I'm sorry but isn't that how we vote for public servants? Based on their achievements and record of service? Everybody keeps harping on how we knew little about Fashola before he became governor, but should we now make it a norm to just close our eyes and allow Tinubu pick our leaders for us because his judgement is unquestionable, spotless and perfect? Yes we were lucky with Fashola but who says we will be with Ambode?

You don't need to agree though....he is a Chartered Accountant with interest in Public Fiance that adequately understand finance of government.

He was the man behind the success story of Lagos in term of revenue generation. When OBJ decided to withhold Lagos allocation, he was the AG that devised the formula for Lagos to call of the bluff of the FG.

Presently many states in Nigeria are copying the same template the man implemented.

Is there an article anywhere I can use to follow up on that claim. You can't just drop something like this without concrete proof. In the absence of any, this claim is just beer parlour gist or at best a rumour.

Cos you've been lucky with Fashola doesn't mean you should ignore people who are better qualified for the post and embrace a mediocre with no pedigree or achievements whatsoever. Omisore is actually supossed to be an intelligent person with his academic credentials but he doesn't act it. You should see his CV, its quite heavy.

I've searched online for anything relating to the achievements, antecedents, pedigee or accomplishments of Ambode as accountant general of Lagos and found nothing. So please enlighten me on what this enigma has done for lagos

Why are you asking his other achievement? the role of a civil servant is clear and he served it meritoriously. Ideally, Civil Servants don't take credit for doing their jobs, however, I will advise you to enquire the duties of states' Accountant Generals. Alternatively, you should ask what SPECIAL role did Ambode play in stabilising lagos State.

As for GOS, He never served as a state Legislator. Let me help you out,
He was Chairman, Mushin LGA, In 2003 he contested for the AD Ticket of Lagos West against incumbent Senator Tokunbo Afikunyomi and LOST the Primaries. His was compensated with the AD ticket for Federal House of Reps which was originally won by some guy(forgot his name), because AD couldn't afford to lose some influential members as Funsho Williams of PDP was making wave. Tinubu played smart to keep some mushin votes to the purse(which paid off).
He contested for the Governorship primaries in 2007 and lost to Fashola, but he started his troubles again, AC then can't afford to lose a chunk of Mushin, because of PDP and Koro were making waves and everything was tensed. However, he was given the AC ticket for Lagos Central in 2007.
He was rejected by Lagos Central constituents in 2011 for POOR showing, and was moved to Lagos West by APC, with Remi flying Lagos Central.

Whate are/were his achievements? What is he famous for?Nothing!!! he CAN't Return to the Senate, and Can't be Governor. He is a bad market.

That LG funding crap is the only thing he's supposedly done for Lagos? I'm waiting for his other achievements please. And BTW and like i said before, I don't know why you're going on and on about GOS and ignoring to list out Ambodes achievements. I already said I don't like GOS. If you have personal beef with him its your problem. Let's face the issues. What are Ambodes achievements and interesting qualities?

Ganiyu Solomon was a WASTE when he was in House of Reps. If you must know, he was the WORST Federal Legislator from Lagos State between 2003 to 2007. All he does was to dose in the Green Chamber. Obanikoro was the BEST federal legislator(In the Senate), while Abike stood tall in Reps. Ganiyu Solomon was "Sent" to the Senate through the goodwill of Asiwaju Tinubu in 2007 because the AC(as at then) didn't want to lose some influential members after losing Agbaje to DPA and Afikuyomi to ANPP(though he came back). What HAS GOS contributed to Lagos State since his time as Mushin LGA Chair, Rep and Senate since 2007?

Ikuforiji being a long term Speaker does not make him super, yes he tried but he can't be in government forever. It is not his personal estate, and no one is preventing him from running. The Ticket was zoned to Epe where Ambode is from. he can try his luck though.

Agbaje, is my man anyday, but not this PDP's Agbaje- As I don't trust him. Yes he tried a lot during the early days of AD till 2007 when he left and also in Afenifere. However, he refused to join the APC due to ego, so isn't fit to fly the APC flag.

As for Akinwunmi Ambode, he is an enigma, if you follow governance in Lagos you will appreciate him except you are one of these Tinubu hater.

One Question, what has GOS contributed to Lagos State?

Enigma? Former permanent secretary or accountant general? That contributed what? That local govrernment funding crap you posted earlier is pure bull. I don't like GOS, he looks and acts like a thug. But he's at least popular and has served Lagos in the house and senate before. Please can you list out Ambodes past achievements and contributions to Lagos?

Mr. Ambode served under the Administration of His Excellency Governor Tinubu as an Accountant General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance. He formulated the economic policies that boost the IGR and economic well-being of Lagos State, and was famous for marshalling the State through economic sustainance during the three years period that President Obasanjo witheld the State LG allocation. During that time, the LGAs functioned smoothly and workers weren't short-paid nor owed for a single week. Do you know what it takes for LGAs to survive without the Federal allocation for THREE years? Thanks to Ambode and others. Fashola had to retain him and he continued in his drive until his voluntary retirement in 2012. The Guy is not hyped, he is worth it.

Stop trying to play smart. He hasn't done anything worthy of note to merit becoming our governor. His only claim to that position is Tinubus anointing. Nobody knows this guy. Of all the APC candidates, Ambode is the one that has contributed the least to Lagos. Ganiyu Solomon has served Lagos in the Senate for so long, Ikuforiji has served Lagos as speaker for long, Hamzat has been Fasholas anchor man all these years, helping to reconstruct Lagos. Even Agbaje in the PDP has done more for Lagos.
Ambode is a nonentity, no interesting qualities or achievements. Nothing!
Ambode should just be quoting and thanking Tinubu during his campaign tours cos that's all he has, he hasn't done shît for Lagos.

I don't like the way people are going about hyping this Ambode guy. Just because he's tinubu's anointed does not mean he should be forced on us. What are his antecedents? What has he done for Lagos in the past? Where is his campaign money coming from? Cos he seems to be spending more than anyone else on this governorship campaign and he was just a former accountant general.
I don't like the guy and I'm sure a lot of people dont too, including Fashola. A lot of people may vote PDP out of frustration in the coming elections.. At least we know Agbaje and Obanikoro. Who d hell is Ambode and what has he done for Lagos?

I don't think Nigerians are allergic to paying taxes. I think people are not adequately consulted and enlightened on the tax rates and the benefits of paying taxes. Who won't be skeptical about paying taxes in a country with a corruption record like Nigerias when the likelihood of your money entering someone's pocket is high. And then their enforcement and compliance methods are so barbaric! They just invade your space with thugs and seal off your premises without notice.
Let's not just administer taxes because white people do it. We should apply a little more sense, diligence and accountability
