EducationRe: Strike: We Will Explore Other Options If ASUU Remains Adamant - Ngige by dumodust(m): 2:24pm On Nov 14, 2020
Alexis11:
God bless you. Only few persons are knowledgeable like you to know that ASUU fight is only about that fraudulent IPPIS.
Who says it's entirely fraudulent? Can you compare it to the old system of sending bulk funds to the universities? We were there at the start of IPPIS yrs ago and usually has this starting data entry hiccups that are Ultimately rectified and then it runs smoothly for new entrants. It can also accommodate additions if negotiated high up and established. This ASUU and FG fully dallying is emboldening other associations to rebel. I am on IPPIS and I am completely satisfied, my pensions are remitted when due and I get my arrears, promotions and upgrades in a timely manner. The Fg is running the ship, you can't just bring the unsolicited UTAS and expect to ram it down your employer's throat. If you don't like the terms, pls resign.
ASUU's membership even increased recently because of IPPIS because the VCs where forced to fill their employment quota, money that they had been eating and diverting for yrs from understaffing. I understand no system is perfect but this IPPIS has done some good and also cut off corruption at the lower levels, at least let's fight the battle higher up.

If it was 500k a month then it would be acceptable but I think the amount is circa 7 million , a car change every 3 months and houses in both state of residence and Abuja. Compound that with the fact these people still have the first pick of government contracts and still have their tentacles in the corridors of power , then the pension is simply too much.
Then why not reduce it drastically? This complete removal looks purely politically motivated to me and reeks of hypocrisy on the part of Lagos. The issue has always been that the pension was too much, why abolish it? Why not just revert to something affordable for the state... Smh. We applaud nonsense till it gets to us, maybe our parents that are permanent secretaries shouldn't get pension too on retirement

Guys, I am a staff of FRSC and I can say that we need an armed squad, though not to stand on the road but to sit in the patrol van and watch to protect our patrol men and women from mob attacks. If I show you guys gorry pictures of our personnel's knocked down and killed and mobs attack our men. We even record cases of our men being killed by get away armed robbers. If not the way Nigeria is I would have left the job for something better. Last time an orderly to a politician shot our men for simply standing by the side of the road. We are parents too and need protection too. We are constantly harassed simply because we are accused of taking bribe. Is that enough reason to take our lives. On the brighter side, we can assist the police to fight highway robbery. The police is currently overwhelmed. With sufficient training we will be better than the police in the use of arms.
You guys don't need to stand on the road stopping vehicles with no exact criteria as to who gets stopped ( no methods, rickety transporters pass by then you stop fine cars).
Modernise!!! Have a good biometric system, fine the employers or driver's, have CCTV on roads to capture plate numbers of defaulters then fine them or increase their fines. Only chase or stop those you find to have pending cases on checking their plate numbers on the system or problems with rear car lights or reckless drivers noticed on the highway.
If you need a check point, set it up properly with warnings far ahead of the stop zone to slow down.
You officers have no business running into highways to stop vehicles to vehicles... It's highly unethical and if I'm on high speed, I won't stop suddenly if you guys come out of the blues, it's against the driving rules and you guys should know better.
And better stay off bad rounds... We can't be paying double for the sins of our tax collectors

In this life, discretion is require when taking a course of action:

Know when to strike

Know when to stop and retreat

Know when to re-enforce

Know when to withdraw and drop the plough.

You can't disobey the govt without repercussions, else the govt will be seen as weak which will lead to a state of anarchy.

The rot in the system didn't accumulate in a week or 2, it's a gradual process. The youths have expressed their anger why not withdraw and allow the govt take decisions.
So, from your theory, the solution is to go to lekki gate and shoot up people so as to prove a point that govt can't be defied.
And you wonder who the govt is...

Truth is that nobody pays taxes in Anambra. I really don't know why people have such strong anti-tax paying behavior particularly in Anambra than any other state.
Perhaps it was the historic total neglect of the people by the previous governments.

Go to Enugu or Ebonyi and see how people voluntarily pay their taxes without waiting for task forces to hound them.

There is a serious problem with Anambra businesses!
I don't know what paying tax has to do with agbero extorting people on the roadshuh
People are complaining of multiple taxation, multiple points without anything to show for it... And you're here pointing fingers.

Why isn't there confusion in UK, USA etc? Is it inferiority ir superiority complex worrying you Nigerians. And many of you Nigerians doctors end up not practicing in abroad, you switch ober to Physician Assistant or Nursing due to how difficult it is to break into the practice. Thank God for UK that made it easy for you guys. But imagine if those abroad countries treated other health workers badly, and made it unattractive, would you people be proud to switch when licensing as a doctor becomes difficult?
Pride and superiority complex is you guys problem. In USA, most of what you guys do in Nigeria is what others health care do. Med Doctors take on advanced roles unlike there in Nigeria. So I understand why you people try to hijack procedures. What's the business of an American doctor with IV line setting when there are numerous roles to occupy? What's the business of a doctor in taking delivery when there are other advanced obstetrical procedures to do? What's the business of a doctor with performing lab tests when there are advanced pathological lab procedures to do? But there, you people fight midwives, fight lab Sciences etc.
Pls stop trying to sound smart, the harder you try, the more dumb you sound. Like are you for realhuh As in a doctor shouldn't set IV lineshuh Take deliveryhuh
Pls if you haven't practiced anywhere else but your village shift... The elites you're trying to impress know what it is... Shift to your village people

Well, unlike you I'm a realist. You are part of the people that destroyed the country with your OLD MENTALITY that holds no water, many of these children would have first class if they choose to in higher institutions, I have seen many that did.

Also, about hardwork, you got it wrong again, you missed it, check statistics, you will see the poor people in this country are becoming poorer, there's no amount of hardwork that would make some people rich, stop living in dreams. If its by hardwork, so many Nigerians would be rich today.

Stop spreading your false myopic view
You're not a realist, you're confused and misguided by your inadequacies. Wisdom is wisdom, there's no such thing as old mentality... Nigeria is going to shit because of people like you who propagate people like you.
I don't know which statistics you are referring to, please supply a proper reference, however this is life- many poor people will get poorer(especially if the stick with your kind of mentality) but also many will rise with the right attitude. At the same time, many so called rich people will fall and descend to groveling for food. It's called life and downfall is as a result of bad decisions- many dynasties have failed because rich parents bought everything for their kids and gave them your kind of mentality to life only for things to fall apart when they weren't there.
It seems you're currently struggling and I can empathize with your emotions but nobody is responsible for your life except your self. The ultimate lesson from schooling is not about grades but to learn how to adapt and rise again when you lose your game and fall, you learn to accept your abilities, be yourself and leverage on your strengths to relevance and ultimately money.
The famous Bible quote 'whoever is good at what he does will stand before kings' is no joke.
I am neither poor nor rich but none of my kids will have it easy with privileges, I will not cheat with them so as to not end up as their victim.
Stop giving bad advice... Limit the disaster to yourself
EducationRe: How The Best WAEC Student In My Set Never Wrote The Exam. by dumodust(m): 5:19pm On Aug 27, 2020
ModestGal:
This is where you are mistaking, the ones that cheated to pass can defend whatever degree they have today. Infact, they can even still defend the WAEC sef. In a sane country, there shouldn't be stigma for students with a C in gaining admission to anywhere because the bell curve will always be bell.
But in Nigeria, nothing has pattern, so if a C student upgrade to A with cheating to gain admission into a course, do you think it would affect him in anyway in the future?

In a good country, there shouldn't be stigma on some courses and zero opportunities in other.
The problem is deep, and has no solution, I do advise young ones to go to centers where they can pass WAEC in A's for easy admission, once thier WAEC is good, they can face jamb squarely or how do you think those poor children can compete with rich children with #1million secondary school tuition fee, three home lesson teachers, no house chores for them to do?
With your comments, I can deduce that you are young or probably never grew up. Anybody who has lived long enough knows that bad or faulty education will finally show when or where it counts. There are no shortcuts to it.
Your argument is defeatist and lazy which is why many youths now will never learn to persevere and succeed. No zeal to actually learn anything from the roots up and be patient. So many people born into poor families are rich today via hardwork and persistence, in fact, rich kids are more laid back and tend to be in more danger of failing if not disciplined.
Why some courses demand higher grades is to be sure you can go all the way, why apply for competitive course like medicine with poor grades? You won't survive 3rd year and withthe mental pressure, you may end up mad. Some things require a certain level to accomplish and reading those high courses still make them billionaires but they play a role in society by ensuring quality control. Find your level and make money from doing what you love, many billionaires are not people with very high IQs but they know how to harvest those with high intellect to work for them.
I hope the people you are encouraging to cheat attend to you in the future... They will treat you and your children as doctors, build your house as engineers, may you employ them in your work place so that they provide below par services.and I pray they take the shortcuts you endorse.

Awww...you are most probably a liliputian butcher on a ward coat with a sensitive ego, my PhD must struck your hopelessly-pounded, esteem-battered nerves and ego from the heavens to the depth of the sea. You just had to harp on it. grin

Yes I have a PhD and I am certified to give you and others a proper lecture on issues within the ambit of my training and expertise. For the benefit of those who don't know, the latin word 'docere' is the aetiology of the word 'doctor' and it means to 'teach', not to 'treat'. Latin scholars, philosophers, apothecarists and scientists popularized that title in the medieval times. You as a physician or an aspiring physician borrowed that word my friend. It is not your father's property. You can't argue against that. So, you are wrong and my points are valid. grin

Where the did you read from my post indicating that a PhD empowers a Medical Scientist to treat and do surgery? You clearly have your jaundiced and prejudicial views. Oh, I think I recognize your name- one of those failed students/physicians who proclaim that the MLScientist is getting too much deserved credit and should be 'shouted down' or locked out of cerebral discussions regarding their expertise. You are riding against the tide buddy. Go to Youtube and other social platforms, Medical Labodatory Scientists/Biomedical scientists/Clinical Scientists all over the world are coming out and proudly standing taller as they become less introvertive, lest others write their stories for them.

So stop seeking out the horrible job of denting them, it's a lost cause. How many years have you been blaring and bleating against MLSCts? 10 years I guess? Have you succeeded in eliminating the profession? Watch out for the grey hairs buddy. grin
We read about physicians raping their patients everyday, selling babies and killing patients on abortion tables. It doesn't mean it will go extinct.

Weren't you the guy that bragged about employing a zoologist or botanist to work in the medical laboratory? grin
How far? Is that zoologist you guys employed in your hospital laboratory (because you couldn't afford to pay a proper Medical Laboratory Scientist) still hopelessly churning out fake Widal titre results such as 1/75, 1/41 and 1/53? That una hospital na hotbed of quakery. grin

Health care field are fields backed and empowered by Acts turned Laws. If you are not happy with it, you can pick up guns and matchetes and go beat up lawmakers to repeal those laws, like your colleagues did recently in Enugu where they used matchetes on each other during your NMA elections. You can't conduct a proper election of 500 people yet, you want to boss over other groups of astute and constitutionally independent professionals? Jokers! grin

He visited a fake and/or uncertified laboratory probably because it is cheap. I can bet without doubt that the person who ran that test is NOT a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist who is specialized in Medical Microbiology.

There are walk-in patients/Direct consumer patients (DCT) who go to medical laboratory to run routine or follow up tests all over the world. It is not illegal or unethical.

When a case like the above presents itself, proper medical laboratory investigation can bevdone with referral to physician whom the Scientist or laboratory works or partners with as I have so advised him hereunder...

He needs to go through a GP before 'escalating' to a Dermatologist who is a specialist in a Federal hospital.

Why I am taking my time to educate you is because of your ignorant sweeping derogatory statement against Medical Laboratory Scientists. I'm a PhD in the field and I feel I am qualified to give this lecture so you do not propagate your ill-informed views to others.
The chief propagators of quackery have arrived grin grin... Your statements are not valid, PhD or no PhD you no doctor and will never be. No one has given you any license to treat any STDs and stop claiming that the pathway to the doctor is via you while it's the other way round.
Okwa na partner docs... Dolts.
This whole thread is just Nigeria in summary... It's obvious what this guy's problem is, he just needs to see a specialist and an examination will end all this talk.
