Our Government should be able to borrow ....UNDER THESE CONDITIONS.

1) Borrow money to build 4 regional refineries. This will eliminate the fx losses from oil export/import saga. We will not need to export any oil but to use our oil here in Nigeria and sell any excess to neighbouring african countries. Masses will be able to enjoy little crumbs from the national cake ...as price of fuel will reduce to maybe 20 naira per littre....our currency will stabilise ....ohhh and appreciate....

2) Borrow to fix our NEPA electricity issues so that the common man can enjoy life, local business can grow and industries can strive, inviting foreign investment to build factories regionally so that youths can get employed.

France, Germany all started with national airlines which they later privatised, such as Lufthansa. But they received the initial govt boost, finance, and impetus, and rightly so. Nigeria is doing something similar, although with greater private involvement from the start, with its PPP arrangement. We are doing the right thing.

Go and read about what Ethiopian Airliines has done for the Ethioipian economy. They could have easily said ''We don't need a national airline because USA and France don't have one''.

Can you tell me why the UK government got out of the business? Cue, they were losing millions. You mention Ethiopian airlines, do you know why they're successful? Cue, they are part of a global alliance, creating routes where non exist. Even given this, they report about 200 million dollars in profit, and that's is because it's wholly government owned and no taxes. Plus, they have exclusive routes. Do you think the newly formed Nigeria Air (whatever) will displace or compete with global airlines for routes/prices? If you like this airline because it makes you proud of your country, then enjoy the billion dollar cake, purchased with the blood of future generations. Like the Disco and the Gencos?The last time you traveled out of Nigeria, that is if you have (which I doubt), did you have issues getting an airline ticket? PPP, at least in your jungle, is when government invest, private folks and friends of government steal the money, and leave government with the debt; but that is beyond you. As for airline profit margins (if we are to categorize this as an investment), do you know how slim they are or why airlines are consolidating non-stop? I have asked you these questions assuming you can think, but I expect no cogent response.
