if this is true, then I think he'll be needing help cos he would have truly list it. It's a democracy and not some personal business run by someone who cannot keep his emotions in check and take criticisms. It's a pity how a lot of these people know nothing about social contract. How power ultimately belongs to the people who have in turn entrusted it to them for safe keeping but reserve the right to question how these powers are put into use. Even when the reasons behind certain decisions or actions appear to be glaring or crystal clear, as long as the people do not understand them, you owe them am explanation. Now it is ridiculously absurd for you to apply punitive measures against a citizen that has merely criticised your actions and requires an explanation. On what grounds then, do you inflict punishment? If it's sanction, what law did he undermine? From what law does this sanction derive strength. Despite all that we say about ourselves, it's time we became our own judges. Enlightened fellows like Fashola should know certain things better than others. It's on this premise that I chose to remain in doubt pending further clarification. |

Sanboy25: Hum ok. ![]() |
what better than the harmony of those keys and string to revive a worn out self. Good music has a way of running the lenght and breath of the body, strengthening the spine, awakening the soul, warming the blood and calming the nerves. Thanks yield. I consider this a gift. |
Delay defeats equity |
SniperInADiaper: Did you pee your pants? Can't explain that feeling. yikes!!! Some thing like irritation mixed with disgust and just a little scare ![]() |
@Ikengawo I have read this your write up and re read it all in the bid to make meaning of what you've been crying about, but to no avail. do you mean to tell me you're wiser than everybody that has reviewd Wole Soyinka' s work? If you have issues with the man its understandable but condemning literary works that have international reputation as well done, you're only helping him discredit your opinion since the world can't be wrong just for you alone to be right. I didn't think I'ld need to remind you that Soyinka is a activist. That means he is in no particular camp. He goes around treating 4k ups irrespective of whose ox is gored. So don't tell me how he was supporting a certain man yesterday and not today. About the FRSC job, FRSC does not build roads, they supervise its use so I can't connect how he is responsible for bad roads or am I missing something? The issue is about Good and bad, right and wrong and what side you take dictates what you get. I really didn't think you would have me telling you all these. Please leave Chinua Achebe out of this. You lot should learn not to mangle issues. If we should look at it that way, then we can say Achebe contributed nothing to nation building since he always declined every call to even come close. But NO! They are two different people who chose separately how to live their lives. respect that and stop attempting these lame comparisons. |

I hate horror movies. Anybody seen 'the ruins'? |
do you ever give thought to the source of the 'bear-ability' of life? The reason why one thing is termed interesting and the other not? Have you wondered at a world where all appears as you want it, no challenges? apart from its impossibility, I bet you, you'd be worn out before long and You'll wonder endlessly. cos the charm in life is derivable from its ups and downs. life is interesting cos you don't know what comes next. Good feels good or probably better cos you know what bad feels like. freedom is better appreciated if you've been incarcerated. Hence we learn that as bad as bad is we need it too to make life worth living. Be not the one that Let's that friend walk before you realise the essence of their presence. |
sambos994: So tell me, how did he miraculously come up with N34,000?didn't you read the story? |
it will be good to have Soludo as governor if only he is willing to dedicate time, resources and honesty to the job. It will good to have him there if he understands the height of expectations mounted on and expected from him and is ready to live up to and transcend these expectations. It will be wonderful to have him on that exalted seat if really, as a patriot he understands the exemptions thathave been made on his behalf and is willing to through his achievements quell the ill feelings of his counter parts who were sacrificed on the alter to have him paint us 'bright yellow'. Soludo, if you come in, it's a big shoe you step into and that, you must surpass. I am not willing to vouche for the fact that there will be no consequences if you go there to play the gluttonous politics of 'all man fill your pockets' ogwu cha kwaa ka ora'm n'onu. |
Have you ever wondered at how when ladies beg God for children, they make reference to the lack of a child's cry in their home or to wanting to have same? A very sharp contrast is having the same lady that said this prayer ask her child to shut up when he is crying or complaining that he cries too much. Sometimes we humans tend to appear confused. Appearing like we don't know what we want. Cries are compulsory when you talk of babies though they may be irritating but I bet you, you'll get scared and complain if you get a child that does not cry. Our entire lives is a continuous struggle towards perfection, though we can never get there, we can get better. With each new art you master, you discover a lot more arts you have to learn in other to compliment it and thus striving, days grow into weeks, weeks into months and months into years...you just got old. Humans will always complain. It's an essential tool in craving for perfection. Deal with it! Look for other things in people that make them good, focus on them and if you find enough treasures in that person, stick to them cos truth be told, there ain't one person alive that's not annoying in their own way. |
Hello E<R>F |
Kingsley1000: Yea..in my abode at inland town,Onitsha,,we're having light like 12/24...buh in my town,Enugu ukwu,,derez neva anytin like power interruption.sup!am sorry to say this but YOU LIE |
the story might have lacked substance but the message was not lost. I don't doubt it one bit. In times of crises, it's the innocent that suffer the most. Walking about without enough caution in their innocence. It happens in all crises torn regions. The JTF do not have a sniffer with which to detect the insurgents. they rely more on deductive reasoning than inductive reasoning. so guys chill. It's a pity though but then it's a price we must pay. If you've stayed in a crises or war thorn region, then you know what am talking about. |
...that part in a movie where everything is happening too smoothly just before the bad guy wreaks the real havoc. I can't help but believe something is about to go wrong. Meanwhile am not about to pretend I didn't see the quoted According to him, Major Mustapha’s release would not have been possible by the ordinary fiat of the court if not for the underground work of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and the consent of the executive of the President Jonathan led administration, adding that the Groups decided to come out openly to appreciate the exemplary leadership qualities of the President Jonathan since assumption of office which had been unprecedented in the BehindBased of Nigeria. |
inasmuch as the article has said the glaring truth, its a pity that a careful look at the position of things will reveal that even when the whole country is divided and unable to agree on a lot of things, apart from soccer, the next most commonly held belief is the fact that power must not get into the hands of an Igbo man again. It does not matter that the reason behind this stand is not only flimsy but repugnant at best. When humans have made up their minds to be hateful, there is no amount of good deed that will be too difficult to be termed evil. i am avoiding saying things which though obvious, will portray me as being biased. I have long stopped to feel sorry for myself and my brothers. We seemed to have let the maligning and sheer hatred get to us. The Igbo man is usually thick skinned and unusually courageous but what i see these days is a group of sissies whining and hawking their priced intellect and ingenuity to buyers who do not even appreciate them. I wonder when the Igbo man will come back to his senses and remember (he used to know this) that power is not given but taken and strikingly painful is the fact that he has at his disposal all it takes to get wherever he wants to be. Its true that the Igbo man's wish to have a united Nigeria could be likened to being suicidal cos i don't see why i keep putting my hand in the fire and getting burnt at every attempt. if only we would quit sitting around if only we would stop whining if only we would get over this servitude if only we would unite if only we would learn that its not always about the money if only we would make up our minds and decide what we want It is then and only then that we will find that that which we seek has been at our doorstep all the while. if we want a united Nigeria so much that we could die in its pursuit, walk up and take the mantle of leadership. STOP REJOICING AT BEING ASKED TO SERVE,service that would result to nothing ...and you OP, stop dreaming. |
adaobi123: Lol. I'm the Ada, so I need to protect the house. ![]() i could sing you some igbo songs that will make you not announce yourself as Ada anymore ![]() |

. Seun: Create a thread in the appropriate section if you want to do this.am wondering what exactly comes to mind when you talk of derailing. i should tell you how a parket of saint Louis sugar i used to buy for seven naira is now 'God knows' how much? the real chatting and derailing starts after a certain kind of bonding that will only have to develop. we start from the familiar to the unfamiliar. you can't force it. so basically we keep saying anything we don't want to put on a new thread till derailing takes off properly. |
MAY YOUR JOY NEVER FADE!!! |
2legit2qwt:That guy on the right is screaming like he were possessed by the king of demons and he just met the king of exorcists. bush pig! |
2legit2qwt: I give the movie 1.0, so cheesyah ah! You guys should come off it. Just enjoy a good movie and move on. If you had your lecturers award you that little, told be in school all your life. Be generous with the scores now. On a more serious note I don't think they were bad movies not like there aren't better ones but they're still cool. |
I give it a 6 (and only because I'm in a good mood today). More like a rehash of die hard, this one. Let me not even begin a lengthy rant.
excuse me? Where you watching the back of you device? Or listening in on just the audio? ...I liked 'DIE HARD 5' |
