Good show by Theo today even though Nasri is still my MOM for the game but this was the best way for Theo to answer his critics including myself. What a game though by Prince Nas today, He revelled in that central role.

Aaron Ramsey's Statement
Official statement from Aaron Ramsey

On Friday night, Aaron Ramsey released the following statement:

“I remember what happened clearly and after the tackle went in I saw that my leg was broken and hanging at an angle. I have seen images of the aftermath of the collision again but I don’t want to dwell too much on the challenge as I can’t change what has happened.

“It is difficult for me to take everything in at the moment. I thought I had been progressing well this season, so of course this is a real setback. It is very hard to take but I am young and have time on my side. I had an operation last weekend and while it will take time for my leg to heal, I am determined and focussed on overcoming this injury and hope to be back fitter and stronger than before.

“I have been overwhelmed by the terrific support I have received from so many people including fans from many different football clubs. In particular, I would like to thank the medical team here at Arsenal for their efforts as well as the staff at both hospitals. Glenn Whelan was especially kind and I really appreciated his immediate assistance on the pitch as well as the medical support from Stoke City. I also want to say thanks to Arsenal for helping my family this week.

“Last but certainly not least I have been blown away by the fantastic messages of support from the Arsenal fans.  I am proud to be an Arsenal player and your support has been incredibly touching. Finally, I want to wish my teammates all the best for the remainder of the season. I know that we are capable of winning a trophy and I will be backing them all the way.”
E se gan, a dupe o. Glenn Whelan deserves a lot of praise for his immediate response, even our own players drew away for an instant in shock from the extent of the injury but he kept his head and was first to Aaron's side.
Our boy will be back better and stronger.

Let him single handedly destroy Porto/Burnley & Hull and i will start rooting for him.
You are very right, it is within his power to turn it around. Put his head down, forget about the England setup and work his socks off under Arsene's guidance as he himself can now see how fickle they are, imagine all those agbayas who didn't win anything for England when they were playing being so harsh on the poor boy.
Arsene has surprised us so many times by believing in players who have been written off, lets all hope he pulls another surprise here.

Any news on Merida any1 checked our Injury News dude is missing.
He played in the U21s for spain and inspired a goal that led to their victory, its quite possible Arsene has a gentleman's agreement with the lad to let him go at the end of the season as he isn't showing too much of an effort to keep him, besides if he keeps him, he won't get much playing time with the likes of Rozza and Nasri even though Ramsey's injury does changes things in the interim as that is the person he has to upstage and I'll take Rambo ahead of Merida anyday for so many reasons.

It is a pity that we have to lose some of these lads we've invested so much into but it shows how far our academy has come that clubs are now sniffing about players on the fringes of our first team. Bordeaux were also sniffing about Sunu but I hear he's signed a new contract and already has a possible season long loan deal on the table for next season if he does well at Derby.

The final word on Theo from Arsene himself:
“I believe he has not only a football brain but he has a brain,” said the Frenchman. “That means he will continue to develop at a very quick pace. Don't worry for him.

“I believe for a while maybe people expected too much of Theo and now they are too hard with him.

“I believe Theo will be a great football player, he is very young, he will be 21 this year, and he will have a great future. I believe in him because he has a fantastic attitude, he's an intelligent boy and he is highly motivated. These players always improve.”
Now go on from strength to strength son, with the entire gooner army behind you and make Chris Waddle and all those other waddlers like our resident Nazi eat their words when you help England win the world cup.

@ Jalether

Just shut up dia, where in Dudu's post did he say what you mentioned.Nobody is saying Theo has always been a Diego Maradona, but at least.prior to the injuries and the surgeries,he could still outrun opposing players and cross the ball decently enough, both of which things he presently has forgotten how to do since he came back from injury

I don't see Arsene selling him in the nearest future,he should remain a fringe player pending when he can at least run and cross balls again;that for me will be just fine
Thanks for saving me from this man who is tearing leather all over the place, TBH I didn't see Theo much while he was in Southampton but his cameos were impressive in his initial first team appearances as debosky continues to point out and the reviews were superlative at the least so he couldn't have been this bad where he basically runs into the defending full back 3 times out of 4 in his bid to find the quickest route to goal without obstructions.

I really hope he gets over this confusion very soon, if he can settle down enough to learn that winger role, he will only become an even better striker with the variation it will bring to his movement and improvement in his ability to go past players which is the reason why Wenger plays him there now anyway.

Ibime:
Lets be honest, there are basic things even an amateur footballer can do that Theo cant do. He has no football intelligence. Relying solely on speed all his life, he has never had a chance to develop some basic game intelligence. Infact, some of the things I have learnt from common monkey post would help TW go a long way toward becoming a better player!  tongue
This is where our opinions differ Ibime (I'm hoping yu're not just poking fun at him), I dare say Arsene would never have bought Theo if he was this bad and I doubt he would have had that much hype at the time. It must be the double surgery on the arms, I tell you something has gone wrong somewhere with that boy, he seems to have actually retrogressed and even with all of Arsene's support he is not looking confident on the pitch at all.

The problem is when u give Walcott a simple pass if he can't use his pace then his brain goes blank, there's a huge/massive probability that he will lose possession,He cant even dribble nor cross.
Walcott is an enigma, I wonder what happened with the boy but inuries are bitchy, I really hope Ramsey comes back the same. The good news is that the injury is not career threatning according to Arsene making it most likely he didn't suffer soft tissue damage and all we have to deal with are the bone breaks. He might not even need screws and all that stuff in it.

Also, Arshavin and Denilson are likely back but Diaby might still miss out against Burnley only problem is that Big Sol might not make it with a groin injury he has and Gallas isnt back yet but I don't really want to develop HBP with Silvestre playing at the back again.

With both Diaby and Song out, that means we likely play Eastmond but the young lad did do well at Bolton and if he keeps things simple as he usually does then he'll be fine as Burnley are not all that (even though they now have Paterson and Alexander back from injury). We will be quite potent upfront and we get to see an Arshavin/Bendtner combo for the first time and Arshavin should be fresh.
My team for this would be:

         Almunia

Sagna    TV5   Sol   Clichy

Cesc  Denilson   Rosicky/Nasri

Eboue    Bendtner   Arshavin

To brighten things up a bit, news is that Manure might have bought a dud in Smalling, heard he had an howler yesterday. A lot of people are thanking God we didn't buy him already.  grin
They also reported Wilshere doing well despite Pierce playing a negative formation in the U21 encounter against Greece yesterday. Seems Wilshere and Cleverly of Manure are the 2 major creative MF players coming through the U21s but Cleverly is a clear 2 years+ older meaning that Wilshere can still play at this level for the next 2 competitions though I bet he would become a full international before clocking 21.

I hear you, I will always get behind our player any day sha but V3 abeg stop comparing Owen and Beckham to Theo, they may not have justified the british hype but those guys have proven their mettle at different levels Theo can only dream of at present. Are you forgetting Beckham in 99, 2002 and at Madrid or Owen in 98, his Ballon D'or win or his guaranteed 20+ goals per season at Anfield?

Time is definitely not running out on his career, not at all but this is his time to establish himself as an English international and if he misses this boat, that might be it for him in the English setup.

Melo is still a solid player, he is only in a squad going through a transition and needs to get rid of some has-been players. His performances for Brazil still confirm his ability.

Wilshere, Sunu, Lansbury and all those muchachos you listed would take at least two seasons to be as relevant as Theo was two seasons ago don't get it twisted at all shining against U-17's is different from playing week in week out against the best in England & Europe! I have seen Wilshere against Porto in the UCL and against West Ham in the F.A cup that kid is not as ready as you want to believe.
I think pundits and fans alike are over reacting to one bad season! only in England would you hear all this hue and cry over a player who is not yet 21. It is this kind of hype that has sent players like Owen, Woodgate to their early footie graves and seen em go out in a blaze of glory just after puberty. This dude has suffered two major shoulder injuries and a knee injury before 21 then he's back and y'all expect him to be Maradona sorry oh it doesn't work that way! Walcott on his day would bring more to the table than a Chamakh, Bendtner, Vela, Eduardo e.t.c when it comes to counters he is still our only legit option
I'm not for a second saying we should sell him right away, not at all I'm only saying that time is running out for him even more because Arsenal has so many young players looking to push on through. Wilshere might not be ready now as he hasn't even been given the opportunity to stake a claim as Theo had at his age (even Wenger admitted as much that the present crop of youngsters are not as lucky as those presently in the first team since those ahead of them are only a bit older) but the Wilshere I saw, has everything Theo doesn't have but lacks only the pace, and if Cesc can improve his physical attributes with age post 20, there is definitely more to come from jack who only recently clocked 18.
The clock is ticking for Theo as even the more ardent English supporters who always backed him at the expense of Eboue last season are smelling the coffee, he needs to turn it around quickly but I just wonder where it all went wrong, it must have something to do with those shoulder operations, The Theo I see now couldn't have been as bad as this when he got all that hype long ago.

Cesc, Rooney, Messi?? come on . . . at age 16, they were already way ahead of Walcott.
These are exceptional players . . .they amazed our generation, everyone knows Walcott is not going to be exceptional.
You can't say technical improvement stops around 21 . . . I dare say technical improvement only begins then for most players at that age.

For wingers and forwards generally, 21 is the time most of them depend on their speed for everything
. . . when they start to lose this, they begin to improve in the technical aspects of the game.
We cannot tell how good a forward is till he's 25.
There isn't much technical improvement left for Theo, he can only improve tactically as a winger to know how to better use his pace (just like Young), Theo's career is still ahead of him but he is obviously not as good as we thought he was when he was younger, I also don't see anything in the present (apart from that exceptional pace which is his only saving grace at present) that suggests he will succeed as a player at Arsenal (believe me, the competition is tough for our young players), the difference between Theo and most of our young players is that when Theo sucks, he sucks badly and IMO actually distrupts the team as a whole.
Carlos Vela has also been underachieving but he doesn't suck as badly as Theo, at the least you would trust Vela to not give the ball away stupidly and you can say that for most of our other players but not for Theo.

@folly.
I could remember back in his Southampton days, he played as a CF/SS. . where he excelled through the ranks before breaking into the first team. Fine, he could be so clueless but who ain't?
To be honest, this is one of the things that puzzle me about Theo, there are 2 people close to me who are usually right about players (my younger brother and a good fried of mine)and both of them staunchly supported Arsene buying Theo at that time and Arsene's judgement is mostly right too. Maybe injuries haven't helped and maybe the fact that he played as a striker in the U21s while being developed as a winger in Arsenal has not helped him since all they would do within the English setup is to leave him upfront to run around like an headless chicken while making noise about him playing centrally (though this doesn't disguise the obvious fact that the basic tools were always lacking).

With passing time, his position in the Arsenal squad becomes less tenable as he can't get a striking place with the likes of RVP/Bendtner/Eduardo/Chamack? ahead of him and very soon the likes of Lansbury/Wilshere/Vela/Sunu/ will be pushing to become starters in MF and wide positions and I dare say those guys are more versatile than he is at the least and look more composed on the ball with less hype and expectation on them also.

v3:
Nani who ripped apart our defense and put up a good show is STILL totally f**kd up on the flanks(apart from his dribbles), his crosses fail him many-a-time hence Valencia (who has a better crossing/shooting ability). In TW's case, we have a young man, who succumbed to the media hype and all the buzz (one reason why AW is shielding young Jack Wilshere) that followed his transfer from Southampton way too early in his career & coupled with the injuries he's had in the past, one could easily write him off.
Nani is still a maverick player with whom you really can't be certain what you'll get but I daresay he is still a more technically accomplished player than Theo is, Nani to me is more of an overconfident showoff who needs to get serious while Theo just seems so unsure of himself when his pace isnt working.
Hype or not, Jack Wilshere can never be in the same boat as Theo is now because he has more than the basic ability needed to be an exceptional player, I have never seen him look out of place either in the midst of his peers or those much older than him. There is a big difference between an underachieving player and one who atimes looks clueless.

A football player is made by 21? shocked  lipsrsealed
maybe that didn't come out right, in terms of development I meant, not achievement. As in the basic attributes of the player are already strongly defined at this period and the player is already close to a ceiling in terms of technical improvement (at 21, in fact long before that we all knew CR7 and Messi could easily beat defenders, we knew Rooney was strong and a workaholic with good technical ability, we knew Cesc was already at pass master at 18).
It is a bit of a pity that all we can still associate with Theo right now is pace and a little bit of movement which is wasted on the wings, no touch, composure, vision, skills and most other thing that makes a football player.
I'm almost resigned to it now, Theo might never be better than Ashley Young the way things are going. Ashley Young knows exactly what he can do and doesn't do too much so he usually makes better decision than Theo, maybe its about time we understood Theo's limitations and stop trying to make him do too much but anyway Arsene knows.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (In Arsenal We Trust) by duduspace(m): 2:03pm On Mar 04, 2010
Some experts are just seeing what most of us identified a long time ago about Theo, to be honest I think even Arsene will have to start thinking of managing this situation and give poor Theo a soft landing, he just doesn't seem to fit into our pattern and it is now showing at the international level. I still think the lad is confused, if he can get his head straight and forget about this playing central thing to focus on learning how to play on the wings, we will have some player cos no matter what one says that searing pace is an asset no other player can learn.
Theo should forget about striking and possibly even scoring for now, learn how to utilize his pace to spread play on the wings. I still believe he can turn this around but time is fast running out. A football player is usually made by 21 or there abouts.
Waddle unimpressed with Walcott

Former England winger Chris Waddle believes Theo Walcott "doesn't understand the game" and should not be in the international reckoning.

Theo Walcott has suffered with injuries this season

Walcott made a bright start in England's 3-1 win over Egypt on Wednesday, bursting past defenders to create a simple chance for Frank Lampard, but he struggled in the aftermath and was eventually substituted early in the second half after repeatedly running into trouble.

It has been a difficult season for Walcott and, a fortnight before his 21st birthday, many feel he has yet to show any real development since leaving Southampton for Arsenal in 2006 and Waddle, who won 62 caps for his country, has now suggested there is little hope he will fulfil expectations.

"People keep saying he's young but Wayne Rooney understood the game at 16, 17," Waddle said. "I've never seen any difference in Theo Walcott since he was at Southampton and broke into the team at a very young age.

"I've never seen him develop. He just doesn't understand the game for me - where to be running, when to run inside a full-back, (when to) just play a one-two."

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, Waddle said: "It's all off the cuff. The ball comes to him and if he gets a good first touch he might be on his way if he shows pace, but he has a plan in his mind before the ball comes to him.

"He's not looking as if to think, 'This is where I want to be, this is where I want to go, and this is what I'm going to do'. It just seems to be all off the cuff.

"People keep saying to me, 'Oh he's young and he'll learn'. I keep thinking, 'Fabregas has learnt and he's young, Rooney has learnt, they all read the game so well'.

"I just don't think he's got a football brain and he's going to have problems. Eventually he could play up front, but would he know where to run? Let's be honest, good defenders would catch him offside every time.

"I just don't know whether he studies the game, learns the game, or what. He's at a great club where they play fantastic football week-in, week-out, and I'm just surprised he's never developed his game."

Waddle admits that he was surprised to see Walcott in the squad ahead of in-form Manchester City winger Adam Johnson and does not feel the hat-trick he scored against Croatia warrants his continued inclusion.

"I'm surprised Walcott was in the squad," Waddle said. "He doesn't play a lot of football, he hasn't done anything. He hasn't done anything for a long time and I think Croatia was a one-off.

"I just think he's got a lot to learn. I've been more impressed by Adam Johnson at Manchester City than Theo Walcott."

Former England boss Graham Taylor agreed with Waddle. "I'm not going to be in any disagreement at all," he said. "I haven't seen the improvement of Theo Walcott in terms of what Chris is saying of reading the game. I just haven't seen it. I just see a problem there."
Seem you just want to argue to hear the sound of your voice. Who said having sugar daddies is the ONLY way up.
the fact is the sugar daddies in the English game have helped push clubs like Man Citeh, Liverpool and Chelski up the ladder a position they never held  before.
Sugar daddies have not helped liverpool one bit, how many big name players exactly have Liverpool bought apart from Fernando Torres? the only clubs you can say have had an artificial inflation of their profile through massive injection of funding to buy big name players from their benefactors are Chelsea and Man City.

dayokanu:
Bayern has always been in the top 7 richest clubs since the mid nineties before the idea of a stadium was concieved. and I guess new stadiums were built for Bremen, Schalke, Dortmund and Hamburg too. right? I have seen dumb arguments before and this takes pole position.
Of all those clubs you mention, only Bremen has possibly not benefited from Government aid in terms of support from hosting the world cup, The Schalke stadium also hosted the 2006 world cup while the Dortmund stadium was upgraded for the 2006 world cup. The Hamburg stadium has actually benefitted from government funding twice having also hosted the world cup in 1974.

dayokanu:
The fact is the Bundesliga with all the clubs owned majorly by Germans and no Oil sheik or Russian/American billionaire allowed ownership still has a quarter on the top 20 rich list. Is a major feat.
Out of EPL 7 remove the chelsea, Liverpool, Man City who have rich financiers and they wont be top in Europe.
This is as dumb as it comes
It is not dumb at all if you can get your head round it, injection of money by a benefactor does not automatically translate to increased turnover and that is the lazy assumption you have made which is totally untrue. It is no feat at all that the bumblesliga clubs are behind their PL counterparts in terms of turnover, they should be ashamed of themselves for not being able to leverage their competitive advantages in government aid and larger population to increase their turnovers. Even Newcastle in the championship with no sugar daddy and no big name players made it on the list for crying out loud.

The initial owners were Bayern and 1860 but 1860 was bought out and Bayern owns it 100%

Governmant dash people stadium? Only in GAYYnerland of stupidity do you find such postulations
Dayo stop talking like a mumu, is it possible for the Allianz stadium to cost 22m euro if as you are claiming 50% of it was bought for 11m euro? I have given you links from wikipedia showing the massive government support Bayern received from the German government to build the stadium in time for the 2006 world cup. A stadium the german people had to hold something akin to a referendum for before it was built is what you are now claiming was built with no government support? If the nazis have brain washed you, you better go back home for some head washing at your local dibia, I have some area peeps back home who can get you an appointment with a potent one.

Cost
The cost of the construction itself ran to €286 million but financing costs raised that figure to a total of €340 million. In addition, the city and State incurred approximately €210 million for area development and infrastructure improvements.

Is this not even funny to you?

How would the club sell merchandise if the sugar daddies didnt make money available to buy the top players whose merchandise are in demand?

How did Man City make it up that list? I suspect revenue from Tevez and co Merchandise or ticket sales. Would ticket sales have gone up if the stars were not bought in the first place?

Why was Man City not in top 20 before sugar daddy and immediately after sugar daddy they jumped into it.

Same with Chelsea, Can you show us the top 20 rich list pre -Abramovich and lets see how Chelsea was doing.

How would they have made revenue without the purchases of Drogba, Ballack, Essien, Cech, Carvalho and Ashley Cole. without Sugar daddys contribution.

How did clubs like Man Citeh, Chelsea, Liverpool and co start selling merchandise and making revenues like they never did before pre-sugar daddy.

The answer shouldnt be too difficult to figure out.
I don't need to show anything, Arsenal doesn't have a sugar daddy and they are ahead of Chelsea and City on the list (neither does Spurs or Newcastle have sugardaddies in the sense of purchasing big name players) meaning that having sugar daddies is not the only way to achieve high turnovers, in fact having sugar daddies can work against you when they are not properly managed. They don't have sugar daddies in spain but they've bought all the buyables so you don't need sugardaddies to splash the cash as Real Madrid has shown. What you have left out is how the Munchies have leveraged the holding of a World cup in Germany and government support to get a new stadium cheaply. It is left to each club to leverage whatever competitive advantages it has to boost its turnover.
The fact still remains that there is nothing to beat your chest about here, the PL has outperformed your bumblesliga once again, get over it and stop muddling up issues.

Wenger has established strong control in his time at Arsenal

Even though it will shortly be five years since the Gunners last won a trophy - the FA Cup - the Arsenal board remains fully committed to Wenger's philosophy.

The day after the club posted superb financial results with half-yearly profits of £35.2 million, Gazidis was full of praise for the French coach and his footballing ideals.

Wenger's contract at the Emirates Stadium expires next summer but there is no concern in the corridors of power, with the club more concerned with tying their best players, such as Gael Clichy, Robin Van Persie and Eduardo, to new deals. Since the end of last season a total of 17 players have penned extended agreements.

Gazidis said: "It's very low key and it will get done at the right time."

With the increasing profits, largely due to the vast revenue streams from their new ground, the Gunners are well placed for a new era of dominance as some of their closest rivals, such as Manchester United and Liverpool, are saddled with debt.

"I think it is very difficult to encapsulate in any succinct way what Arsene Wenger has done for this club," Gazidis told the Daily Telegraph. "His discipline and his vision are why we are in a new stadium and why we are redefining the way the game can be played. He has created a young squad that has a tremendous future without having the resources that some other teams have.

"Those achievements are down to Arsene's sense of responsibility not to himself but to the club. When he interviewed for the job, Danny Fiszman [an Arsenal director] asked him what are your ambitions for the club? Arsene said: 'That when I leave, it will be in a better state than when I arrived'.

"I think Arsene has accomplished that but I also think his legacy is not written yet. There's no diminishment in his passion, competitive edge or ambition. Arsene's work is not finished.

"We have probably the best club stadium in the world and the youngest squad in the entire Premier League which is competing to win the league this year - that would be unprecedented for a team this age.

"We are not in competition with Real Madrid or Manchester City to spend £80 million on a player. That is not sustainable for any club and certainly not for us. There is no such thing as a free lunch and I think that people who think that there is are naïve or thinking in a very short-term way.

"I think all clubs are trying to get towards a self-sustainable model. We are in the fortunate position of already being there."

However, Gazidis is acutely aware that the club's idealistic approach must yield trophies.

"It is something we are very aware of," he added. "The ultimate aspiration is not to produce a wonderful business model, the reason we adhere to those principles is so that we can preserve the values of the club and create the foundation on which we can deliver success on the pitch."
Any arsenal fan who still thinks Arsene is sitting on some money and just refusing to spend after this statement from Gazidis is simply unwilling to face up to the truth.

Walcott has been called up for England. Hmmmm. Im not so sure on that one, but as far as im concerened he needs as many matches as can get. I just hope he at least puts the world cup in reserve of his mind and just focus on his game, the pressure doesnt seem to be doing him any good. That said he seems to be improving sha.
He should be fine as long as he doesn't allow them fill his head with that central role bull the English establishment seem to be fixated with as exemplified by Dion Dublin's recent rant. Chamack's acquisition makes his dream of playing central for Arsenal even more distant.
If by 22/23 he still hasn't become consistent on the wings then we can consider taking him central or selling him on. We have to put Arsenal first before England where they seem to take delight in breaking our player's legs.

That rich list shows 5 Bundesliga teams in top 20 despite that we dont have rich sugar daddies in Germany and foreign ownership are completely outlawed

Of the EPL reps, Manure, Liverpool, Chelski and Man City are outrighly owned by foreigners
If Usmanov is succesful that makes it more.

Now tell me the best managed league in Europe
Stop fuzzing up issues DK, that list is based on turnover so has nothing to do with sugardaddies or mummies as the case may be. It is basically about what the club has sold during the season. This has nothing to do with ownership or debt or anything of the sort, doesn't even involve transfer fees and all. With Germany's population compared to the UK, they should have done much better than the English clubs. There is nothing to beat your chest about here, in fact you should rather be ashamed of the Bundesliga's performance.

I don't think your predictions are realistic.
All things being equal, Arsenal doesn't just go from a draw to three straight wins . . . come on.
will you now reconsider this statement? we have surpassed it and gone from the Chelsea defeat to 3 straight wins.

@mystikal

No one does hypocrisy like the English, how many of these idiots came out to back Gallas after the tackle on Davis? despite the fact that Gallas in over 10 years of his career has not broken anyone's leg but we have a lad of 22 who has broken 2 people's legs already and according to the image makers "is not that type of player", the injustice of it all makes my skin crawl.

As controversial as Sauron is, I did find his posts interesting but he did cross a line in that last post, no matter what he was trying to say it came out all wrong. I really wish he would rephrase that statement, I can't bring myself to believe he meant what he wrote.

Here is the official statement on the Arsenal site of Aaron's injury, I know an entire nation is praying for his quick recovery.
On Sunday, Arsenal Football Club released the following statement:

“During yesterday’s match against Stoke City, Aaron Ramsey sustained fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg. Yesterday evening he underwent surgery.

"The operation successfully reduced the fractures and whilst it is too soon to state an exact timescale for recovery, Aaron will certainly miss the remainder of this season. Our thoughts are with Aaron at this time and everyone at the Club wishes him all the best in making as speedy a return to action as possible.”
Just as I thought, it is a double fracture of both the tibia and fibula, Djibril Cisse came back from a similar injury and I do believe Aaron will be back.
Y'all make it sound as if it's only Arsenal that play all these teams from the lower rung.
United, Chelsea and Liverpool play them as well. It's Football. . . . .Get on with it.
MOTD just cleared the incident now. Shawcross went genuinely for the ball. . . .no studs up!!!

I am glad Capello invited him to join the 3 Lions team tonight. Shawcross needed that boost.
He isn't a dirty player. He's never copped a red card before.
Gallas' tackle on Davis was worse.
You are right that it doesn't look as bad as it did initially and he didn't go studs up but he didn't need to make that tackle particulary when Ramsey had already kicked the ball. He went over the ball and hit the leg, it could be a mistake but it was definitely avoidable. Ramsey went for the ball but he went for the leg and hit it with enough force to break it. His remorse was belated in my opinion, that tackle was very avoidable if he was concerned for the welfare of the other player.

Gallas tackle could have been avoidable too and maybe he deserved a red card  but at least he didn't break anyone's leg, and I do recall Owen Coyle complaining about it and Arsene apologising. I agree no manager will come out to condemn his player as Arsene himself has pointed out but 3 such horrible tackles on Arsenal players by opponents in the league is definitely no longer looking like a coincidence and even you with your anti-arsenal bias shld be able to see that.

I think the right punishment would be for the player who injures another player in a reckless challenge to be banned for as long as the other player is out, then players would be more cautious in making such tackles, seeing less of what we saw today can only be good for football generally in my opinion.
