped in providing vital info to my senior colleagues at the center. The problem became payment for the peritoneal dialysis. They didn’t have enough cash at hand and were pleading that it be done as they promised to pay the next day. To make it easier I lent the relatives a small sum of 14k which I luckily had on me; he also promised to pay back the next day as I left for my facility which was unmanned all this while. Unfortunately my fuel wouldn’t take me that far as the car stopped enroute. I trekked at that odd hour for an unimaginable distance as I didn’t even have a dime to get a bike (that’s if I find sef) and finally arrived. Till date I never saw mr x neither did I see my money. Got his number, called him and when he heard my voice he dropped and barred my number. Well, i know not to do such things again. I was just a Corp doctor trying to help. |

Hello house. Would this generating set be a good gift to a younger one who needs to power his ps4 and led tv + sound system and maybe dstv. Charge his phone and laptop and a couple of energy saving bulbs.

GAZZUZZ:The vehicle in question sire is a pencil light Camry. |
Hello all, I need help as to the most effective method of lifting a vehicle. My car is quite low and I’ve had to visit the exhaust repair shop regularly. I’ve been told all sorts from a change of tyre rims to padding the springs with foam and the rest. I’d really appreciate some help. Thank you. |
#THE_STORY_OF_DR_STEVE by Anthonia Aguma. #a_cry_for_help This is one I find hard to write cuz of the emotions, issues and complexities. Let me try to write all the same. I did pre degree in EBSU 2005/2006 session with Ikeh Stephen Obinna. When result came out, Steve was first in Ohaukwu LGA and I, second. This gave both of us automatic admission to any course of our choice. We chose medicine. Fast forward to matriculation, I didn't see Steve. We later met, he said he deferred the admission. Why? His parents couldn't pay! Ahh, I was sad but couldn't do much. I only encouraged him. A year later he came into medical school. The mum was a cleaner and the dad, a brick layer. At a point, the mum was cleaning the very school hostel Steve lived in. Yet he endured the humiliation. He was the best example of a suffering and struggling student. The parents practically lived on debts to see him through. Steve did whatever could help him with any kobo. Thank God, he was brilliant, hard working, humble and very godly. Against the odds he pushed. A one time EMSA president. Towards the end of Med school, his siblings stopped school so he could continue. Then came 2017 and Dr Stephen emerged! What relief! What joy! What excitement! The mum said "ma mu buzikwa mama doc"..... Even I, I'm now the mother of a doctor. The hope was palpable. At least family debts will be settled. Younger ones will go to school. Of course Steve remembered his roots. With commencement of house job, he enrolled 3 siblings in the university same year! Debts were paid too. Hope was returning. Then the mother suffered a stroke. The father was hospitalised for hypertensive heart disease. Dr Steve shouldered all. He struggled on. He had his dreams, he pursued them. Fast forward to 2018, he was posted to Borno State for NYSC. I wasn't comfortable with that at all, I asked him to redeploy but he said he was in the capital and that there were higher chances of securing NGO or state Govt job there. Ofcuz he needed the job. He said he would be careful. He was indeed careful till 6th May 2019. He was on call that fateful day when he went across the road to buy some stuff. While standing there, a tricycle (ordinary Keke napep) chose to leave it's lane and hit Steve from the back. He fell face down sustaining multiple head injuries. Medicine failed us and we lost Steve barely 48hrs after. That's the story of Steve! But that's not why I'm here. I'm here because I have come to the hard reality that Steve is indeed gone. I prayed (yes o like I knew how to with many others), I cried, I lamented, I blamed, yet there was no calls or chats from him. Then I remembered his family. Dear well meaning Nigerians, let's give them hope. His parents are ill. Those 3 siblings are all in 200L. There is a jambite too. They have no reasonable accommodation. Dr Steve was going to do all of that at his pace but he is NO MORE! We are here. Please help. Below are the details of the siblings, they need to be in school. Amen. #save_Dr_Stephen_Ikeh_s_family #hope_for_dr_steve_s_family #help_my_friend_s_family_pls #rest_in_peace_stephen Ps: pls tell the story of Steve to whosoever can help, ngo, govt, individuals. Thanks. The death of Dr Steve is a tragic loss and his life journey cut short at this moment is really unfair to those who have drawn a source of hope from his exploits in life Forwarded as received. |
Thank you sire DavidEsq: |
JoannaSedley:Dude is impressively ignorant. |
That is not always the case sire. Sometimes ego can be a serious problem. Not all the time anyways. deltateam: |
deltateam:I would have thought the appendix was part of the intestine But then what do I know ? |
Hello house. Just a quick question What bank(s) currently give the best rates for a 360 day tenure. |
Most probably a honorary consultant (employed by the college and not hospital). A hospital consultant earns more than that sire. homesteady: |
Take home of a senior registra 2 is about 350k +/- (usually varies, dependent mostly on the center); usually after part 1. While that of a senior registra 1 is actually about 500k. Would also vary dependent on the center, mostly taxation dependent. These are for federal teaching hospitals anyways . homesteady: |
