Only a matter of time before they get to Lagos. Its almost as if the government at the center couldn't care less about what's going on. The state governors couldn't be bothered too. Its probably time for every sane person living in Lagos to start mapping out an exit plan from Nigeria. Those terrorists have been on a year long journey to Lagos and they're almost there. |
Oyinlomobambam:You have a valid point. I think the igbos and even yoruba should start voting for successionist parties or pro referendum parties. That way they can push their agenda at the centre. Its somehow hypocritical to vote PDP and APC when you don't even believe in Nigeria in the first place. |
meccuno:I completely agree with you. Nigeria as a country is rigged to fail. We can never enjoy good governance because we might never get the best hands to lead us. We may never get the best hands to lead us because one clan or region decides it is their turn to loot and they fix the most illiterate and incompetent people in sensitive positions. If Nigeria doesn't break up peacefully, it'll eventually break violently. If something hasn't worked for 61 years, its only foolish to continue trying to make it work. Except you are gaining something out of the broken system. This is why some "patrotic nigerians" are hell bent on making the mess called Nigeria continue. |
I don't think these people governing us know what democracy is. If majority of the people you are governing say they don't want you again you have to leave the place. That is what democracy means. 70% of the people in the SE don't want Nigeria again. Whatever ohaneze ndigbo or whoever else says is irrelevant. Ohaneze ndigbo is not a recognized democratic institution. Same as Afenifere. The majority of the people want out! It is undemocratic and dictatorial to keep people in a union against their will. I am 100% in support of IPOD because they are calling for a referendum which is the democratic way of guaging the interests of the population. Not by sampling the opinions any money sharing groups like ohaneze ndigbo |
Abdomox:Big ups bros. Thanks for this. Was planning to get some USD and £ but its looking more likely that there'll be a temporary reprieve for the Naira. Will target a nice buy price after the intervention. The long term outlook is still bearish for the naira though |
AlhajiBitcoin:You can only import raw materials for sugar if you have proof that you already have a strategy for producing those raw materials in future. BUA is hiding under this guise to import the raw material and then export the sugar at a serious profit. If you import raw materials without a backward integration strategy you pay billions in customs duties and levies. But BUA has gotten a discount by simply pretending to have an import substitution plan. That refinery in PH was made solely for export. He is taking advantage of a law that aims to promote local production, and simply granting himself discounts to the detrimebt of other local players. The others are not mugus. |
Wickedfacts:Dangote, import waiver, cars What does that have to do with sugar? |
Not a fan of Nigerian politics but this ought to be the most ridiculous legal argument i have ever heard. How can someone who was born in a town in present day Nigeria be excluded from contesting elections as a Nigerian because the town was in another country before he was born? Joda is a town in pressnt day Nigeria, why on earth would someone in Abuja deny anyone in Joda the chance to contest any election because joda was once in Cameroon as far back as 1961 ![]() Absolutely ridiculous!!! The Supreme court would have to step in to properly interprete the law in this case. They need to set a precedent on whether conferred citizenship is retrogressive more so in this very unusual case where another territory was absorbed. I'm sure one of the conditions for joining Nigeria un 1961 would have been promises from the Nigerian side that their rights to full benefits associated with being citizens of Nigeria would not be trampled on. Atiku should introduce that in his defence. |
AerialMapper:Exactly! If you don't trust someone then you should probably not be with the person at all and move on. Why checking phones and sharing passwords? Like Where does it end? Inspecting private parts or sexual organs? |
dk2baba:Hello there. I suggest you get your BSc cert evaluated and get in the pool right now irrespective of what your crs score is. The EE draw can magically go down to your score anytime. Then when your MSc is ready in August and if you're still in the pool update your EE profile with it. PS: WES needs only your most recent qualification. |
Hello guys, I hope everyone's doing great. I have a friend whose CRS is above 470 and is currently in the pool but wants to additional points as buffer. I have read the beginning of the thread and the explanations are very hazy on exactly how TEF works. What is the minimum level of French proficiency that someone can obtain to get at least 20 more crs points, or even 10 points. |
Kebbiprince:Yes something should be done about it. I know its a major caise of friction with young couples. The older generation has more or less accepted it as a cultural norm. But i see a lot of younger men starting to ask real questions about what exactly their high earning wives are doing with their fat salaries and why they don't feel the need to chip in with family obligations. It's a really thorny issue. |
Kebbiprince:Completely agree. Read her post and got the same vibe. Its shocking how some women feel its ok to earn almost the same money as their men and feel zero obligation to contribute to anything in the family. Not just that, they now selfishly insist on spending their partners money. Who is raising these girls to think like that? |
Richy4:This is a nice comment but only works in a perfect world. The essence of dating/courtship (not sure which one the OP did since he just opened his house for free sex) is to understand your partner well and see if you can proceed to marry them. The OP clearly doesn't like her lazy and entitled attitude. The worst thing you can do is to go into a relationship or marriage with the goal of changing someone. You should take your partner for who they are. If there's anything about them you can't live with then just take a hike and move on. Its not your job to change anyone. What if you marry them on the false premise that they Will change and they end up the same? You end up irritated in a marriage with someone whose attitude disgusts you. That being said there's a baby involved and nobody wants to deprieve an unborn child of a family. The OP should man up and bear his cross. That's the responsible thing to do. Without the baby I'd have advised the OPbto get that girl out of his life since her attitude irritates him. There are plenty of potential partners out there that have exactly what you're looking for. Why waste your time complaining, whining and trying to change and tie down someone whose attitude pisses you off? |
Hello house. I know someone whose birthday is fast approaching and who's in the pool with 477. This person already has an MSc. Can they take the BCS or ACCA exams onto of the MSc to hedge against the points drop atter their birthday? Not sure if it applies and don't want to give wrong advise. |
Very interesting analyses on the forum. They are mostly speculative though as no one knows why the IRCC is conducting CEC draws on a Saturday morning with 27k invitations with a cut off of 75. They should streamline their information management system to ensure people are adequately informed about changes. It doesn't seem fair to get people to pay so much money for all these services (WES, IELTS, ITA and PPR fees) and then leave them in the dark about changes to their program. What's the difference between that and the Nigerian civil service? |
Could be that they are using the other draws to patch up the shortfall from the FSW and other programs. It's really weird how there's very little information on what these people are trying to achieve. Almost as if someone woke up on a saturday morning in toronto and conducted CEC draws with a cut off of 75! |
PNP draw tonight. At least they're still doing draws. That's a positive. |
Eat50:Hello. I won't get your email because the email account I used to set up nairaland has been deactivated. I haven't done my medicals yet because I am still in the pool awaiting ITA. However in anticipation of the ITA in January, I booked a medical appointment with a panel physician somewhere in West London (W1U2ER). I had to cancel the appointment because there was no FSW draw in January. You can lookup the list of panel physicians on the Canada immigration site and see which is closest to you. The cost of the medical is £330. That's plenty of money to waste on something you will probably have to redo if it expires before its useful. |
Eat50:I think its best to to do your medicals after you get the Invitation to apply when you are in the UK. I would advice using a Nigerian account for your POF because i think its more difficult, if not impossible, to get reference letters from UK banks addressed to the IRCC. Nigerian banks already have a template for their IRCC letters. The Nigerian police report is a non-issue as i was able to get mine within a day and while still in the UK. Though I would advice getting it post ITA because it expires after 3months and nobody seems to know when the next draws will take place. |
Hello guys, how's it going? I'm really curious to know if anyone has any verified info on when next we'll have the FSW or all program draws. I've rummage through the IRCC online portals and the other immigration sites for information on the draws and there's absolute silence. Really strange. Have the draws been suspended indefinitely? |
Very interesting times. February and still no FSW draw in 2021! |
Hello house. Does anyone have an idea when we will have another FSW draw. I'm really concerned we may not have one this month. |
MissMa01:Thank you so much! ![]() |
shadama:Oh really? |
Debbieeeeeee:Thanks again! I just got the mail from WES with the details I need to get into the draw next week. Could you please help with another concern I have. I don't currently reside in Nigeria and I inadvertently booked a flight to Nigeria for next week and will be staying for a while. I have heard a lot about how difficult it is to do the post ITA medicals in Nigeria. Is it possible for me to do my medicals in my current location immediately after my ITA is confirmed next week? Like are you supposed to wait and be told when to do the medicals or you just do the medicals anytime after your ITA? |
Debbieeeeeee:Oh ok. Thanks a lot debbie ![]() |
OlakunmiSMELTD:Hello bro. Thank you for this valuable information. I faced a similar situation and my dashboard now has an expected date of February 5. Can I ask what exactly happens on this expected date? I am concerned because I really want to get into the pool for ITA in January. |
Hello house, any hope of obtaining a nigerian police report for someone currently in the UK? Can anyone help with info on how to? |
Hello guys. How do i get a Nigerian police report from outside Nigeria? |
garetz:Back to my question, you really think Donald Trump has any respect for you as a black man from Nigeria? |
What does that have to do with sugar?
