Is the company in the CV you submitted to your Uni?

Do you have evidence to show your continuous relationship with your daughter's mum for minimum 2years?

If not she doesn't qualify as your unmarried partner and is not yet your wife. She can't be your dependant

With your daughter you need to provide 1. Court documents to show sole custody 2. Death certificate to show you are the surviving parent or 3. Compelling reasons as to why she should travel with you.

Consent letters and affidavit won't suffice.

Since your intention is to legalise things with her mum,apply on your own first but include your daughter as your dependant since she depends on you financially. When you are settled and ready to take the next step you can return home to do so and they can both make their application after that.

I have a kid outside wedlock and the child has been with me since age 4 and I planned making her my dependant on the form so she could join me in the U.K few months upon getting there so she could get quality education and better style of life. Her mother and I have not been in terms for close to 5 years that I never saw her since that long. Now she just made it up with me to continue life with me so i'm considering making her also my dependant for the sake of the child.

My people , kindly advice on how to go about my application with her and her daughter as dependants to join me in the U.K later bearing in mind we are currently not married but have an 8 year old girl together but we plan to get married later

You won't need a TB test

Your final return is less than 6months

You have lived in the UK before then and it isn't a requirement there

Ensure you put a cover letter stating why you didn't supply any TB certificate plus your stamps to show entry and exit and refer to them in your cover letter

Your cover letter should have statements like this:

Guidance on Tuberculosis tests for visa applicants states that "You will not need a TB test if any of the following apply: you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months"

Following this, I have lived in the UK from xxyyy to xxyy on an ABC visa/permit, I briefly visited Nigeria from xxyy to xxyy and returned to the UK. I final moved home from xxxyyy. As at the date of my application I have only spent xyz weeks/months in Nigeria and therefore is exempt from doing a TB test

This is just a draft and I tried to keep it simple and not technical

Please, I need your take on this. I stayed in the UK for about 1.5 years and I came back in May this year. However, I am applying for a visa in August. Which means I do not need to present TB Cert. But the problem is, I made a quick 2weeks visit to Nigeria in February before my final return in May. Therefore, counting from May is below six months while counting from February is above 6 months.

Please, considering this factor, do you think I can still apply without presenting TB cert.

Do you have an affidavit?

If you do upload that and a cover letter when you go for biometrics


If you don't get one and have it handy, the eco may request for it through NSF or actually ignore it since 3names are constant.

Either way, proceed with your biometrics and let's see how things unfold

I just discovered that my daughter has 3 names on her birth certificate. Let me explain, her name on her passport and NIN is Okoye joy chiamaka and the name on her birth certificate is Okoye joy Chiamaka Ngozi. I totally forgot that her grand mum gave her that name and it was included on her birth certificate. I have already applied for visa for her and biometrics is on Monday. Pls is this going to be a problem? How do I solve it?

If you haven't gotten a response by Friday 11th August then you can chase.

When I click on “Others” I was asked to give details about the apartment.

Thought other packaged document should come with it.

Although we got a BRP mail advise.

My brother applied for a study visa and has since gone since February. So he decided to bring in his wife and kid after settling down. They were both the dependent when he applied.
So due to passport issue, the wife did her application first and then got her visa since 3rd of July, but had to wait because of their son.
So when his son’s passport was ready, he had to pay for a date for his appointment at TLs Abuja and he successfully did his biometric on the 26th of July.
Till today, they haven’t gotten any email. Now they’re really worried because he doesn’t want to leave his son behind. Also, he thinks him already there and his wife having a valid visa should help with their son’s processing/application but nothing yet. Please what can be done or they shouldn’t have to worry about anything as both of them have a valid visa?

He paid for standard and not priority.
