After my PhD, I intend to return to Nigeria to take up a lecturing job at my alma mater. Me: he is a real estate investor, who manages my late grandfather's real estate properties in Lagos and Abeokuta. He was the one who sponsored my high school and college education and I lived with him all through my time in college.
VO: How is he going to pay?
Me: I have his bank statement with me as well as my late grandfathers will wherein he stated that proceeds from the real estate industry can be used for the educational programs of his children. At this time I wanted to pass the bank statement to her but she said no.
VO: what type of account does he have?
Me: savings
VO: Does he have a US account?
ME: NO. I will be the one to open the account when I get there and he will send the money into my account and then I will pay it to the school.
Me: Passes the financial statements to her again
VO: (She collects it and cross-check. The statement has a balance of about #30000000)
VO: Okay but I'm sorry you did not qualify at this time. You can reapply.

Take note of these:

1. Tell him that he has a savings of this (name the exact amount in the account).

2. Don't suggest to VO that you can show him your sponsor's statement, there is an element of losing your confidence when you do that. He can sense something. Man, my sponsor does this, and has this saving and so he's capable.

3. Stop telling stories. How your grand father wrote that his properties should be used to sponsor his children comes too unreal, unconvincing.

4. Go again and get your visa. Meanwhile, this time, go with solid one line answers and yes, a mountain of CONFIDENCE.

Not true. The statement has to be six months dated back. 6 months statement of account is what you need for I-20 and at the embassy. While the school does not scrutinize the documents, the embassy may have to if they found any red flag

You didn't get the question asked. She asked if she would have to send all the statements gathered in the last six months. What the school demands is, yes, a six month statement of account. But you won't have to send the entire six month statements. A page of the statements that shows the account name and the closing balance is what is what they require.

Not six. The school asked to send a statement of account thats is at least issued in the last six month. Not all the entire six month document. Just one of the statement that shows the name of the account owner and the available balance is enough.

Try to DO WES Evaluation!!! You may actually not need GRE like that but WES Evaluation is important in this case as regards your course of study.

I was just kidding with my previous reply. Try this school, southern Illinois university.
North Carolina Agric and technical university (be prepared to do WES to gain admission here)

Apply very early to these school in order to get the assistantship you desire.
