VO: how old are you and when did you graduate?

ME: I told her

VO: why do you want to go graduate school now after years of graduating from school.

ME: I explained by telling her about my teaching experiences and connecting them to my ambition of taking up full time academic position in university.

VO: how did you get this funding?

ME: I came across a work by professor… which I found interesting me and sent her an email. She subsequently scheduled a zoom session with me. I was asked to apply after the interview, and I applied by submitting the required items.

VO: how did you come across her work? Did search about it or through other means. And I asked yes I searched for it.

VO: what question were you asked in the interview.

ME: she asked me questions concerning my research interests.

VO: what is your research interest.

ME: I told her.

VO: can you tell me about the project you’ll be working on with your PI

ME: I explained as much as I can, but I should have done better.

VO: nodded and did a long typing ( very fast).

VO: are you married ?

ME: no but in the process of completing the marriage rites of my fiancée

VO: where does she live? I answered PHC CITY

VO: nodded and asked “ hope you’ll complete it before you travel” and I answered yes.

VO: handed me the white paper and asked I should pick up my visa up in the next 6 business days.

ME: bows out and praised my God.

PS: I felt really bad that when I was unable to schedule interview I came here to seek solution but to nobody answered to my many questions. But the people here were quick to attack me when I made a post of how to retrieve my passport (visa) from Dhl .

Guys, it's been since October 20th that I submitted my student visa application. They are yet to issue my visa o. The only the that changed was "feel" changing to "sit".
It's been under review since a month now.

I don't really think it's can affect your application although it's part of requirements but you are good with other documents,you should be granted.

Anyone you think can help is only trying to eat from you since they have realised you are desperate.

What do they also do? They keep checking, hustling for date on the portal, just as the rest of the people.

Also, I think there's something hidden if your appointment is not directly from the embassy.

Start dashing agents your hard-earned money.

Better is relative. However, I would assume you mean "better" in term of scholarship opportunity, standard of living and job opportunity.

1. Scholarship opportunity: The US. There is even no competition. Even Australians and Canadians go over to the US because of their many scholarship opportunities.

2. Standard of living: Australia and Canada. You cannot regret going to either of the two. They are far far better than the US in this regard. Why? Simple.

In Australia and Canada, you can at least be about 80% sure that you'll live long if you're not attacked by a terrible disease or jammed by a vehicle. In the US, it is opposite. At every junction, death is staring at you. Even a co-buyer at a mall can shoot you dead. It's that terrible. Expect death at any point in time no matter how safe the environment can be. Those gentle faces strolling on the streets? Beware of them. They have guns in their bags.

3. Job opportunity: The US. No argument at ALL. There, you have any kind of job you are looking for, of course with a very huge pay.

So, yes, here is my simple answer. Choose your demon accordingly.

Minimum of 3 weeks. But it depends on the embassy, they can grant visa in a week or two. However, they can also make it longer.

Nobody can get you a closer date here. I repeat, nobody. Don't come back here to start writing an episode of how someone dupes you.

Get to work to get yourself a date. Get added to WhatsApp groups created for this purpose. Keep checking. Also, you can apply for expedient date if your program is very close.

That---and pray you adhere---is the only way to get a closer date.
