Romance › Re: Dating An East African Man. Can't Tell If He Is Serious About Me. Help! by duduade(m): 7:49pm On Jul 15, 2018
vonnsherry:
I am an African American woman who recently began dating an east African man. I've never dated anyone other than African American men and don't have much experience dating as a whole. I've dated ex-husband for most of my adult life. Anyways, I like this man but I'm very skeptical of him. I've read the horror stories and have seen some glaring red flags. He came on very strong in the beginning. Very complimentary and blowing up my phone at all hours of the day. He made some big declarations at the beginning that seemed a bit farfetched. Love and such after a couple of weeks of knowing each other. Trust me, when he said it, my eyes rolled to the back of my head. Anyways, we slept together and the relationship seemed to deepen from there. He has gradually shared more and more personal stories with me and his struggles, things no one else knows. I've been supporting him through tough times. He has become more open, tender and less guarded. This isn't to say that things have been roses. There are a lot of lies he is just now admitting to. My thought is that I was initially supposed to be a fling and so he felt no problem lying to me. Now that things have deepened a bit, he is of his own free will coming clean and being honest-ish. LOL. My concern is that while things seem to be deepening, he is still flirting and entertaining the affections of women on social media. We have been dating for just over two months so I have no claim to this man and have been very self-protective because I know how these things can go. I've been doing my best to learn about his culture and to learn his language to foster a real connection. I'm just not sure it's worth it if he has a ton of female friends and a roving eye. In the beginning, he told me he is a cheater. LOL! That he is not a perfect man. That he will likely cheat on any woman he dates, not because he does not love them, but that it's a compulsion. I think I appreciated his honesty. I kept going out with him in large part because in this day and age, I think it's incredibly challenging to find a man who will not cheat when presented with the opportunity. Anyways, I don't know if I should invest here. I'm keeping my options open but I do really like him and I feel like we are getting somewhere. The only thing I will say is that he has very few hobbies and not a lot of interests to talk about. I am pretty active and am constantly working on things so sometimes conversations can be hard. I am always trying to introduce him to new things but he is so closed off sometimes to American things because of his contempt for this country. He had a full life back home. He misses it. That's a big thing, too. He may go back in a few months permanently. He asked me if I'd come visit him but I don't know how genuine that request is. I don't want to get hurt but I feel like it's coming. I've read that African men are NEVER serious about African American women. That we are play things and that they prefer to marry women from home. Is that true? Is this a waste of time?
This is a waste of time... Both of you aren't on the same line and neither do you have anything in common... Try to protect your heart and avoid been defrauded

I am just tired of everything but i cant just forget about her, severally have tried to move on but something is always dragging me back.
We stopped talking to each other close to a month now (though we stay in the same compound) because i discovered that she is this person that can never be remorseful and ask for forgiveness even if its glaring in her eyes that she offended you but will always want you to make the bold steps for reconciliation and i became tired of everything and allowed things to go her way.
She has cheated on me severally even upto the point of inviting a man from her home state and the dude spent upto a week with her and i still forgave her not to talk of another dude that she had a fling with in the same compound and a certain Hausa boy who is so interested in her but she keeps on saying that he is just a bestie and nigga has been visiting very often.
Tomorrow is her birthday and she has traveled to her guy's place in Akwa ibom although she lied that she went to her village though i intend to call her this night to wish her hapy birthday
Does it mean i still love her even against all odds? Or how can i just move on? Cus i am still emotional

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Sister Might Have Been Brainwashed By GNLD by duduade(m): 10:16am On May 26, 2018
mannatech:
I have always been able to guide my sister when it comes to issues that needs external input or advice.

My sister was able to retain her job after her nysc but had to resign last year. Since then, she has not been lucky in the labour market.
The reason why I opened this thread is because of recent events that have finally provided her with another job .
Am not satisfied with the kind of job because of numerous red flags that kept popping before this supposedly job.

Let me start from the beginning to explain how I came to the conclusion that the company might be a gnld company.
Last month, My mom's former customer came visiting and on trying to catch up on old times asked about my sister and mom told her how she was working but had to resign and now she's job hunting.
So the customer now promised mom she might be able to help my sister get employed in the company she works in and asked for my sister's phone number.
She called my sister and directed to a man in Abuja where my sister is based.
Few days later, I had to call my sister With instructions to travel down to our village for a distant relative's burial as our representative but she didn't pick up until hours later with the excuse that she was in a seminar.
That should have the first red flag but I didn't read much into it under when few days later, my mom told me a very ridiculous statement about my sister demanding for N40,000 as a requirement before she will be given the job.
That ridiculous demand was what set my alarm bells on and I kept trying to convince my mom that this kind of job is not right but my mom never being able to read or write and with no knowledge about issues like this, disregarded everything I raised.
I kept pestering my sister to at least show me her proof that it's not an gnld company but she's insisting she's a staff and not a distributor.
That its an NGO that's into networking.

She on a visit for the weekend and she brought my mom some of their "made in Philippines" products ( tea, supplements)
Are you sure your sister is a graduate like this?

Family › Re: I'm Experiencing Emotional Blackmail From My Family! by duduade(m): 9:24pm On May 21, 2018
Ezkid:
Hello house, though some people have accused me of being an ungrateful child by calling out my mother's unbecoming attitude, I wish to state categorically that I do not belong in the group of people that can be tagged as such. But the burdens that rested on my shoulders is very much for a young guy like me and it has taken its toll on my mental and physical health.

I'm a guy that work 6 to 7 hours everyday and I make little amount I can consider enough to sustain the life someone like me should be living as a young simple guy, but because I've made a terrible mistake of relocating from where I was living alone to live with my family, now it has become obvious that my family have considered me as their sole savior and the first button to press whenever they're in need, they've lost total faith in my father and theyve stop disturbing him like before.

Like I told u guys before, Mum is no longer working since she became born again and Dad is out of town, he only come around whenever he got the alerts, but before my relocation he used to send some tokens even before the end of the month, now it seems to me my Dad have capitalized on the fact that I'm working, and I should be responsible for the whole family's upkeep until his arrival
Jeez! Since I got to this house I've not being able to save a penny, my expenses is twice as much as my earnings. Whenever I go to work, I'll come back to meet my mom waiting for me at the balcony with a story of how she's been praying for someone to buy her favorite dish for her since morning, the funniest thing is no one has ever asked me for one naira since I got there but there's a way they'll start talking about food, money and other things that ll make me dip my hand in my pocket and hand over what I have, also there's these old look on everyone's face whenever they need something from me which will make me to give them what they want without being asked.

I've practically become a slave to them, always waiting for me to come before they'll start talking about what to cook and eat, right now I'm at the edge, I just want out immediately! All my earnings are being used on food for the whole family, every time I give them money I always refuse to eat out of what they cook thinking they'll get the message but its always the same, I always pity my younger ones cos they've got a real battle ahead of the.

Pls house should I leave or remain with them for the time being? Right now I'm thinking of running away from them.
Abeg relocate...

They are sucking your blood
