Every month, as part of our community service we provide free hosting for the first year to 3 new signups.

How does this work?
At the beginning of each month, we will raise a theme and will accept entries from the public. At the end of the month we will select  the 3 best entries and offer them free hosting for the first year.

This cycle goes on monthly with different themes for each month.
We intend to kick this off this May 2011.

This thread will be updated with the theme for May 2011.

Sadly I have temporarily left the web dev scene and i'm chaneling all development into trudigits so I cant join you in this but here's my idea and something I wished I developed earlier.

A site like a web dev's e-home. This goes more than a forum. Personal space, group activities and events, debates, quizes e.t.c. Then there is the tech market, more like the freelance part of the site. You get into a person's profile and you know how good he is with what he does. Members collabo for different projects and the site should serve as escrow. I have to stop here before I start imagining too much. Its fun to imagine things when I dont have to be the one coding 'em.

Goto Zenith's website, and fill the web surfer form including the bank branch you want to collect the card from. Take note of the reference number you will be given on the site after filling the form. Could be DNS propagation. It is possible your DNS is still being propagated hence files are being served from both old and new server. It could also be that the DNS records on your account on the new account still point to DNS records of your account on the old server. It could also be that your new host has disabled some dependent extensions for whatever reasons. Theses are all possible scenarios.

We also lack internet facility for speed and efficiency of the internet. Wed4Afrca is busy selling domain and hosting files at remote servers. Not ideal for my secure root files,, so I say No to this weapon of mass deception, I am not novice, I am grade A webmaster.

When you are ready to pay the cost, I will host your files on a server in your bedroom with full root access.

Some top host companies in the world collocate their servers in third party datacenters. I collocate my servers in a detacenter and not in my backyard because my backyard just happens to be in the wrong place with no infrastructure to power my servers and allow me offer hosting prices at competitive rates.

You have made no point if you are saying hosting sites on servers in a datacenter outside Nigeria is insecure because the servers are "remote". Host the site in your bedroom and see what slyr0x will do to it .

I have been blessed with clients from Heaven so far. I have had only one fatal bug that multiplied member account balances by itself. The file for that particular calculation was set to run by 2am daily. Well the guy called me up by 3am and told me wassup. Now people with 500 Naira were have millions of Naira that they could issue withdrawal requests on.

Well some days back I commented a block of code during test/troubleshooting and didnt uncomment it after fixing.

I told the guy my mistake (in customer friendly terms) and fixed it. Being a mission critical site, I already set up a backup system that takes several db backups daily so i restored db with the closest backup which was just a couple of minute back.

Well, as a client from Heaven. . .  he requested for my bank details 

Saved by the nerd.
