Abeg, when people talk about midfielders they should stop talking about those hulking auxilliary strikers like Lampard and Gerrard, all they can do is to flex muscle all over the pitch and make late runs into the box to score some goals. Gerrard is the only one who adds a bit of technicality to his game and he still needed a deep lying playmaker like Xabi Alonso to achieve anything. Why exactly do people think they don't work well in the 3 lions?
The British establishment will have a lot to thank Arsenal for when the likes of Wilshere and Ramsey blossom (if they don't end their careers before then by breaking their legs all in the name of their silly English physical game), only problem is that the whole FA technical department might need to be overhauled to even use them properly as Wilshere's International youth performances have shown.

This thread is silly in my opinion, a great majority of those abroad have family back home (at least I can speak for myself and a lot of my friends here in the UK) there is none of those I know who doesn't dream of going back home someday so why should anyone associate war mongering with Nigerians in the diaspora if such a person isn't out of his senses?
All we ask for is improvement in the quality of life back home and I'm sure there are a great many people living in Nigeria who want the same. Individuals may differ in how they believe this can be achieved but only a mumu like the OP can automatically equate an healthy interest in the development of your place of birth to war mongering for selfish purposes.
It is people like the OP who obsfucate issues and create unnecessary divisions which prevent us from moving forward as a people. A Nigerian in the diaspora is still a Nigerian at heart, I wonder why some blockheads simply can't understand something so simple, to paraphrase Arsene Wenger, "It is either they are mentally deficient or just plain malicious".

I didn't watch the game, but why are people slating Denilson? the only goal scored against us came from a penalty and he had a major part to play in our winning goal so why are people still marking the guy down like this? We all know he is not a first choice MF at present but he's come in to do a job and he's done a good one by the result we had.

FYI we have had the best performance against the smaller teams amongs the top 4 this season. The last team out of the top 6 to beat us was Sunderland (and by then, they were actually in the top 6 before injuries put them in their rightful place).

Don't mean to blow our trumpet too much but playing against Arsenal is different from playing against any club in the PL, no one moves the ball about and create chances in myriad of ways the way we do, Manure and Chelsea mostly have their tried and tested routes but smaller teams atimes can stifle them when they get their tactics right.
We usually create the chances but atimes are not matured enough to put them away mostly when the team balance isn't right, we don't usually do scrappy but the boys seem to be maturing enof to play in that ball park.

Forget the hat-trick, Bendtner needs to work on his 1st touch & passes, his football I.Q is way too low for a striker (ball-handling,skill & positioning) but i thank God he saved the goals for Porto (like AA23 said) & delivered.The introduction of Eboue and Walcott did bring a different dimension to the game (I hope AW doesn't sell Eboue because the dude is really feeling himself in the red & white).

Bendy definitely has much room for improvement, but like Arsene said, even when he had all those misses against Burnley his overall game was quite good, he hustled for the team like mad (something Adebayor forgot to do in his final season for whatever reason). He definitely isn't as technically gifted as Ibrahimovic and you might never really get much of wow moments from him but he seems to be growing into that target man role (you can see the difference between him playing it and a small man like Eduardo or Arshavin).
If he gets a consistent run in that role, he definitely can get Adebayor like figures (over 20 goals per season) from there. Having only clocked 22 in January also means he still has ample room for improvement.
With Chamack coming in if we don't win something this season we definitely will next season cos we would have 3 front men who can do the business that we could rotate and also get some of them cup appearances.

With what I see from Nasri in the center, Arsene should have no fears whatsoever playing him central anytime Cesc isn't available, infact I think he should actually find time to play him there occasionally and rest Cesc periodically. He looked a whole different player there and actually brought a lot of energy and a bit more pace and urgency into it (though I must say he played it at such a high tempo he was prolly wiped out b4 being subbed).
Cesc is definitely the numero uno, but I'd like to see a bit more of Nasri in that role, it was a thing of beauty to see tonite and quite effective too.

Playing them both might be akin to football suicide (particularly in the PL), we still need Diaby's presence and hustle along with Song who will never be content with just staying behind (infact the only person who stayed behind permanently today was Egbon Sol and if you replace him with Gallas then yu have another CB charging forward at any opportunity).
Diaby for me is the most improved player this season, he has gelled so much into that 2nd CM role and has become the perfect foil for Song in his tactical discipline (I actually believe he is now disciplined enough to even play Song's role when required), his decision making is now so spot on (dribbled when necessary, dropped back to cover Song on multiple occasions, kept possesion well) I wonder where his head has been these past seasons (is this what having game time and less injury disruptions does to players? there is definitely hope yet for Theo).
Diaby fits well into that 3 man MF combo and even though you can try the Cesc/Nasri combo for the odd game, it wouldn't work well in the league and becomes worse with Denilson holding.

My oh my, doesnt Nasri love that central role, a pity Cesc has it locked down. I think Arsene can find some games to play him there as I would love to see more of him in that role. Good game all round from the lads

I have given Theo his due credits, he was exceptional today and I really hope he takes off from thereon and make all those agbayas eat their words but Nasri was my MOM, he was lively from the start and was so effective centrally as to make Cesc's absence almost of no consequence.

Nicky seems to have some sort of hoodoo against Burnley, he even tried today as last season's Carling cup tie was worse off but the boy has enough confidence to overcome this hiccup. I'm just happy he didn't cost us the win today.
