Yeah so like NEPA your god always has power failure issues. Can't cure childhood cancer, can't cure congenital birth defects, can't heal amputees. Instead he requires apologists like you to come and make excuses.
grin Naah! grin

Not can't but Won't! grin (Almost Won't anyway but about 99.5% Won't). grin

Why? grin

Because, He Does Not Do Wastes and Nullities!

For Every Child Born to man IS DEAD ALREADY, requiring Life, it's Cure, which each and every individual must Choose to take for themselves or refuse same, like a Vaccine!

Thus, it is wasteful and annoying to administer drugs to a dead horse man! grin

Or to heal a dead man only for the man to still die again. Make e kukuma Die d Die wey e bin wan Die before, Simple! grin

...BUT CAN SOMEBODY BE CHRISTIAN ONLY IN HIS MIND FOR FEAR OF BAD CONSEQUENCES?
And this is why you would still not be acceptable to The Lord, for everything in this world has its corresponding consequence eg, to not eat means you will be hungry and to not sleep means you will be exhausted.

Thus, if you are not ready to forsake father, Mother, Neighbours, so called friends, relations, associations for The Lord, then you ought to stay quietly in your place!

For even self styled and self named "Christians" have not complied with This Law!

Thank God you have revealed Truly the Truth for your desire to depart from your former practice at the bolded!

Think Truly about this, if an applicant comes to you saying that he intends to leave his former employer because it was too hard, do you think that that is a good reason to employ him?

For the work of God too and the keeping of His Laws are also many but reasonable and doable, even though they require intense hardwork!

But if a person says "if you go to the Christian god and pray and no change, u no go comot from there?" I am sure you will not accept this. grin You will say God is not a magician or a genie to grant all our wants, and that his ways are better than ours.
grin I just saw you responded earlier and I do not know how I did not see it before today grin

Anyway, I still stand by and with and on my statement that

"If you go babalawo and E no work, U no go comot for there?" grin

However, my Answer here changes BECAUSE, if babalawo has power, it is because it is or was GIVEN TO HIM! like Distribution Companies (Discos)

Power does not belong to him and he will not have power, if it is not supplied and like Discos, if Power is not Supplied, they will not be able to give Power. grin

But this is not So with God, Creator of All creations and The God of Abraham! He is The Repository, Depository, Refinery, Shipper and Depot of POWER!

And He is The Sole Owner, Producer and Supplier of Power like NEPA in the 1980s.

So, thus, you either have to follow His Procedure to get His Goods and Power, or you shall have to go and buy the "goods" from "Black Market" grin (which you already know that it is not a good place to go) or you starve!

But the choice is Always yours to choose and make.

Thus, I counsel and advice that you Follow Procedure and Established Due Process As given by The Sole Proprietor of Power. grin

So equity and balance is when your enemy slaps you on one cheek and you turn the other one?
grin Under the perverse law regime, they inevitably created the practice of 2 Wrongs makes a Right therefore creating the wicked "law of vengeance" rather than equity and balance.

Thus, the solution The Lord proposed to counter the evil law is simply For One Warring Party to Cease Hostilities and Vengeance.

For in and by The Judgment of God both parties will surely be guilty, so they shall be condemned together and none shall be innocent.

For both Parties Shall and Must be Guilty of Wrong-Doing!

But when One stays innocent, The Lord And The Law would Take its Course and render Just is and Equity, even the heaping of Curses upon the Wrongdoer, while Blessings Follow the Innocent.

And being guiltless, is the way of The Lord, Hence the Necessary teaching of The Law of "Turn the other cheek"!

Again, as I stated earlier there only 4 laws in the Old Covenant that foreigners who live among the people of Israel are required to live by.
The same 4 laws are repeated by the disciples in Jerusalem when asked of what rules the gentiles should be required to follow.

I do not care to examine them since I am not of that Kingdom.

God still sends out His prophets only they are called followers of Jesus Christ and their mission is a new Kingdom, so your assertion is incorrect.
All Followers of Christ are still The Direct Followers of Christ, As An Offshoot!

They are still from the same One Tree, which is Christ, then branch is disciples, then the disciples have their own branches, hence we are all One with Christ, As Written!

Hence, No Further Work has been Done by God Himself, AFTER Christ Came!

All proceeds from Christ Himself!

The eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth law Jesus changed in Matthew 5?
grin No it did not change, it was rather restored for what does an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth Truly Mean?

Answer, Equity and balance, "Just Is" and "Accuracy" (As we say today, not a Kobo more, not a Kobo less)

For by Mathew 5, the Scribes and Pharisees and their lawyers had evilised The Law and perverted it.

So though they were mouthing The Law, it was the Evil Version they implemented, which is what you see in their Application of The Law of The Sabbath, The "Just is" or rather "in just is" of the case of the Adulterous Woman (the man was safely tucked away, and I am certain that the man was a scribe), The Law of Giving and Offerings.

They perverted and evilised The Law, thus, The Lord was setting it back to its Original Form!

Kobojunkie:
You say "No more prophets" yet every follower of Jesus Christ is a prophet of God since they are sent out by God to teach the world the Gospel of the Kingdom of God helmed by God Himself (the Spirit of Truth)

You say "No more revelations" yet John the apostle of Christ wrote of one he was supposedly given of God.

You say "No more pleadings to observe the Law of God", yet Jesus Christ, the Law of the Kingdom of Heaven, admonishes all His followers to go into the world Teaching them the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven, instructing all to accept and obey the teachings of Jesus Christ in order that the Kingdom may be theirs.
Surely, you know that "No more Prophet clearly meant No More Prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah and Co.

Same for John and the other Disciples of Christ, who was incidental, ancillary and directly connected to Christ, therefore, he reasonably can not be severed from Christ.

Further on Pleadings to Observe The Law of God, I believe you know that it is in reference of the Fact that God will Not be Begging Again to turn Away from their sins, And the Records Prove this.

It is rather men who are begging and warning men that the Anger of The Lord is near!

If you read through the details of the Old Covenant itself, you will learn that indeed the foreigners, though allowed to live among the people of Israel, do not partake of the promise of the Old Covenant just as is stated clearly that only those who are of the Blood of Jacob inherit the land forever.

Out of the 613 commandments, there are only about 4 that foreigners are required to obey - foreigners are not included in the Tithing structure even. They are just allowed to live in the land, but they do not benefit from the promise of Abraham.
I think you have it the wrong side up, it is rather that foreigners are supposed and expected to keep The Law save for a meagre few which they Might be Forbidden from taking up but I am not very certain of this forbidden part for I think that they are not up to 5 out of your 613.

However, I have seen some Discretionary Laws eg Numbers 15:14-16

And if a stranger sojourn with you, or whosoever be among you in your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord; AS YE DO, SO HE SHALL DO.

15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord.

16 ONE LAW AND ONE MANNER shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.

The Laws which Prohibit and Exclude A Foreigner who wishes to abide with them are very few!

Out of those 613 as you have often said for I really do not know how many they but how many there Expressly and Directly Prohibit Strangers/Foreigners?

I would like to examine them if you have them!

The things Jesus spoke of in Matthew 5 are higher requirements than the Laws of Moses. For example compare Jesus’ standard on adultery, revenge etc.

You’ll see Jesus requires a higher standard from His followers.

Our righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees and the Sadducees who were custodians of the Mosaic Law. A higher standard is required of Christ’s followers.
In addition to what I answered earlier to wit-

Learn to read before you respond next time.

The details of the Old Covenant are there in that book for you to read up on.
You misunderstand me, I am updating that you have now taken cognisance that Foreigners are Partakers Under the Covenant where in the past you contended with me that the Covenant was Exclusively for Israel Alone!

So now, I am trying to understand your view on why you now think that the Covenant is Limited Only to the Landed Territories of Israel? For you said

I just got to this part of your post

19. “Today I am giving you a choice of two ways. And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice will bring a curse. So choose life! Then you and your children will live.
20. You must love the Lord your God and obey him. Never leave him, because he is your life. And he will give you a long life in the land that he, the Lord, promised to give to your ancestors—Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
Just saw this statement you quoted above!

Do you not See that this is the SAME STATEMENT MADE IN THE LAW/COVENANT with no variation?

[b]Deuteronomy 30:15-20
15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply:
and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life,
and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob,
to give them."

The Very Same Pronouncement of The Law, No Variation thereof!

I see that you have updated that The Law/Covenant includes Foreigners which was our previous contention in the past but now you make the error of limiting it Only to the Landed Territories of Israel.

For, would your opinion be different if you took great cognisance of the Words of God, inserted in that same Covenant made to and with Abraham, the First, and the Grand Father of Israel to wit "All the Families of the earth shall be blessed"?

This was the Position when Isaac ran with it until it was passed to Israel whom you appear to recognise and accept but it also appears that you discard Abraham, Who is the True Undersigned Party while all others, that is Isaac and Jacob where just Privies and heirs to an Already Established Covenant/Law.

So, would you recognise Abraham as the Original Party and One who Undersigned that Covenant?

Jesus gave higher standards than the laws of Moses with some commandments in Matthew 5. So something definitely changed.

Meanwhile, do these laws still apply to believers today?

1. Animal sacrifice
2. Stoning adulterers
3. Tithing (people don argue this one tire)
4. Cities of refuge for those who committed manslaughter.
5. Cutting off a woman’s hand for squeezing the testicles of a man.
6. Men with crushed testicles cannot join the assembly of men presenting themselves before the Lord
Yes, they do!

But the Problem is None is Righteous to Implement and Execute The Law, for The Law Can Only be implemented by a Righteous man hence "Let he who is clean (Righteous) cast the first stone" can not be found in the earth.

But, The Lord came to Restore It As it was, when it was given to Moses!

For the unfairness lies in the fact that whilst we are opened to be cross-examined, you, the Op however, are secured from being cross-examination, thereby perpetrating an injustice to the other party.

Thus, the equity and fairness is that both parties should have equal opportunity to be cross-examined on their respective views and not one party alone.

I have told you and said it before on this Forum, I
have never been attached to any specific church because I love to See and Carry Out My Own Experiments Myself because I Love to Know that Which Is True, whether it is Pleasant or Not.

Thus, I already knew growing up that People are Liars and churches are made up of people, thus, the churches are Liars.

And you JWs are Another Species of Liars.

While others are Regular Liars and Clear Frauds, you JWs are Liars and Snakes, Selling your.Lies with Sweetness, Telling People what they would like to hear knowing that they must think it good since people are generally foolish (but they don't know that); Using The Truth to Lie (As Satan did to Eve and the world has done to the children of men)

No church taught me and No Church teaches the things I say!

I have not been to Any Church for more than 3 or 4 years and I will Never go, except as an Event Centre!
