I wanted to submit an application for WIU yesterday being the 16th of August but I saw a message on their website that deadline for application for Spring 2022 was August 15th

Any application received after the 15th of August will be moved to Fall 2022

I’m so pained rn cry

Why is this school so wicked
Please who knows if I can appeal or write them for an extension of deadline ?
I don't about what you mean but the deadline has always been there since the time I know the school. So, it's not the school being wicked, it's you not doing a proper research. WIU is strict in their adherence to their deadlines like hell. However, you might try to apply if you have a compelling profile.

Some of these online loan apps are scammers. I once had an issue with halocredit. The app on playstore said the loans were given for a term of 90 to 180days for an interest of 24 to 36 % which i thought was cool.

I downloaded and applied for 40k and i was offered 27k which i accepted to my surprise i was credited 16k and told the 11k was for fees and interest. And i was to pay back 27k in 8days. Thats more than 70% for a duration of 8days.

Immediately i called and sent a mail to their customer care and told them this wasnt acceptable and this wasnt what was written on the front page of the app. Their response was there was another terms and conditions written within the app. So i told them they should take their money back cos terms and conditions are should be clear , easy to access and bold. You cant have 2 terms and conditions for one app.

However they didnt take the money back after several calls and mails. 8days later they started calling me to pay 27k. And i told them i wont but will only refund the 16k given to me. They started threatening. So i reported the case witg all evidence to CBN and efcc and the reply i got was they dont licence any online loan app. And i should deactivate all my cards. And this i have done. They sent msgs to my contacts and a forwarded a disclaimer to all my contacts that they are scammers.

Not every nigerian is a debtor but some of these loan apps are just scammers and thieves .
Please, I need your help on this. I'm a victim of this same loan app. They sent fraudulent messages to my contacts. How can I reach out to CBN and other commissions?

I don't think your information is wholly correct either. Now, it depends on alot of factors...

1. Your destination.
2. How many stops.
3. When you booked, booking like 40+ days ahead helps.
4. The period you book. August is especially crazy.

With this, flight to some destinations, 2 stops in August will be very expensive. Like my destination, Little Rock, it's at least 750k.

Cheers!!!
If you spend 750k to Arkansas, bro you have money o. There are other airlines available which can access the US and you won't spend so much. Safe journey.

You have an option of seeing their letters. While filling the application form, you've got two options: waive the receipt of the letters or accept copies when received by the graduate office. Most applicants, including me, are chose waive. That way, the school would see you as you trusting your recommenders.

Good afternoon, everyone.

Trust you're doing fine.

Is there anyone here who's applied to Western Illinois University? I have some questions to ask, I've asked the grad school but no reply yet.

My question borders on the LOR. The information on the website says:

"Three confidential letters of recommendation sent directly to the School of Graduate Studies by their recommenders."

Going by the above message in quotation marks, take note of the word "confidential", it means that my recommenders will write the letters and forward it to the mail of School Grad. Studies".

I would like to hear from anyone who has applied to the school.

Please reply as soon as you can. I'll appreciate your reply.

Thanks in anticipation.
Yeah, bro, copy the email address to your recommenders. The school needs your letters sent from them directly and with their institutionally-customized email addresses.

Why Fall 2022? Some schools don't admit for Spring. If your school does, then why not defer to Spring and resume in December-January?

Thanks for showing concern, bro.

I made it clear while making enquiries about TAships. And go ahead given.

In fact, I know of a friend already admitted with same GPA. Admitted to two schools with funding.

Bro, what's the standard of a CV expected of the applicant?
I cannot say there is a standard. But some pretty good work experience would make your application fly high, especially if the experiences align with your current graduate course of study.

You can list the schools your friend got accepted to that gave him funding. You might be helping someone.

Thank you for your response. How do I convert it to a 4.0 scale?

Though I've reached out to three schools. And go ahead given.

Thanks.
Did you tell them you had 3.27/5.0 or you told them you had 3.27?
Telling them you had 3.27, they would assume your 3.27 is of 4.0. So, before you mail schools, do an official conversion by WES to ascertain your GPA in 4.0 scale.

Good afternoon, distinguished friends. Hope you're doing fine.

I need a clarification. At the beginning of admission applications, does one need to submit a student's copy of transcripts or the one that will be sent directly from one's alma mater?

Looking forward to getting your response.

Thanks and have a nice day.
Bro, first have you converted your 3.27 GPA to a 4.0 scale? It's very important you know.

On transcript submission, most schools would accept your unofficial (student copy) transcript for admission. However, you'll will need the official copy upon resumption to the school.

Hi everyone, please I need your help, I received acceptance letter into Lincoln uni Mba program for fall 2021, and a soft copy of 1-20 form. I'm making arrangement for the sevis fee payment. I would like to know if I can still find an interview date. School resumes on August 18th and classes begin on August 23rd. Please what can I do?

Thanks.
Mail your school sharply to ask for a deferral. Obviously, you can't meet Fall resumption again. Do the mailing fast as some schools would not heed if it's getting too late, as they would have new applicants that may be more qualified for spring. So, they would think you've perhaps considered another school.

JavanElsevier41:
Oya o
Gurus in the house abeg help me analyse my transcript and make corrections Biko.

VO: Good morning

Me: Good morning and how are u

VO: Can I see your documents

Me: Here they are( passes my passport and i-20)

VO: Why are you going to the United States

Me: I have been admitted to New Jersey institute of technology located at 323 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Newark New Jersey for an Ms degree program in Environmental science with a concentration in environmental remediation and wastewater treatment using Microbial fuel cell

VO: How many schools did you apply to

Me: 6(mentioning them)

VO; Why did you choose NJIT

Me: I chose NJIT because of the structure of it's Environmental science program and how it fits my research interest. Prof Mengyan Li's research on environmental remediation and water treatment using the ABT(Advanced biological treatment) model which involved the use of algae, fungi and bacteria as well as the AOP(Advanced oxidation process) model was of interest to me as it aligned with my research interest in environmental remediation and wastewater treatment using Microbial fuel cells.
Also the environmental science program is structured to give students a deeper understanding of the fundamental sciences needed in solving environmental challenges. This in turn gives them the in-depth practical skill, needed in applying the knowledge of these fundamental sciences in probing into the causes of the damages that have been done to the environment, the extent of these damages and how these damages can be reversed.

VO: Why did you choose this course

Me: I chose this course because I want to have a deeper understanding of the environment. I want to be able to focus on analyzing and deducing problems associated with the environment and the effect of man-made activities on the environment. I want to be fully equipped with the adequate knowledge needed in finding solutions to the problems plaquing the Nigerian environmental system so as to be able to protect and preserve the environment.

VO: Why do you want to study in the United States

Me: The US environmental system has contributed significantly to the advancement of the Nigerian environmental system especially in the area of environmental remediation and waste management.
This is a system I would love to learn from as I will be fully equipped with the knowledge and practical skill needed in solving environmental challenges associated with the Nigerian environmental system so as to be able to make ground breaking achievements in the Nigerian environmental system.

VO: Tell me about your research

Me: I will be researching on environmental remediation and wastewater treatment using the microbial fuel cell. The microbial fuel cell is a recent technology I will be applying for wastewater treatment that involves the direct extraction of electrical energy from the micro organisms present in the wastewater. This will be done using an electron transfer mechanism which will help to capture the energy directly produced. I will be making use of a graphite rod which would act as an anode and a carbon cloth which would act as the cathode. I'm also going to be making use of a Nafion N115 which would act as a semipermeable membrane as well as a surge tank. The aim of the research is to effectively carry out wastewater treatment while generating electrical energy in the same process, which is a challenge in Nigeria. And also it has a relatively low cost of operation hence it would be very effective for use here in Nigeria.

VO: Tell me about your study plan

Me: The program has a duration of 2 years and Il will be expected to take a minimum of 30 credits with 5 core courses which includes a course in environmental analysis as well as a course in environmental microbiology and 3 elective courses which includes courses in environmental probleml solving and hazardous lwaste management. I will also be taking part in the environmental science seminar and then of course my thesis.

VO: What will this program do for you

Me: This program will give me an in-depth practical skill,as well as sharpen my research, writing and instrumentation skills, which will in turn place me in a very competitive position in Environmental science here in Nigeria, as I will be coming back to Nigeria to take up a full time lecturing job at the University of Benin here in Nigeria as an environmental scientist

VO: What course did you study

Me: I studied geology at the University of Benin and I graduated in 2016

VO: What have you been doing since then

Me: After my graduation in 2016, I took part in the compulsory one year national youth service where I worked as a physics teacher in government day secondary school in kwara State.
In 2019 I took up a job as a teacher in Jenas Montessori international School where I taught mathematics, physics and chemistry. As the only science teacher in the school, I taught all levels of the secondary arm from JS1-SS3. I was also Incharge of the school's science club. In 2020 I took up a job as a quarry manager with the Freedom Group of companies where I was Incharge of a quarry. My duty was to ensure safe activities at the quarry. This I achieved by ensuring that all miners adhered to all safety precautions at the quarry and I also ensured that the quality and quantity of products from the mines were not compromised.

VO: Since you are currently running a masters program here at UI, why do you want to run another masters degree program

Me: The United States environmental system has been a system I had always wanted to learn from because I have always wanted to make a ground breaking impact in the Nigerian environmental system but at the time I was not able to locate a supervisor in the United States, who shared similar research interest with me. And I didn't want to be redundant academically. I wanted to keep learning about the environment, hence my application for a masters degree program at the University of Ibadan.
But with my admission at NJIT and my connection with Prof Mengyan Li, this would be an opportunity to actualise my dream in making a huge impact in correcting the ills associated with environmental management in Nigeria especially in the area of wastewater treatment

VO: What are your plans after school

Me: After this program I will be coming back to Nigeria to take up a full-time lecturing job in environmental science at the University of Benin, where I obtained my undergraduate degree. As a young man who has so much passion for the academic profession and I desire to get to the peak of this profession, I will be publishing articles and journals that will probe into the causative reasons or causes of damages that have been done to the Nigerian environment in past and in recent years, the extent of these damages and how these damages can be effectively handled.
Hello, there.

Your answers are not detailed yet they are so long as though you are giving a speech. You don't need so much words. You don't need so much words. You don't need so much word. Two sentence at most, giving striking details that VO would not need to go on asking you questions and eat up his words, having your visa approved.
Really a lot to work on, but I must say you need to have your confidence masked to your voice, smelling all over your short, striking answers. When you talk too much, it means you are not sure of yourself. When you give short answers, it begs for a VIsa.

Best.
